What's on your Workdesk? Wednesday 732

This week has been taken up with glorious weather and visits to family with family; my big sister and her husband are here from Idaho and we have done a lot of visiting!
The desk isn't quite as same old as I thought actually...look at these

Some' old' looking ephemera (freshly printed, for sure,) and facsimiles of account books printed on A5, I have no idea where they fit within my craft needs or style, but I had to have them because they were extraordinarily cheap. Likewise the roll of handmade stickers; the other roll is Washi tape postage stamps. Really nice. I got them with a very slow delivery off a website called Temu that kept bugging me on Facebook! One of those where they offer you stuff for a penny for your first purchase. It seems to sell everything, put me in mind of a dollar store or something like it. Happy with these bits and pieces....and at least while I'm too busy to be at the desk, I can be thinking about what on earth I can use them for! If you can force yourself into the house to blog, we'd love to see what you're doing and what shape your Workdesk takes in theses summer months!
Put WOYWW in your title please, makes finding the right post easier if someone's running behind (cough) and link here. Sending you ice cream and flip flop vibes...

  2. I find Temu interesting. Cheaper than Wish and lots of new stuff. We got out cat playpen from them. I love your ephemera, so lovely. Image a world where people still wer able to hand write like that?! Wow. Still sunny, humm? Doubt it’ll last…

  3. I am in love with those vintage looking images. I can see them as backgrounds. I also am in awe of that washi tape and those stickers. Mostly the washi tape because I love postage stamps. Glad you are having a great time with your sister and her husband. I bet they are hot if your weather is the same as most of the UK this week. Here in the states, most people have air conditioning. I was surprised tp learn last year that most of the UK does not.

  5. How special to have time with your family....nothing quite like it [it's so lovely to just put the kettle on for a quick cuppa and catch up with mine]. Have fun with your new stash when you get a free minute.
    Hugs,

  7. Hi Julia, sounds like you've been having a good time though at first when I saw the papers I thought you were working doing some accounting or something. It's been really hot here and I would have loved to have gone to the coast but hubby is still doing his tour of England, he's somewhere in Staffordshire this week. Look forward to seeing how you use the new stash. Happy woyww, Angela x7x

  8. Oh my, try and get me OUT of the curtained closed house in this hot weather more like!! Think I have been bugged by the same craft store on FB too, is it the one with dies for £1, tempted but not fallen yet... Watch this space, you may be an enabler - LOL. Love what you have bought all very vintage. Looking forward to shopping in Asda today as it will be nice and cool in there, I've been so hot all night my hands and feet felt like they were going to burst!. BJ#10

  9. Love your purchases and what a lot of things you can use them for. I am sure they will find a place in a LO or two at some time in the future.
I would use them as bits and pieces on ATC's, in my various journals and even on some birthday cards (thinking DH here who is a mathsy type person)
Temu has had a bad write up and so I would never have gone near it but now you are making me wonder!!
Have a good week, how wonderful to be able to spend this sunshine with your sister.
    Hugs, Neet 9 xx

  11. How lovely to have your sister and husband visit. I refuse to order from China because of poor delivery, poor quality and no refunds. I was 9n Sainsburys the other day and decided to look at some wellingtons - made in China, then I looked at underwear - made in China 🤪. I am echoing Neet’s words on Temu. Enjoy your family time x Angela #11

  12. Helloooo! from me to your sis and hubby. They certainly picked the right week!
I haven't tried temu yet, I use AliExpress when I can be bothered to wait . . . I have to weigh up the waiting time versus cost thing.
Enjoy the rest of the time with your sister, they are so very precious

  13. Good morning, Miss Julia!
Visits with family are usually double-edged. Glad you're enjoying their visit!
I do love those digitals you have there.
I buy my postage washi from a family owned business in FL called Spectrum Art Creations. They do ship all over the world.
    Hugs & Creative Blessings! ~Kelly

  14. Aw! Temu! Yes, I am afraid I am addicted! I was given the link by a woywwer, and now I'm ordering Christmas pressies as well as crafty stash. My local charity crafty shop, had to close down, so I'm missing all their bargains...their last day was, fill a doggy poo bag for a £1! So temu kinda feeds my deep quest and need for all that shines and is crafty! Yes, I have really nice washi tape now and papers and stickers and stamps and dies ...ps...can't link ...I'm on my phone...tell Susan I received her lovely atc!! (Lyn) no number...

  15. OOps - forgot to leave a comment!! I had to laugh at 'it was extraordinarily cheap' which certainly influences me and is probably how I have accumulated so many odds and ends. Nice to have family visiting and to be able to make the most of the sunshine. Have a good week, Love n hugs Cindyxx #13

  16. love family and good weather and finding them together is a gift. Please dont buy from Temu. it is a company that steals artists designs and make cheap copies in factories with terrible wages and working conditions. I know it looks appealing, and in reality it is appalling. I know you support indie artists , and this company directly harms them. Enjoy what you already have and give some thought to paying. bit more for the real thing.

  17. Hi Julia, not joining in with a post bit just looking in to see what you're up to. Lovely to have your sister visit. I've been shopping at Temu too and really like the new storage I bought. Hugs, Elizabeth x
