An interview with erm, moi

Yesterday was a biggy! How thrilling to see so many desks and to find European friends joining in - I know we all say it - but ain't this blogging thing great.

There were quite a few questions in the massive list of comments yesterday, I thought it would be good to answer them all at once:
1. No Linda. You can send as many pairs of flip flops as you like, I probably won't decorate them. Neither, probably, will I return them. I'm just too lazy - or busy, you choose!

2. No. I didn't stand on a chair to take my workdesk photo - honest. Those of you that know me personally will attest to my amazingly long and graceful stature that allows my arms to become elastic and erm, long.

3. Hey Kathy - no, they aren't for you. Anything that makes your toes curl is a bad thing!

4. Peel Offs - yeah, I use 'em; mostly teeny words from Woodware and Francise Read's collections. Oh, and when people want impossible words on a card and I don't have the stamp. And when I want to use them for frivolous, speedy reasons.

5. Am so sorry Kaz, the jar of Primas might as well be glued shut, I haven't opened it for almost as long as it's been in the way on my desk!

6. Kathryn - we did break the 100 mark this week as you can see - to be honest, I'm surprised when even one person bothers to WOYWW, so it's all a bit of a thrill really!

7. Betty - will you write me a reference please? I have never, ever, in my life been described as hyper-active. It's like giving me a medal. But I can't come and collect it because, well, I'm busy sitting down.

8. Angie - the espadrilles are in the bottom at the back of the cupboard under the stairs. In a box marked 'china' from when you moved in. With my DD's baby clothes. True.

9. Yes Annette, way too much information...am reassured however, that your computer technician doesn't suffer his shiny armour without underpants....chafing, ouch.

10. Not a question from Kirsty, but she reminds me to say: It doesn't matter if you don't visit all the desks, and if you do and it takes a week, it doesn't matter, it's just some fun...but if you do swing by a desk on your travels, leave a comment!

11. No, I didn't say I was altering the flip flops...your minds do not need to boggle. I said I'd stuck buttons on them. And now you've read this far, and been besieged by pictures of them, it's safe to assume that my chum was happy with them, thank goodness!

  1. I simply cannot believe you won't do mine ... I thought you were a better person than that ... some might even say a Duchess ... I only have a couple of hundred pairs ... a few days work at most ... I am now sulking :0)
P.S I sulk loudly so please don't expect any peace :0)
PP.S What did you start?? ... it is Thursday and I still have 30 something desks to visit :0)

  4. Don't listen to Linda, you are better than that, you don't have to alter other people's flip flops to be 'better than that' After all wasn't it you who started this wonderful cult. If she's sulking loudly just turn up the volume on your CD player or turn your speakers off hehe. The flip flops look fab, love the buttons ;) Now never mind altering (altering the way they look is altering Julia!) people's flip flops how are you when it comes to altering 2 pairs of trousers and a t-shirt?
BTW do you visit everyone who puts a link or just the ones that actually leave a comment on here as I noticed there were more links than comments?

  5. They are lovely flippity floppies and I may have to do a pair with buttons on myself.
So long as you keep the flowers on the desk and shuffling them from place to place I shall live in hope they will be used.
I'm off to look at a few more desks as I didn't get round to many yesterday. I can't believe how many join in now xxx

  6. I had a big pink fat pair once, with enormous pink flowers on them...ummm. I tripped over the flower and landed on my face! (Ouch!) These look lovely, I should think they won't trip any one up, they will just make someone's feet look even better!

  9. Lovely flip flops, almost makes me wish I could wear that type of foot wear. But I can't, they hurt my toes. Apart from that I would never ever ever ever ever ever EVER inflict my manky old toes on the unsuspecting public either. Vomit between the toes, I suspect, is not a nice feeling ;)

  26. Fab Flipfloppers and so much better than the ones we saw in Southampton!!!!! did you use the heat glue gun or another method?

    ReplyDelete
  27. They're gorgeous! So much lovelier than an imported 'fancy' pair! You must make yourself some too.

  28. Julia you are an inspiration to us all girl! Keep right on sitting down, being thoroughly lazy (and unapologetic about it), NOT altering things you don't feel like doing, using peel-offs, and hiding stuff you want to forget about. Let's start a sitting down revolution - we could have badges that said "do it yourself, can't be bothered" and we could have meet ups except that we'd probably never get round to it .....

  29. oooh what a fantastic idea! I love 'em thanks for sharing I am definitely going to be making some!

  30. I think I'll buy me a pair of flip flops and decorate it. Great idea! I haven't gotten around to visiting all the WOW desks as my son keeps complaining if I have so many tabs open on my laptop. His PS3 playing slows down!

  31. Love them .. so funky ,... me want a pair or three ,,, now where did I put all them buttons I kept ( Ok some I did MAKE fall off ( well far to pretty for Jeans) ..)

  32. Great chuckle old chum and loved all the response! Just what I needed for a Friday after the bleeping (albeit short)week at work I've had.

A2 - I admit to also being very impressed with the height from which your WOYWW photo was taken ..... Surpassed only by the numbers of WOYWWers this week. Oh and, A8 - I don't suppose my favourite but AWOL stamp is in that very box perchance?

    Great flip flops, btw :-D

  33. This is a fabulous idea, love em, Jay xx

  34. you are hilarious... whats that about metal underpants (or something)!!!

love the flip flops that you have clearly altered - i'm going to get the definition of altered and post it here as a comment LOL...

p.s. it's 2.50am Sunday morning, I can't sleep - i don't know how many desks i've done or still have to do but both numbers are lots....

thanks for hosting again...I hope to be around for the forseable future wednesdays - in person and not showing a hospital desk LOL
