See the Hero Arts floral stamp set at left? I inherited it from Mary. It was unused, and by my estimation, it’s probably 18 years old. Those wood mounts and real rubber, ah…they stamp crisply and they don’t squash if you press too hard and I just love them. Digression, sorry. I used them to make a Mothers Day card and then went off on a stamping frenzy and coloured a bunch of them and used that age old ‘technique’ of stamping the background with the same stamp as the main image. I mean, very simple, relatively quick and I really enjoyed.
The slightly cleared working pad (waste copier paper - purchase ledger print outs from 2012!) is because I had a lot of phone calls yesterday and had pushed back a bit to do cutting out whilst I talked. Cutting out more body parts, although I’m not sure you can tell, the plastic tray is just above the heat gun.
A grand clear up is yet again scheduled for today, I’ve got eggs to paint and time is starting to press a little isn’t it!
Please show and tell; your desk, your project, your space, your day….it’s important! Put WOYWW in your post title and link away! Thanks in advance, I already know I’m going to enjoy my visit.
Good use of multitasking while on the phone Julia. Those Hero Arts stamps are indeed bery pretty. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. sarah #2
ReplyDeleteI love those old Hero Art stamp sets, I have loads, (obviously, not used for ages, the box they are in has loads of other stuff on top!) Glad you were able to multi task whilst on the phone. Happy WOYWW Helen #1
ReplyDeleteI think I have those Hero Arts stamps...great technique, stamping on the background!
ReplyDeleteHappy Crafting!

Hi Julia, I've got that old stamp set and not used it for ages. I still have quite a few wood mounted and you're right they do stamp very cleanly. Hope you manage to get all your jobs done. Happy woyww, Angelas x5x
ReplyDeleteExcellent multi tasking and i agree the red rubber wooden mounted stamps produce great images. Must admit i removed the wood from several of mine and just use a thick acrylic press but still find the red rubber excellent. Happy wowyww

Dear old Mary, it’s nice you’re using one of her stamps as opposed to trying to sell them - are there many left? Hope all is ok re the phone calls, the stamping was probably fast and furious.

Hello Julia, I hope it’s okay that I’m not here much and keeping popping in now and again. Life sometimes gets in the way and I can only blog when there’s good stuff to report. I hope all is well with your lot and thanks for being a constant in life with your lovely WOYWW posts

Your day sounds as hectic as mine. Just wondering why you are cutting out body parts! The mysteries of paper crafting. π x x Jo
ReplyDeleteYep defo back to "normal" there! Know what you mean about the squishiness of the new silicone stamps as opposed to the old rubber ones, although I'm not a stamper as you know. My Quikcutz alphabet was from Mary wasn't it? Hope you get round to the grand clear up today. BJ#10
ReplyDeleteOoer painting eggs. I have such happy memories of painting/decorating eggs with the children for school competitions. We used to fill the table with crafty stuff and often had their friends round to have a free for all session....happy days.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Painting eggs is not something I have ever done. Multi tasking while on the phone? I think I would have cut the wrong bits! Happy WOYWW and have a great week x Angela #8

ReplyDeleteOh I love your desk...and those stamps are awesome, would be great backgrounds for my 3x3/smaller cards. I've some similar so your post will get me looking. I posted last night but never woke up to get here to play along. Just a few years ago I did eggs !!! Paper Mache, decoupaged, fabric, lace, now I use egg dye for my papers ! And I am wondering why the days fly by so fast. Soon I can be out walking? May reach 40's here and our snow melted yesterday. Mud,all over. Enjoy a lovely week Thanks for your fun here.
ReplyDeleteI refused to take the rubber from the wooden mounts of stamps by such companies as hero Arts, Magenta etc. It seemed wrong to do so but I must admit I have forgotten about them. Time for a clear out.
ReplyDeleteI see you are working on Kraft card, I must use some of mine in my card making, I tend to forget all about it and yet the results are lovely.

Good morning, Miss Julia!
ReplyDeleteI love my wood stamps. Not sure how many of them I'll actually take apart once I start the stamp cataloging. Fussy cutting is a great use of phone time. I remember a land line with a really long chord and I could tidy up the kitchen and the dining room while I chatted LOL. Oh, the good ole days! Creative Blessings & Hugs! Kelly #17 (I swear I get younger with each posting LOL)
Hi Julia! I, for one, love a good mess! I also love your card - it's good to bring back the old tried and true card designs, I am usually so busy looking for new ideas I forget about the tried and true. It is lovely, Have a great week, enjoy your spring weather, whatever it is! Lindart #18
ReplyDeleteOld tools are the best, aren’t they! Thanks for remembering that my last visits to London were when Brian had his heart surgery.
ReplyDeleteCutting up body parts (paper, I guess) sounds good therapy if your phone calls were annoying
Take care
