Another correction...WOYWWers, read here!

I am it seems, incapable of using a diary correctly. I clearly need to get back to work! I have the WOYWW anniversary date wrong. It's still week 104 (of course) but that week is actually Wednesday June 1st by my new diary calculation and some very nimble maths from Shaz. And as she's in Australia and everything there is back to front or something, I reckon that makes her a genius. But at least we're on track with week numbers...if you are a weekly hopper, you'll know that yesterday marked week 99, so there's still time. For the PiF, and more mistakes. And if you read this blog relatively regularly, you'll know how often I have to admit to having feet of clay, so you will be unsurprised and taking this in your stride.
So I thought I'd distract you from my stupidity with a couple of shots of my beautiful paper white Tree Peony. Pictures taken on my point and shoot digi and not at all enhanced...that slight white glare is for real. The peony is about 10 years old now and just delivers...pleasure and smiles and a little worry - I worry that any rain after the flowers have burst forth will knock it about. It does, but better that than not experiencing the loveliness at all! There. Makes it all better huh. Makes me feel better - I keep recalling stuff that my sister is putting on her blog at Luscious Life Studios - she's been in freezing temperatures and foot deep snow in Montana. That ain't a break. A climate that forces flowers to do this is just right, thank you! Now I have to go - I can smell cake baking which is a call back to the kitchen. We have bunting to hang and a LOT of traditionally british food to be preparing. I even tried to talk Miss D into wearing my wedding dress tomorrow......a step too far, once again!

  2. Wow that is a gorgeous peony. We have a deep red one in the back garden but ours isn't anywhere near as advanced as yours yet. Isn't it funny how the plants vary? Thanks for dropping by earlier.

  3. You are a plonker! But it's good news as I haven't yet managed to get my backside into gear and now I actually have time to sort something out.

Oh and the peony distraction didn't distract me :-P

    Enjoy your cake :-) xxx

  5. What a gorgeous peony, stunningly bright white! We had a dark red one at home when I was growing up, I love them. I hadn't checked your maths with the date for the 2nd anniversary but at least you found out before!
You mean that your wedding dress won't fit YOU any more for tomorrow???? (don't throw things at me!)

  6. lol good thing I was only going by the WOYWW weekly count up! Isn't that the time standard anyways?

Love your tree peony, I used to have a lovely pink one that smelled of chocolate. Divorce necessitated the sale of the house and the peony had to stay (it was about 40 years old they said). Thank you for the lovely flowers.

  12. Your tree peony is gorgeous! I love peonies - my treee peonies are already gone, they were beautiful this year although they got beaten by some rain. Now I'm waiting for the bush peonies to flower, not very long anymore...

  16. We're a good backwards here in Australia LOL

    ReplyDelete
  17. We're not backwards, just upside down! I'm pleased you got it wrong because I wanted to play but that original date was pretty inconvenient as we are flying interstate that day (if I can ever get around to booking tickets) and I couldn't figure out how I was going to be near a computer. And the peony is gorgeous. Love white flowers!

  27. Hi Julia, the tree peony is beautiful. I scrolled down a bit and had to laugh at you ripping the hem of the jeans to use in your crafting. Those jeans sound sooooo useful!

  28. I love those flowers. So lovely, and there were just in time to celebrate the wedding. Glad to read you celebrated. I even took time to watch it, too. Hope your weekend was as lovely as your flowers.

  29. I am so glad the date was wrong, as I had just decided that I was not at all happy with what i had chosen, and now have the chance to do something I think is better. Also, it would have been difficult as we would have been away, and depending on the vagaries of mobile internet access to take part. Thank you, Shaz, for working that out for us.

  30. Oh no, June. It'll soon be the longest day! I have a map of Iceland to do by June...it's nearly here and I've mislaid my doodlings, what with being away and moving my craft room. Panic! I did start a woyww thing but I'm afraid the bin liked it so much I let it have it! But there's still time. Your flowers are lovely.
    Oh....it's Tuesday already.
