Hmm, did someone suggest a tidy up? |
In the best traditions of what I do (or rather don't), I haven't tidied my desk before using the space to take a photo for today's blog post. So I took one photo and then thought to step back and show you the real summer's day...look, I have the stable door fully open. There will be a storm. No, not because of my slutty desk, because the humidity and temperature dictate it. As I type, the warm wind is gaining annoying strength....as in, I push the door wide open, the wind blows it closed....I could get up and anchor the door open, but that's what is so annoying...I have to do it.
This is my intended post illustration - more ATCs.., I'm thrilled to still be receiving happy mail...I will eventually 'pocket' them all in a special edition album because they deserve to be separate from my other ATC collection. Hasn't it been marvellous, to discover or re-discover these little cards, they take so little in terms of stash but mean so much more I think. Don't wait for an anniversary, send one to someone any time!
Meanwhile chez Dunnit, I really need to finish the card I started on Monday. Really. Sarah's beautiful baby Ruby will be weeks old before she's introduced to the tatty side of paper crafting by her WOYWW Aunty Julia! Just got to go and open the door.......
Lovely ATC's! Hope the storm wasn't too bad!
ReplyDeleteI just love having doors or windows open to allow the fresh air in! We have a small "window" (excuse the pun) of opportunity to have our windows or doors open for fresh air. Usually in the spring or fall. The other times are either too hot or too cold but mostly HOT! Your ATC's you received are so pretty. I didn't participate as I had just started and didn't even know what an ATC was! Hoping to participate next time around.
ReplyDeleteI love a good storm, ( no damage please), enjoy,
ReplyDeletebeautiful art!!!
Darn that wind anyway, doesn't Mother Nature realize that you have more important things to do than pick up after her??!!! Indeed! And no, I did not suggest a tidy up. Those were not my words. I did not suggest a bonfire either. Not this time.
ReplyDeletefabulous ATCs there
ReplyDeleteWell your desk is a bit tidier than yesterday methinks....nice batch of ATCs Julia and I like your idea of putting them in a special binder, think I may do the same. Please can we do it again some time? Christmas ATCs sounds nice..........kidding really but it was such fun. A x
ReplyDeleteGreat ATC's and great outdoors. I haven't ventured outside as I know it won't last and can't bear that!
ReplyDeleteWas wondering whether it was just me as LOADS of commenters forgot to leave their number this week. I did ask one and she said she didn't realise she was supposed to leave it. So I was wondering whether you could mention it again next week.
Thanks everso...

Your atc's are wonderful! I am sure you received far more than just these... It has been blisteringly hot and humid here, got as many windows open as I can wtihout all my birthday cards flying outside...(and as they'd end up in my downstairs neighbour's garden I ain't opening the big window! ) The weather in the rest of the county 'oop north' sounds dreadful today so we are very lucky!
ReplyDeleteWe had a great storm earlier - lots of flooding now going on here in the Midlands! Those ATCs are fab arent they - I didnt get chance to join in this year as I was on holiday - looks like you all had a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteHeavy rain was forecast for us for mid-day but not much at all apart from a heavy, thundery shower lasting 15 minutes. Can't be doing with this humidity though. almost (but not quite) too warm to craft.
ReplyDeleteHope you got to the door before all the rain blew in.
Lovely collection of ATCs, a very special swap that was.

Hi Julia, we keep hearing how very warm it is down your way, no evidence of that kind of heat up here, lots of rain though and just a teasing taster of sunshine now and again. Love all your ATCs but, being me, my eye was drawn to what looks like a Scottish themed one - middle, top row - love the heather and tartan :) Hope you've made some progress with the baby card. Elizabeth x
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely to craft with the door open, I wish the storm would hurry up and come this way because it's so thick and humid here, really squashes you with the heat. Yuck. Mustn't moan really least it feels a little like summer! Take care Zo xx
ReplyDeleteI love the hot weather and the storms afterwards maybe you should have one of our Aussie 45 degree hot days then you will think yourself lucky LOL
ReplyDeleteLove that collection of ATCs you are building there and a special book for them is ideal
Thanks for Sharing and catch you soon
Eliza
Oh and you don't need to reply make that card instead please

Hot and humid, but no storms here as yet. Yikes though, a lorra rain further North it seems.
ReplyDeleteAm half tidied here - yay! But that means it's still half untidy - boo! Possibly a flame thrower is the answer after all :(

ReplyDeleteIf you've got room for one more ATC in your collection email me your address Julia. The Doodly Birds are quite fluffed up with the idea of appearing on your desk.

ReplyDeleteIt was 113ºF here in some spots in Austin day before yesterday...and still in the 90s at 10 PM. I'd love to be able to open my door right on the garden like that. Oh, my.
ReplyDeleteI love flinging the windows wide and letting the great outdoors enter...obviously not so good when a storms imminent!
ReplyDeleteI hope it's done it's thing without leaving damage in it's wake and you're basking in pure sunshine ;D
