What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday (69)

Oh my giddy aunt...it's not getting any better chez Dunnit! Wipso and Twiglet will be having the vapours and Elizabeth will be trying hard to think of any positive to excuse my mess!

I photographed this on Tuesday as soon as I got home from work. Then I went to my sweet in-laws for a lovely tea, and since then, I've moved the box of Copics - and thereby created loads more space *cough* and made another card or two. It's all good.
See I've re-loaded the ATG monster? well, for the curious amongst you - I weighed it. Fully loaded it weighs 480 grams...just a wisp shy of 1lb. It's kinda top heavy so the weight isn't in the grip and because it works by pulling the trigger it's no harder or easier to use at this newly loaded heavier weight than it is at any other stage really. Anyone else agree?
See I've also progressed to storing my cut'n'dry foams in a separate pot - I tell you, I am seriously joining the big girl crafters! I think the other only interesting thing about this shot is that it really gives away my right handed gene! I'm going to award myself a 9/10 on the scale that Kate keeps - because I think there's still a bit of room to trash!

Right then - show off a bit - upload a photo of your desk to your blog and come on and link it here. It is a great opportunity to 'pimp' your blog, and we all love visitors and comments - well I do! The only membership card is the button you can pick off here and you don't get a discount..you might pick up some customers but mostly and more importantly, you're likely to stumble on a friend. This blogging thing. Shocking good!

  1. Gotta agree on the 9/10 scale, but at least you made a go at cleaning the place after the photo. Seems that ATG is a bit heavy, but it is, after all, industrial grade.

I wish I could see that corner punch a bit better. Happy WOYWW, dear friend. Your mess has made you famous, and we wouldn't trade you (or your desk) for the world. Now the BIG question is, how old is that tea?

  2. I've yet to try an ATG. As it is I have wrestling matches with my snail as it refuses to dispense more than 4 inches of glue at a time. And by at a time I mean without having to open it and shift the gears by hand.

I actually think you might be an 8/10 there is a bit of room on that desk yet and you haven't really gone for the layered look that I'm so fond of :D.

Color me shocked that I'm second.

  3. still room for plenty on your desk - or "a little extra" ;)

  5. Hi!
Lovely, creative desk as always! I love your marker storage. I don't have any copics, that's right '0' zero, none! yours look so yummy it makes me want to get some too!

  6. The black wheelie thing on top of the left hand spool in my ATG thingy doesn't stay in place and rattles around inside sometimes. It doesn't seem to affect performance, but what am I doing wrong? I don't notice the weight when full, it's just one monster machine!

  7. oh my... fabulous mess, unlike mine which is VERY tidy!! NOT!! lol couldn't even show it!! never got on with an ATG gun.. do have one, only comes out when I feel I can cope with the tangled mess I always make with it!
    Happy woywwing!

  10. Good Morning Julia!!!! I'm running with the big girls this morning too - got on here in the top 20! LOL Lucky you - I'd like to find some time to actually do some crafting for a change. I think I'm permanently on that Carousel you showed us a pic of the other day!

    ReplyDelete
  11. I don't have an ATG gun just good old fashioned double sided tape and glue! I'm sure that you could fit another half a dozen things on there if you were really determined!!! Love all those Copics.

  12. #13 - I tried, truly I did, to just walk away from you desk without a comment other than on the ATG ... but couldn't resist it and popped back to have another look ..... even for us messie crafters, that is a doozie of a desk this week ...... well done in the mess stakes, I am only just behind you though.

  15. Omigod I've made myself late now! Still, near the front of the list, yippee!

I've just started a separate pot for my cut'n'dry - great minds think alike? Or something less flattering, lol? x

  16. Wow Julia what a desk, you have been very busy, first thing I noticed was that corner crunch thing on the left LOL. Least your pens are still tidy LOL. Wanted to ask you a question Julia, I have tried to schedule my post today but it did not work. I typed it and then entered the time for it to schedule but no it did not load onto my blog at the said time. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Hope you don't mind me asking only you schedule yours quite frequently. Many thanks, Tracy Evans x x

    ReplyDelete
  17. I can definately craft space down at the bottom is that the 1? :) - mine didn't respond to schedules blog either, but it is all new and shiney to use.

  18. morning Julia your desk looks as busy as ever

  19. I think you have loads of space on your desk, Julia!! Why you can see the space where you make stuff..... Have a great day.

  20. Wow I take it you will be using the push back method this week:-) like the crown stamp. Hugs Pam x

  21. I so want one of them ATG , they look amazing and every one is raving about them.
My desk is as bad ( or is that good) as your so thats all good with me.. nice to see it like it, means we are very active in our work. although , Imine is just a dumping ground at the mo,lol

  22. You know the more chaotic a desk - the more inviting I think. And the more realistic. A month ago I had a huge clean clear up and it all looked so surreal I just kept staring at it and not doing anything. When the dust out-layers your embossing powders - well, then a quick spruce up might be necessary...
Thanks for this great blog - and P.S. to answer your question from last week - What is the big chunk of wood on my photos? I had to think - ...is that my husband, oh no, it is an old bench in the back garden made from old planks...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hehehe the mess I've had this weekend has even beat yours this week.....mine included lots of brick dust! But of course you've guessed it....It's all cleaned up ready for work to resume on Monday morning :-)

  24. Morning Julia, wow loads going on again this week. I really need to clear mine up today. You never see the other side of my craft room, its such a mess, everything is just thrown onto the old arm chair there. Thanks for sharing and have a lovely week. Sorry i missed meeting you at Ali Pali, maybe next year?

