What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 128

A two-fer from me this week!  I took these at about 4.30pm yesterday; I was just about to finish two sets of calendar pages by adding tweaks and extras to the second set.  You can see that I'm incapable of doing even two pages the same, but that's OK.  Turns out though, I hadn't quite got as far as I thought when I set these aside to concentrate on other stuff, so these may well end up in 'set aside' again!  They are for presents, but as you well know, I'm not allowing myself to panic.  So my desk looks pretty tidy but for the pages, huh!  Usual suspects, including on the right, my Wipso and Twiglet tidy basket which is full of stamps.  All clean, just waiting to be filed away.  But they're clear stamps and I hate putting them away.  Ugh, what a slacker!
Before I make way for Mr Linky, I need to do a bit of housekeeping.  Angela pointed out that using your link list number where you leave a comment is unreliable because they change.  They don't always.  If I'm asked to remove a link (and very very occasionally if I remove a link because it's a bit over the top in terms of non-compliance!) then the numbers do automatically re-jig.  But if you comment and add your original list number, you won't be too hard to find, within one or two numbers at most....so keep doing it please!
So be compliant and please show us your busy (or chilled) workspace this week...no blatant advertising and please make sure your post title includes the WOYWW acronym....for the ease of those of us that visit way after Wednesday!    I thank you.

  4. Woohoo! #3 on the linky this week! I'm stoked!

I'm making calendars for Christmas gifts too this year. I have some stuff cut out already, but the whole project is really daunting, so I find myself doing other small things instead. Procrastinator = ME! Thanks for your inspiration! And your desk looks awesome this week!!! Lots of fun!

  5. Not sure how I made #1, but here I am snooping on your desk. These calendar pages are great, and yes, they will be ready on time. I have faith in you. BOY, I hate those clear stamps. I haven't found anything, not even a good cleaning that helps them stick to my acrylic blocks. Guess I just have some bad ones.

Gotta admit, I have had some trouble finding people to reply to. I end up just trying to visit everyone and making messes of things. Glad you reminded us again. It never hurts!

  6. I can never produce a clone either - just feels wrong... Great colours - love that rich yellow. You have most definitely led me astray as I too have now accomplished weekly piles of "clean but unfiled" stamps that end up roughing it for a few nights on the sideboard before I muster up the gusto to drag out all their home ground. Hope you are still enjoying the "I made it" after-glow of the card marathon. Well done and hope the rest of your week is filled with being chilled. Sarah.

  7. You... a slacker?!? It took me three days to put a pocket on a page n a mini album. Three days! Apart from the fact that your desk is a hive of activity... you're always doing something. Not a slacker, are you!

  25. Morning! Love your early morning flash reflecting on the window! Boy it's dark at that time of day... I was "late" this morning and didn't wake till the radio came on just after 5.30... normally I'm waiting for it! Love your calendar pages.

  30. I do enjoy seeing your calender pages a flipping by - I may even be inspired to have a go for the year after next (to chocker full this year). I never have picked up on the adding my number but I am who I say I am everywhere (blog, comments and Mr Linky) so I am sure I don't produce confusion.........

  31. Calendar pages are looking good, Julia. I know what you mean about putting stamps away - at least they are clean. I found about ten wood mounted stamps that had been inked and put on the windowsill out of sight when the curtains were drawn and had to clean and move them before the decorating started - Hazel WOYWW #43) x

  32. Just had a light bulb moment (at this time of the morning!) - instead of just putting my name with my WOYWW #, I've turned it into a link, so even if the number did change, the link would take anyone to the right post on my blog - like this - Hazel WOYWW #43) x

  33. Hehehe the numbers do change cos I told everyone last week that I was number 51 and was eventually asked if I was really Kate? :-) :-) :-) I sometimes think blogger plays games with us.

  35. Great desk today..I wouldn't have the patience to do a set of calendar pages. Hats off to you that do. I try to be strict with myself on getting those stamps back to the proper sets, quickly, but that is about the only thing I follow thru with. Sometimes I am so glad I have floor space. Happy WOYWW and enjoy the week. Sylvia #47

  56. Cor the rules are getting complicated! (just kidding), I remember a long time ago reading 'be a good neighbour' in the web world, and the majority of us crafters are!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I did try very hard to remember my number last week, but my fingers were too quick for my poor brain most of the time, and I kept finding that I had posted my comment again without a number. I will try to remember though. I tend not to use the numbers when I am tracking back. I read any comments that I get, then right click on the name and that takes me back to the writer. Your calendars looks wonderful, Julia, and don't worry about them not being the same. Hand crafted things should all be unique, and yours are beautifully unique. Maggie #82

  61. I have just started card making recently and have one little draw with some stuff. I suppose if you have ton of crafting stuff it gets out of control (e.g. my husband's magazines all over the place). With amount of some crafting stuff some people have I would need a separate room for that. I hope that time will never come. Or will it? I have nothing to show today but who knows what future brings.

  76. Hi Julia,

Awesome Calendar pages Julia! Anytime I try to make 2 of anything they turn out like sisters and not identical twins..lol

I have notice quite a few non-compliance over the top blogs....I just don't comment on them. It does time to visit in the first place so that can be a drag.

I don't really care for the ones that combine it with something else, like a challenge or DT work, blah blah.

I don't mind if the posts are a little long, as long as it's sharing personal stuff. I enjoy getting to know the participants. Oh well I am rambling and complaining...

xoxo Marjo #109 Hope you are having a wonderful WOYWW.

  98. Oh Julia my friend.....how do you do it all???? How can you craft, be organized, run a weekly blog that is beyond wonderful and keep it all together??? How do you do it? As far as the fireplace...LMBO, can you put up a false one? Oh, don't laugh! I've done that before on one or more occasions. What people will do, honestly! Use what you've got and make the most of it. No fireplace....that's OK, do you have a staircase, bookshelves, anything that has a space of 6"-12" in width and length doesn't matter? If you have anything like that you can create some Christmas interest! I've done so much with with so little over the years I can do almost anything with nothing, believe me!!! Have a great week Julia!!!
