Action Day.

Classic proof of procrastination.  I did this LO at the Crop on Saturday.  Kate is currently seven years old.

When I worked at a proper job that required me to turn up to an office at a suitable time every day, Mondays were a bit difficult.  I have had other types of work too, and to be honest, Mondays have pretty much stayed the same.  Since I've been at home working for our own business and dabbling in this and that, Mondays are very much less about the end of a good weekend and more about the start of another busy week.  I like the potential of the week before me and the opportunity to plan a bit, maybe even have a finish line in sight for some longer term stuff.  It suits me.  Despite appearances to the contrary, I like a bit of order! I am a list maker as you know, so Monday is a list day, be it mental or actual. Probably because I'm a supremely skilled procrastinator, I like to have a couple of achievable targets.  Interestingly, I don't physically record these.  They lurk at the back of my mind as if a secret challenge.  They aren't secret of course.  For if I don't do them, someone has to listen to me whining about lack of time and the utter flexibility that I have to display to please everyone all the time.  Really.  I have a spectacular capacity for inner Diva.  So today is a good, positive day for me.  I have a handle on the things I need to do, the things I want to do and the things that I've erm, carried over from last week!  Now, the key is to make a start.  And that's where all the philosophy in the world won't help!
Surprise...more proof...these photos taken in 2010....LO made at the Crop this weekend!

  1. Superb LO's. I too make lists, and enjoy ticking the tasks off when done, though like you, many do get carried over. I know they will get done, eventually! Take care Zo xx

  2. Great LO's and just think that if you'd completed them all those years ago when the pics were first taken, they would be forgotten about by now and stashed away in an album somewhere! Worth waiting for see!
I'm a list maker but very often lose my list or note book then I've had it! Doh!
    Love jo x

  3. I hate Mondays but that's for obvious reasons at present! I am not very good at lists other than mental ones and very good at putting things off them too! I will email you about the WOYWW day, honest!!

  5. I have lists of my lists... I don't scrap in anyway in order, I just scrap what I feel like at the time and that means one day I can be working on a photo from the previous week or from 10-15 years ago! Hey, I have 2 kids, I have to get my excitement somewhere... ;-)

  6. Mondays are not the best day for me either...never have been!
As for scrapbooking, I don''t have any order and 5 years is pretty quick for me! You will probably see that next month. I expect what I do may be older!!
Getting sooo excited about it now too! Already making a list of what I shall be bringing to do!

  8. Hi Julia, both layouts are superb and you aren't too far behind with the second one in terms of time....... every day is Monday for me, but not in a bad way, just in a retired way... something for you to look forward to one day! Crafty hugs, Anne x

  9. Lordy, I'm so glad there's another procrastinator out there!! Stuff happens, but it's the stuff that isn't planned to the n'th degree that evolves over days/weeks! Loving the layout, and remember, it is ONLY two years on (it could be 10!!) Hugs, Buttons x

  11. These are awesome scrapbook pages, regardless of when they were made and when the photos were taken. You can be proud that you got these finished. Had it been me, I wouldn't have known where to begin.

That reminds me of tomorrow (Tuesday). I'm heading to my friend Kathy's in another town. We are making cards. She wants to make birthday, I want to do Halloween. Since I'm not much of a card maker, I'm sure she will guide me in the process.

Having said all that, I wanted you to know I won't be able to join WOYWW this week. I probably won't be home till after midnight my time. And you know I like to be in the top 10 each week (grin). But I'll stop by and visit when I get home.

  12. Great layouts and well worth the wait, I'd say. If we were supposed to scrap our photos as and when they were taken then I am a failure at scrapping :( I've three huge boxes of photos and know that no matter how long I live I will never be able to scrap them all, ever ... often I just dip in and whatever takes my fancy or fits in with the current theme gets scrapped. Elizabeth xx

PS: I'm a list maker too

  13. all I can tell you is that I 'made" er ermm 'am making' a kaffe fassett knitted blanket shawl thing for my friend's fiftieth, I started it when she was 43 - leaving me plenty of time - i am now half way and she is 51 soon, she has taken to calling it her burial shroud

it amazes me that people respond to my tardiness with a hay nonny nonny and a bit of a jest...

there just are not enough Mondays in a week or I certainly could get organised.

love the nerd pokemon convention LO -

  15. Seriously Julia I think a lot of us were cloned at birth with the list making and procrastinating.
However, at the craft club I run we did zendoodling and the Zen bit has stuck in my mind. Doing everything mindfully.
I'm going to give it a go.

  17. Julia,

You are active in moving forward and eventually getting around to do these layouts, don't be so hard on yourself. I still have photos from 2005 holiday I have not completed.

I do like your layouts sweet, simple and not over the top, great creation.

  19. That's why my blog is called Plant's List!! I do cheat by writing down the ones I know I am going to do though - physical evidence of achievement spurs me on!!
