What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 773

The last week has been quite overwhelming, not for any bad or sad reasons, just tiring and ridiculously busy. Amongst other things, it's been lovely but emotional to move my sweet Mother In Law into her new home. Partial other thing...the process for advising change of address is absolutely a nightmare in some cases and swift, easy and almost a pleasure in others. I've spent over three hours on the phone to a single utility company this week. Arrrrgh. So what you find on my desk...even more images to go on change of address cards. Another 10 needed and a lovely way to ignore the neglected housework and do some cutting and colouring! The desk is almost at the point of being unusable it's so untidy, but that won't last, some very real deadlines for an ATC and a scrapbook page for a Chinese Whispers round means that I need to focus. See that lovely ATC just above the birdhouse images? that's the swap I've received for this month....now you get the motivation, it is somehow embarrassing to get the swap before I've made the swap if you see what I mean!
I neglected visits last week and I'm very sorry and feel that I missed out, this week will not be so; if you have already forgiven me, can I have my share of last week's biscuits as well as today's? I plan to make some Easter biscuits before Miss Dunnit and the Current Squeeze come home, but so far my plan is already a bit, well, falling apart! I hope you all enjoy a spring warm and comfortable Easter weekend.

Oh my what a busy tiring week you've had, double biscuits here, no probs.
Love the house images and how you interlocked them upside down too.
    And breathe.... BJ

  9. Hello Julia, I'm back and having spent the last three months sorting out the 'estate' I can definitely feel your pain. The hours we have to spend listening to excruciating 'music' ought to earn us a medal at the very least.

Love the image you're using to make the COA cards. I hope your mother-in-law settles in quickly and enjoys her new abode.

Hope this week is a better one for you. Hugs, Elizabeth

  10. Love the little birdhouse image and glad your MIL's move went well, IO hope she's happy in her new home. I can't offer double biscuits this week, we are onto the hot cross buns here! I hope you get the swap made and the biscuits baked and have a lovely Easter.

  11. You definitely deserve double biscuits and hot cross buns this week, Julia! Plus a coffee (real) though your cuppa ATC is smart.
Take care, have a happy Easter and happy WOYWW

  13. Hi Julia! Glad your MIL is nicely moved and settled in. Your change of address cards are so cute! It's nice to be busy, I think, makes for good nighttime sleeps! This will be our first Easter without Jasper and family, so we have invited some neighbors over for dinner. Have a lovely easter weekend with your DD! Happy Easter! Lindart #14

  14. Love your little houses for that address change. I feel the same, time flying by and messes everywhere. Just trying to keep up with another close friends wife dying....and whatever else pops up hourly. Your ATC is cute. ENJOY your Holiday and HAPPY whatever comes your way

  15. Hi, Julia!
So glad your mother-in-law is settled in her new home! Your change of address images are adorable!

    You are forgiven!

  16. Yay - only taken me a week to fix the issue with me being "anonymous" according to Blogger..... LOL

Bless your lovely MIL - it's not easy moving them at this age. Mine went into a care home a month ago and my sister had to deal with all the hassle. We've yet to sort out Mum's bungalow, probably won't till she shuffles off to Buffalo, but she's not taking the move well. :( Ah well....

Your cards are very lovely, my friend. But yes, perhaps get that swap done!

  17. Yep I tend to leave my most current 12x12 LOs out hanging from the picture until I do the next ones. The family 8x8 album is open on son's bed and I see it when I do the curtains in there each day which makes me smile. Hugs BJ#11

  18. Goodmorning Julia. Wowzah, quite some tasks on your plate, I too wonder how you manage sometimes, and keeping woyww up for so many years while there are so many other things to take care of... love the little houses and the ATC you received, coffee, yay! (Or maybe it is tea?) Have a lovely Easter-weekend dear! Hug from Holland, Marit #2

  19. Sorry, I did not really comment, just whinged about there being no Linky. Well, it wasn't a whinge it was more a note to let you know I had been here. Then I stole the no 1 spot from Helen and felt bad.
Isn't it annoying when the people on the other end of a phone don't just deal with you straight away. It's all this press 5 for xyz and when you do it's press 3 if you want abc and so on. Then they leave you hanging around for ages and suddenly you get cut off. Now that is a whinge! My heart goes out to you dear Julia, you are doing a super job with your MIL but it seems never ending at times. Nice to know she appreciates it all.
    Hugs, Neet 1 xx
