What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 137

Gracious me Julia Dunnit, is that actually something crafty going on at your table?
Yes indeed it is.
And why is it daylight?
Because I took the picture on Tuesday lunchtime, just as Mr Dunnit came home to ask me to go out to make some deliveries.  And I was afraid that I wouldn't get back to it. And I was right.
And why is there a large ladder and a fork in the garden, interrupting your erm, view?
Because Mr Dunnit had to repair a wind tortured fence.  (The ladder is stored on the ground in a small gap between our shed and said fence panel).  What I should have answered is the bleedin' obvious: Mr Dunnit doesn't excel at putting stuff away.  Unless it's in his workshop of course!
So what's on your desk?
A pad of fresh, cheerful  Tilda papers - the nearest I've come to liking anything Tilda-ish enough to buy it.  My jar of buttons...with a few pink ones sprinkled about the desk (sounds artistic that way).  Lots of rolls of different size and dimension glue dots.  A small deckchair.  Yep.  Bought for Miss Dunnit as a book holder some years ago, and relatively unused.  Now employed for my ipad.  A wire bound notebook, standing on its side.  I'm using the pages of this book as the 'scrap' surface to swipe, splosh and 'clean' stamps and sponge inks and blah...Elizabeth did something similar last year and ended up with a bunch of wonderful journal pages.  We'll see!
So now I've seen yours, shall I show you mine?
Yes, please!  Upload a pic of your work station/surface/floor/worktop/armchair/lap tray to your blog, title your blog post with WOYWW and link here.  (The title is important, finding the right post can be time consuming enough to make a visitor click away...) Not everyone will visit, but a few will, and believe me, the inspiration is: well, inspirational.
Can I promote my etsy/shop/tv programme/latest product?
No.  We love a recommendation based on good service, and no-one minds you mentioning your sources, but really, this is not an advertising platform. It's a bit of fun.  If you want to advertise...write a really good blog that people wanna visit.  Take my advice, I ain't using it. And if I'm exercising a double standard, it's OK see, because this is my blog.

Thank you a kerjillion times if you got involved yesterday.  Huge fun, a great buzz for Stephanie and, as Di almost suggested, we're currently considering our own range of knickers *grin*!

  1. Not sure how this happened, but I'm glad I stalked you. No advertising for me. No photos of my desk, either. Just lots of reminiscing. Glad you explained about the ladder.

Your grass is sooooooooooo green, I can't believe it.

  10. Oooh, why does a jar of buttons make me so happy? Maybe hypnosis would bring an answer.... I think it means I must go out and pick up a mice mason jar for my homeless buttons. Thanks for the inspiration.. And thanks for visiting!

  17. It is good to see your desk in daylight - what a difference it makes!! The papers are fab, and I love the card. Your button jar is enviable as ever! I don't have an i-pad or i-pod either come to that, but I think the chair is so sweet...surely I could find room for one? If I weren't de-cluttering (or not) of course....

  18. ooh nice to see the desk in daylight....must admit I am awful for putting things away (craft stuff finds itself into everyroom in my home!!!).

    Lovely spiral bound journal too.

  33. Please Miss, sorry about the knickers comment yesterday :)

Loving those papers Julia and I immediately spotted the deckchair too - always have a good nose at your desk before reading the text. Happy WOYWW - thanks for a bright and cheerful post as always. Funny, I think our work desks must face the same way - a chance of decent light in the mornings at this time of year, but rubbish later in the day.

  35. ooh did I miss a show of knickers yesterday? must look back later, oddly I am drawn to the tilda products and then run screaming from the shop when I see the price tag....my Mr D has a tendancy to abandon ladders about the house...it not like the relatively unobtrusive pile of craft mags is it?

  39. How happy would we be as wives if the misters in our lives put things away. I would do anything....yes even that.....particularly as mine suffers from pot kettle syndrome...you know...where he berates the kids for not putting their bits in the dishwasher and cannot understand that he does zactly the same himself everyday with his tea cups, breakfast plates, lunch dishes... *serious eye rolling*

My iPad is well jell of your iPad's deck chair BTW.

And, small question, just how many small pairs of fiskars orange handled scissors is acceptable to display on ones desk?

  53. Putting stuff away? finishing a job would be nice. My greenhouse broke in the storm, due to lack of comms between me and OH. He has fixed 2 panes (thankyou), but for some reason, has decided not to fix the other two. Now if it was glass, I could fix it, but he has decided to fix it with wood, so I can't help. I'm torn between being grateful and being annoyed! Nice to see your garden though!

I do agree about the promoting of only ones own shop or other blogger meeting places ...fair enough if they are on the side bar but I dont mind links to interesting sites ...its up to me whether I visit but the point of the day ...or week for some ... is to visit those of like minds, for inspiration and a form of social interaction ...and to have fun, feeling one is with a friend or collegue....if you see what I mean. It does amaze me that at least a quarter of your links dont comment on your blog. xx

  77. Crafty goodness with a green sunny view :D. I really do like the view out your craftroom, but I think I'd be so busy looking out I'd forget to get on with my crafting lol.

I think we had that wind last night, it was actually shaking the house a bit with the gusts (it always pays to keep a glass of water next to the bed so things like wind gusts shaking the house or earthquakes or t-rexs approaching can be confirmed visually lol).

  116. Julia, about the days of the week stamps on my desk...I bought them for Project Life, but ended up using them for a layout. Since then, there they sit...unused...on my desk. But I love them so and they make me happy to look at, so there they will stay :) For now :)

  117. Very neat and tidy!! So, you mentioned an IPad...can you surf blogs on yours? I can't get out of my watched blogs one, as everything slides around and I can't use the side bars! Very weird! Have a great week.
