What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 172

I took this on Tuesday, late morning.  because the light was so good - see, early autumn sunshine has caused the Suzy Homemaker in me to get two loads of washing on the line.  Gracious.  A sure sign that I'm making the most of what's left of late summer.
This is a good angle for seeing the before and after of a couple of days really.  The pile in the immediate foreground at right is part of my clear stamps collection..having been rifled through for something or other yesterday.  The tidy trays, perenially to hand are in the stamp cleaning basket...because they too could do with a clean.  You can see that Miss Dunnit had just delivered me a mid-morning coffee.  At this stage of the day, I'm doing other work and trying to clear space in the day to play at this desk.  You can see my old and untrendy iphone and the basket at the end holds ribbon and distress stains.  I took them to the crop at the weekend and hadn't quite got around to putting them in their proper places.  Behind that basket is another yellow plastic basket - a collapsible RUB of about 5 x 7 that I use as a bin on my table when I crop or demo.  Not put away yet. Not overly exciting this week huh.  Nor is it, 8 hours further into Tuesday.  I tidied, and got on with cutting and counting and preparation, so there's not much to show.  Except it's a ll a bit tidier because to create room to make a mess in, I had to tidy!

Be more inspiring will you? Show us what you're doing at your desk today - upload a pic to your blog, put WOYWW in the title and link it here.  Visits are reciprocated as far as is humanly possible.  Don't be blatant about your products and don't link to any old post just for hits...that's not in the spirit of the thing.  And if you can, turn off word verification. If only for the day!

  7. it is lovely to see washing on the line, never see it here, not allowed by the home owners association. I sneak some out on my clothes horse though, the weather is far too good here not to dry the heavy stuff outdoors. I miss seeing it blowing in the breeze though!

  31. Wow, I can't believe that you are not allowed to hang out washing in some parts of the world. It's the norm here, I don't own a dryer! Love the little cup warmer, so cute. I only tidy my desk to make room to make more mess, so I'm right with you on that. I have to say that your pile on the right has far outclassed my mess, well done.
    Have a great week.

  43. great looking fun desk this week. I found it interesting when I traveled to the UK that everyone still hangs laundry out and hardly anyone owns a dryer. I haven't had a clothes line in over 30 years and while it isn't illegal to own one the home owners association frowns on it unless you have an enclosed yard! RULES!!! 64. How lovely to have someone to bring you coffee! I am training my boy to make tea and he is pretty good at it now too but the authorities get a bit funny if you keep 6 year olds off school to make you hot drinks... Good luck with the preparations for the classes, sounds exciting. Wish I could do something like that. And today, if I put my washing out, I fear it would be stiff in minutes, blooming cold this morning huh?!

  69. Lovely to be back. Why do clothes always smell so much better after coming off the line? I have a drier, as I think towels HAVE to go in it to make them fluffy and to cope with the many many days in the UK when it is raining, but it is always wonderful to see clothes out on the line (until it starts to rain and you see me rushing out to rescue it!). Back to the more important world of crafting!! I wonder how high a pile my stamps would make if I piled them up?? Ali x #106

  97. Julia! Oh how I love the day shots. There's life in these pictures. So right this minute...and most minutes actually...if one looked out of my window, one would see clothes drying on a rack. So your drying clothes make my heart beat a bit faster. I love the photos in English interior decor mags. that show large kitchens with clothes drying on a 'Jenny' I think is the name. Clothes hung to dry tell a human story I feel. Okay I did get astray of things workdesk, sorry!
Well I know what you mean about tidying to get things done. It sure works for me. I can really function so much better when the surrounding area is tidy. Not to mention that when I tidy I find things lost, missing in action, or forgotten. I see that you have TWO of those plastic trays meant to catch extra powder so as to be able to put back into the container. Awesome. Have a great day. Ciao! Norma, xo

  110. Autumn is my favorite season! Here it becomes cooler, but not too cold, and the leaves are changing. All of the windows stay open because it is so gorgeous out!

Have a beautiful week, my friend!

  112. Hi Julia

didn't make it yesterday - as usual, even the easiest task slowed me down. I did take pics though so will be able to manage a late on.

I noticed the washing on the line too - my back is usually to the washing when I take pics of my desk - or you'd see my big nickers!!!

This angle shows what a massive desk you have actually... ((envious))!!!

Don't be-little your poor ipod/phone/pad - I have none but a blackberry with poo apps, so could do with one of said 'i' thingies... If you don't want them mind, send this way- I'll have an untrendy 'i' anything!

I'm with you on the tidying to make a mess... my kids do that well - only I tidy for them to make a mess.

    big hugs to you

Loving your desk this week. How completely sweet of Miss Dunnit to deliver your coffee to you! That's the best part of any desk! Haha!
