What's On Your Work Desk? Wednesday 118

No really, this is week 118, I just got it wrong last week.  Surprise!  Actually the real surprise is that I'm no further forward with creating a calm or inviting space to work on and have spent all of five minutes in my workroom in the last 24 hours, which does me no good at all.  Including my sense of panic.  I might be missing the best idea I've ever had!  (Naturally, I'm expecting that idea to come upon me whilst I'm engrossed in some other worthy piece of crafting!

So there you are, full on mess.  The plastic stuff on the right is to become my clear stamp storage; more on that some other time then, and I have bothered to put my glasses at an angle that sort of shows the colour this time, after last week had a lot of you hunting for them.  Apart from such artful placement, the desk is untouched after Monday night.  How sad.
So if this hasn't scared you off, you 're all right to show us your desk.  Or whatever you work at and whatever you're working on.  Please.  We like a look.  Upload a pic to your blog, link back here and slowly slowly, others will call to admire your working method.  And stash. Join us - why not.  Harmless, and free.  Compelling reasons, I'd say!

  29. Oh Julia I'm relieved to see your chaos - all these pristine worktops depress me! I do feel you need clutter for inspiration (that's my excuse). I have 6 yards of worktop and constanly find myself working in a 9" square! I must say I am intrigued by your storage system for stamps as mine are currently scattered on and under the aforesaid worktop -please keep us posted ASAP!!!! xx

  33. so glad I got to see the glasses without gaining a head injury this week, and I await with baited breath the reveal for the cellophane stamp storage, ooh that sounds GOOOOD when it is said out loud... please Do Wander Around in public spaces trying it our for sibilant syllables...

I believe two minutes is long enough to make a mess, and since mostly that is what my craft product looks like i feel more time would only result in more chaos, it's natures way of keeping a modicum control?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Glad it wasn't just me who was confused! I keep having a tidy up but mid-creation it gets a bit chaotic. Good to see yours is the same. xx

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm very intrigued by the plastic for stamp storage and it seems I'm not alone. Sorry, there's no desk from me again this week, but a few more lions!

  59. Well I do see stamps and ink pads on your desk Julia so you must be about to create something!

I know exactly what you mean about the placement of your glasses.
I’m in a slightly different predicament. I need two pairs in the craft room, one for the computer and another for close work. I take one pair off, put them down and they’re never to be seen again, even if I’m looking for them again only five minutes later……..It’s so frustrating!

    Happy Crafting!

  60. Oooh, intrigued by the crafty storage promise. Can always use a better idea. Yes, I see the glasses now. Maybe I needed to put on my glasses to see your glasses. But, pray tell, what color are they that you love so much? My monitor won't divulge that information... Hope you can a steal away to the desk soon!

  70. Terrible. Appalling mess. No wonder your poor spectacles have turned their back on the whole thing. Presumably it all looks smaller from that angle - that IS how spectacles work back-to-front, isn't it?? :D :D :D

  84. I missed out on the Wednesday event this week and flaked out on the Tuesday Tea on my blog. I had some real life important appointments that could not be missed, so I was out the door before most people were awake in y time zone. I'll be back next week, but wanted to say I like that you didn't hide the glasses this week and I could find them with no difficulty.

I look forward to the whinging or whining (as we call it in the States) as you store your clear stamps. Actually, I hope it's a good whinge since I'm always interested in how people store their UMs. Having said that, it looks like I have another message to read. Maybe there will be lots of insight!

BTW, why is it there are 114 Links and only 85 comments? Just my random question of the week, I guess.

  85. Oops, I'm a day late this week! Hope I still qualify. Julia we all get days (and weeks) like that - lots of mess and not a lot to show for it, and frustrating times when we can't get near our desks. Hope you have a really fulfilling week to make up! I've finished my tidying and have done 2 Youtube videos this week!!
