I finished the LOs that were erm, laying about last week. Filed ‘em. There’s a story to it, I’ll tell you about it at some point…flicking through my current album to file newly completed LOs isn’t always a joy of memories preserved! Anyway, I’ve moved on to starting an ATC challenge with a theme that frankly, scares me. Which is why you can see my ephemera boxes making an appearance, namely the ‘metals’ and ‘wooden’s’ at this point. There’s an air pump mica spray at right (above the pink highlighter). The Ida is that it doesn’t block up with mica and sprays a fine mist to the last drop. It does, but not until it’s dribbled and squirted all over everything to start with. Sheesh, I need to remember that - and to remember that the trajectory of the ‘mist’ is really unfathomably, disproportionately enormous. Also at last, I’ve found a pot to put the cut up foam tape in. It has a lid, a wide base and is heavier than the paper cup; it’s centre of gravity significantly reduces the chances of having to pick up a kerjillion foam pads. Result!
We’re five woywws away from the anniversary, this is just a heads-up if you need planning time to make an ATC for the swap. Meanwhile, please keep showing and telling! Kettle is officially on!
I'm glad you finished the LOs and I hope we see them at some stage. They can't seem to make sprays that spray where you want them, can they?! I always get sucked in to buying new ones thinking , oh maybe this will be different.... Well done on finding a pot for the foam pads. Happy WOYWW Helen #1
ReplyDeleteFive weeks? Blimey, better get thinking about what I’m going to do for the ATCs! I’m relieved the foam pads are safe because you’d have been cursing if they were knocked everywhere.

I was really hoping to see the LOs to give me some incentive to get back to mine. My son has since broken up with his girlfriend so the ones with her in will be difficult, especially Christmas when we met her for the first and probably now the last time and she was lovely too. They are still friends but Germany is a long way they decided especially in the long term.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, enough, glad to see the desk is still sort of tidy and that you have sorted the foam before the inevitable! The ephemera boxes has sparked a theme for my ATCs thanks...5 weeks away, oh my need to get a wiggle on. Hugs BJ#5
Lovely tidy desk there today but now get it messy...I'm beginning to get twitchy :-)
ReplyDeleteMy 14 ATCs are now finished and are on my desk today...you know me, I like to be prepared [I was a brownie briefly]
Hugs,

Ugh. Mica spray. Same issue with the darn gloss spray, which I love, but which clog despite all the so called "tips" I did find cheaper replacement nozzles that fit the bottles and I kinda use them then replace the new nozzle with the old one and dump the new ones in hot water to clean. Dry, ready for next time. I imagine if I were using them every day I would not have the issues I do :) Looking forward to seeing those completed layouts, and like you, I may have bitten off more than I can chew on the ATCs...

The sprays are a pain I agree, if they have mica in they always seem to clog up but warm water helps to clear the nozzle but all that messing about puts me off being bothered with them. My favourite thing is to have a day outside and use lots of them to create several backgrounds and keep them for later. I think I may have a plan for the ATCs so we'll see. Have a lovely and creative woyww. Hugs, Angela x7x
ReplyDeleteI have so many sprays it is ridiculous. They clog so easily and then i buy new and so the stash keeps growing. Well, that was 'then' but now I just give up and use them with a paintbrush when I remember to use them at all. That plus the mess of getting a spray booth out puts me off spraying. Maybe `I can have one day in the sunshine on the lawn and paint the grass.

Wow that is a very tidy desk and only 3 pairs of scissors!! Oh yes those sprays can be very messy even with a spray box and it's amazing how far they can go. A bit like paint splatter - amazes me how I can hit everything but the piece of paper I am aiming at. Happy WOYWW!! Love n hugs Cindyxx #9
ReplyDeleteGlad you managed to finish all those layouts Julia and found a better pot for your foam pads. I have set aside time in the calendar to make an ATC for the anniversary but am not sure if I will get more than one made. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #11
ReplyDeleteHi there Julia, I always have fights with sprays... all kinds of sprays... be it glue, or ink, or 'whatever': those bottles hate me somehow so I hardly touch them anymore (well, maybe the dylusions ink, when they're in a good mood they thread me nicely) Your desk looks pretty tidy indeed! I'm glad you found a 'system' for the foam pads, enjoy creating ATC's! Big hug from the Netherlands!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. I gave up on any sort of crafty spray a few years ago - in fact any messy crafting. I was saying to a friend that I don't know why I have kept some of my inkpad and embossing powder collection - I never use them. I feel some more decluttering coming on. Ali x #13
ReplyDeleteThat mica spray sounds vicious. Glad you finished your LOs though. Enjoy creating your ATCs. I’ve decided on a theme for mine, and will enjoy making them once I’ve got the cover sorted.
ReplyDeleteTake care and happy WOYWW

Tidy desk?? How's that going to inspire us? lol
ReplyDeleteGlad you finished your layouts and I haven't even thought of a theme for my ATCs yet . . . Maybe today's the day to think . . . it is a sitting day after all . . .
Have a good week

Having got lost reading the previous post, I came to comment and thought the comments don't relate! I had to go back and read today's post:) Love the quilt under your egg bowl by the way. I have to agree with everybody, those sprays are a nightmare. I believe if you thoroughly clean them after use they perform better, I must try that. It is amazing how far the spray reaches. Hubby driving me mad with spring clearance. He insisted on me getting rid of books yesterday, today we have gone though all the towels! I thought we were meant to be packing for the holiday! Happy WOYWW Angela #15
ReplyDeleteGood morning, Miss Julia. A tip on Mica sprays.... shake the bottle back and forth, like ringing for the butler style. This prevents particles from lodging in the tube. Take the sprayer apart, rinse through with a good hot water then re-assemble. Ring Ring Ring!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting layouts done. I am so anxious to get back to scrapbooking!

WoW trying to leave a message is like getting into a vault. I have some serious computer issues so maybe time for a new one. I've no luck with sprays and have almost quit using them. I have taken them out to the garage and sprayed away on blank papers and then used them by die cuts or backgrounds. ATC's the weeks fly by so fast, thanks for the reminder I will partake and hope MAIL everywhere is up to par for once. Have a great week. Thanks for all your support.
ReplyDeleteI empathise with you about sprays that go every which way. I now use a pizza box whenever I use sprays to at least keep the spray from getting all over everything! I'm not joining the ATC swap but look forward to seeing everyone's works of art! Have a great week, Lindart #20
ReplyDeleteJust read Kelly’s tip on the sprays, think maybe I will do mine today. Your comment about your SIL succulents made me smile. I have never been one for artificial plants, but they have got so good in recent years, it’s hard to tell without touching if they are real! We have some artificial plants in the caravan and I really like them. It was all panic stations here yesterday as the caravan was leaking! I got called back from having a nice session with my sister - luckily we were about to leave anyway - so my husband could take the caravan to be fixed. There was a recall because of a problem with leaking and it had been in to be done. It didn’t leak before it went in🙈. Angela. x
