I haven’t spent more than about an hour at my desk since last Wednesday and I don’t like it. But, yesterday I did something to quell my rising panic about a couple of deadlines that are approaching. I finished a very tricky theme of an ATC for a swap. It’s a steampunk theme. I had to literally rake through all of my stash. I‘ll try to remember to photograph it once it’s dry…I had to use silicone and real old fashioned wet glue to stick some bits of metal on it. That’s why there’s a small herd of alcohol inks on the desk. My word, they haven’t been used for years. They coloured the bits of metal a bit though, so they still do their job which is impressive. Also, of course, and slightly unmissable is the lumpy badge maker. I had a couple of cards that needed rude badges, and of course, I haven’t put it away yet…I will later today though, I will be needing the space. I’ve actually had an idea for my anniversary ATCs which I think may work!
So what are you doing with the crafty part of your brain this week? Tell and show, please!
I don't think my brain is working full stop this week! But I've made some atcs although I didn't really follow the theme....I hope you get some crafty time soon! Helen #1
ReplyDeleteI get testy when I can’t do something crafty, so I am right there with you. Looking forward to seeing your steampunk ATC, but also curious about the rude badges!

That Steampunk ATC sounds cool Julia - looking forward to seeing the finished version when you can show it. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #4
ReplyDeleteJust seen Helen's comment about not being able to follow the theme - what is the theme? Must admit am struggling with the atc's but then I seem to be struggling with lots of things. Is it my age or is it seasonal?
ReplyDeleteGood to9 see you are on a roll with some Steampunk atc's and badges too - so that is what the big red thing is - a badge maker. Cool!

ps I hope there's no theme for our swap cos mine are all made now.
Oh my, that's some hefty badge maker! I just have a kids "Badge-it" machine which isn't that great, now I understand why! Not had my alcohol inks out in years either, and still haven't LOL! I was so inspired by the message last week that I made 12 ATCs for the SWAP - scary I know and also got back on the scrapping wagon - woo hoo. Hugs BJ#9
ReplyDeleteOh my look at your badge maker Julia 🤩😍🥰 it's huuuuge and I looove it, need to take a pic to show you mine next week 😘 love me a badge maker 🤸♀️❤️💕⭐️😍 can you tell, lol!!
ReplyDeleteYour herd of alcohol inks are being verrry well behaved all standing together ☺️ I'm looking horward to seeing your steam punk ATC's along with your badges 😘
Sending much love and hugs across the miles Tracy #11 xxxxxx
P.S
Have I missed the post about the ATC's? Xxxx
Wow that badge maker looks a satisfying bit of kit, I can just imagine the satisfying ‘whomp’ as that handle comes down. My new craft room looked so tidy and lovely with all the new shelving I could have imagined myself a video blogger - then all my crap started to go in. Still it might inspire me to actually get rid of some stuff. Have a great week, love n hugs Cindyxx
ReplyDeleteI do like a bit of steam punk now and again and will look forward to seeing your ATC. Your badge maker’s impressive!
ReplyDeleteTake care and happy WOYWW

ReplyDeleteRude badges eh? Think you might have to make some for the Deskers *grin*. I love steampunk as you know so it would be interesting to see a close up of the finished ATC!

Hmm - rude badges? Do I want to know? Quite possibly :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing your steampunk ATC.
I have not seen a badge maker like that before - did you used to make a lot of them?
Happy WOYWW. Angela # 16
Good morning, Miss Julia
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking on my ATC as well.
Go you on the steampunk. Just not something I've been able to get in to. I hope you'll show your ATCs when you're able.
Creative Blessings & Hugs! Kelly #17
Happy WOYWW. Late today. My days seem to drift by, with lots of resting needed. Got some rough ideas for ATCs, so will start on them in a couple of weeks. I would love to make badges, but I don't use them myself so, like so many other things I like, I will just keep happy thoughts in my head. I expect the Print On Demand sites make badges - will investigate that. A simpler way of getting some badges made for a project (thinking my mum's birthday). Ali x #18
ReplyDeleteNo crafters desk is tidy but most of us know where things are. Ani
ReplyDeleteI LOVE tools and this badge maker is AWESOME. Now I see how you made all those badges you sent out in years past.