  29. Morning Julia I think I'm coming to the conclusion it doesn't matter how much room we have we still end up with the same 5" square of working space! Have a great day. Hugs, Gez.xx

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wow a very busy desk today. Lovely load of copics there. Its a bit like mine today and I am wandering if I have any space to craft.

  31. Oh you hav a giddy aunt too, how strange. Do you think it's catching?? Good Morning...still here, late?? yes,but who cares, this is sooo much more fun! I've noted well over twelve (I lost count) ATG monster's on my rounds, and wondered how heavy they were but also wondered how long they lasted, but of course that's like asking how long is a piece of string, as it depends on how much, and what you use it for, doesn't it? Have a great day, I'm off now...spoes I'd better go... I'd rather be crafting
    ((Lyn))

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hi Julia - creative chaos is good ! Too tidy & you won't feel like starting something - too much like blank page syndrome !
I have a jam jar for my cut & dry foam pieces and keep "jamming!" them in - but after a while they protest and spontaneously erupt in a lava like way onto my desk !! Your more open pot looks like a better option !!

    ReplyDelete
  33. The ATG does seem to be a bit of a monster....but I wouldn't swap mine for anything else!

    ReplyDelete
  34. A creative crafty mess .... what more could we crafters ask for ...... the desk wouldn't be you Julia without it LOL. Have a fab day. Hugs, Claire x

    ReplyDelete
  35. wow, you are early today! and my desk is a mess this week too!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ah you lucky girl having such a messy desk! At least the mojo is there and you are doing things! Who cares about the mess - interesting that the gun weight is almost a 1lb! I am thinking of buying one myself - I have one already but it is another make and I have so much problems getting the refills I am giving up!
    Hugs,
    Cardarian

    ReplyDelete
  37. Oh that desk is certainly busy. At least everything is to hand! I understand that decorating those ATGs is the 'in' thing. Surely that would make them even heavier? Good luck using it.

  38. OMG, my Aunt just went a bit giddy indeedily seeing your mess, I mean desk ROFL.. a busy desk is a sign of a... erm... untidy crafter LMAO... thanks for sharing hun... my desk is uber tidy and I fear this polished halo of mine may just strangle me LOL x

    ReplyDelete
  39. hi hun

love the fact that you moved those gorgeous copics to make some room, another technique that I could adopt. Would have been another 10/10 if you had not lol

  44. Sorry I've been AWOL lately, but I'm back! I love looking at your desk, it's always so much messier than mine that it makes me feel all virtuous and good, so you are therefore providing a valuable public service! Keep up the good work ...

    ReplyDelete
  45. Wow - I'd love all those Copics - I think you've got a lot more room on that desk to mess up still! Just wanted to say I really love this WOYWW

    ReplyDelete
  49. wow julia you do look well and truly stuck in there!! lol

    ReplyDelete
  50. Never a truer word said about blogging :)

As for that cut 'n' dry foam. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but the ink just soaks into it and doesn't move around at all - maybe I need to be less impatient and give it another go.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Hi Julia - maybe when I finished Wipso's ironing on Monday (Poor thing had been up to her eyes in demolition dust this weekend!) I should have nipped over and cleared your desk!! As long as you have a bit of room to work, why worry. lol

    ReplyDelete
  52. Great desk! I love looking at all these desks as I see loads of things that are totally new to me. Not sure about the glue gun, I was thinking of getting one but I think it might take up to much space in the suitcase that I can use for other things.

    Cathx

  53. defo a 9/10, well done. So long as you have just enough space to keep creating, well the rest doesn't matter! Sorry for such a long absence, missed my WOYWW like crazy, not going to do it again!

The first thing to catch my eye on your desk was those Copics - I would love to give them a try! Sorry, no desk shot again - it's been so hot I haven't wanted to hang around long enough to take a picture of my mess! Our weather is backwards here - summer was cool - autumn is brutal!

    Have a great day!

  58. I've not got an ATG I'm good with Pritt Stick and my glue gun, do they leave you with the backing paper like normal DST? If they made less waste than DST I might consider trying one out.

Clean up your desk! :P I can talk mine's looking a pit just lately.

Totally agree on the SU stamps they want their cake and eat it I think and don't really like the idea of sets, paying for stamps you don't like in the pack! Some of the new stamp packs extortionate, nearly £30, for once I left well along and I can tell you that's a first!!!! Have a lovely weekend. nnalorac.xx

  110. Oooh er! I'm last, late and I don't know what happened as I posted my WOYWW desk very early and I think I was no 13! Where did it go? Now I'm 144.
I was on holiday last week and my desk was the dining table looking out to sea. I was up so early ( 6 am) with my little grandee and it all seems to have gone pear shaped. Had trouble posting comments but I'm home now and will try to catch up.
Love your desk Julia with all it's colourful goings on. You've certainly been busy and you realtionship with MrJCB/ATG is developing.
