What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 759

I've moved back into my workroom for this week's photo, the dining table surface is still erm, busy. Fortunately now, it's small piles of presents or cards, or cake, chutney and fudge to be distributed as I go out and about in the next few days. But the desk....well of course it needs a btidy.
But before I tidy that, which really isn't too daunting, I have to tackle this...
Because I need the work surface space - to at least lean on whilst I put baskets back onto the shelves! I'm driven to distraction by the A3 paper that we need for the printer. The tray won't carry even half a ream and when it needs refilling, it somehow is never put away properly. Interesting that actually, I haven't yet got a 'proper' place for it, so putting away isn't easy anyway. Argh. I think cupboard doors would make everything look tidier but I really prefer the way it all works without.
Now, you don't need me to tell you that this time next week it will all be over, good grief. Nevertheless, there are still days to go, so if you've time and inclination, please show what you're up to. This is scheduled because I'm out in the morning, but it won't hold me up for long. So it may be tea, not coffee, but after a marathon making stint yesterday, we have mince pies...just ask!

  2. Well done on your organisation, sounds like you're ready. I won't be home for Christmas Day but only a one night stay so still need to get food for my own Christmas dinner a few days later and I am still working... nor i have wrapped the presents but they won't take too long. Home made mince pies are always good, so count me in later!! happy WOYWW and a very Merry Christmas to you and the family. Helen #2 xx

  3. Ooh, you got me at Fudge!! Thankfully no more presents to wrap, at least I don't think so. Am pretty much on top of the prep for the day but today is a bit topsy turvy with the suite being delivered and another being (hopefully) taken away.
Home made mince pies sound good think I might make some more as I need a different type of pastry to make. Any good recipes?
    Hugs, Neet 3 xx

  4. I would love a mince pie!!
It sounds as though you are pretty organised with things to distribute. My gifts are all wrapped and ready to pass on...in the meantime I am still managing the odd journal page!
Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year!

  5. Anywhere I make my mess is fair game to be called a desk. I do try not to combine cake and ink- thankfully this time of year that can be a challenge-
Over? ALA as there is pie or cake adn tea, it's just beginning. Happy everything to you!

  9. Happy WOYWW. I love to have most stuff hidden away - except for precious stuff that I want to look at every day. However, you need to organise to suit yourself. The first tip is to declutter, and then declutter more! Then you can see what you are truly working with and get it stored/organised to suit your crafting. In your case, before even decluttering, I would make a place for the A3 paper which is easy to access. I use an old bathroom trolley to hold all my printing paper. Will have a mince pie next Christmas - even if gluten free I can't have them at the moment, as they have apple in them. I keep telling myself it is only for a few more weeks. Ali x #13

  12. I love a mince pie! You sound very organised so a bit of untidiness is nothing to stress over.
How about a curtain to hide your shelves when you’re not working?
Enjoy your Christmas and happy WOYWW

  15. YAY I made it! I totally agree, things "need" a special place to be and then they get put back, or so you would expect... Anyway I'm sending you tidying vibes and I hope it all gets nestled into order soon. Hugs and have a super Christmastime. BJ#17

  16. I'll forgo the mince pies Julia, but tea is always acceptable. Cupboard doors would look neater, but the contents would not be as accessible in my humble opinion. Wishing you a Great Christmas Angela #18

  17. Oh I love mince pie, it's been awhile It's amazing how fast these days fly by. I did receive your adorable card. Hoping yours arrives safely. I'm not tiding up so I hope there's no surprise visitors for overnight as those beds are topped with "STUFF...LOTS of STUFF " We will go to son's home the following week. EXCITED as 2 College grands are home. ENJOY....feet up and a Toddy in hand. Merry, Merry.

  19. Well, I popped out and then the day took an unexpected turn - so I'm really late getting back on line. I'll take one of those mince pies to have with my late night Bailey's although I would prefer the fudge. Good luck with the tidying - you really do need to find a spot for that paper or it will drive you mad forever. Merry Christmas my lovely, catch you next week. Love n hugs Cindy xx

  20. Crikey! Looks like my comment got eaten but here I am again to say HI and Happy Xmas! LOL about the paper. My A3 printer died a horrible death recently. Had to get a new one. Weirdly it feeds SIDEWAYS, which will take some getting used to for sure. I still have a bit of baking to do as Dear Son and his Pretty Girl will arrive tomorrow for our early festivities. Always the way when there is another family in the mix! Thy will spend at least part of the day with hers so we will do a 23rd 25th instead - after a night of walking around Stourhead for the lights. I am thinking we are looking at 3 turkeys (between Xmas and Thanksgiving) unless I can persuade SOMEONE who believes that Xmas isn't Xmas unless there is turkey on the day...Lucky I make a killer soup from the bones and we all love turkey sandwiches! Have the most lovely holiday week and see you for the final 2023 WOYWW in a surprisingly short amount of time LOL!
    Happy Christmas WOYWW!

  22. Popping over to wish you and yours a Happy, healthy Christmas Julia. I know it has been such a long time since I last visited but time is never on my side these days. I often think of you and all at WoywW.
Nice you see that your desk is looking well loved and used, life is really too short to keep on tidying away for us to get it out again..
Happy Christmas & Winter blessings to you and yours.
