What’s on your Workdesk? Wednesday 697

My desk this week is photographed in the gloom of sundown on Tuesday. It’s untidy, messy and in a state that is generally a reflection of a normal week of to-ing and fro-ing that as you well know, I don’t tidy until it drives me mad. It doesn’t matter - it never matters really, but this morning it feels like a weight. A silly, foolish thing that makes me feel lazy. Funny how mood affects you, gives you an overview. I will be tidying up and setting things straight, it’s overdue.
I found out yesterday that our WOYWW community has lost another great friend, a great artist of a crafter. Debbie Rock died recently and suddenly. My heart goes out to Phil, her literal and absolute Rock, and her extended family. There is more to be written.
Meantime though, and in the best tradition of WOYWW, please show and tell your desk story this week..Debbie always enjoyed looking in, and I can’t think of a better reason to rally to the call this week!

  1. Yep, the biggest shock about Debbie yesterday, such a sweet lady, I feel so sad for Phil and the nephews. Cherish each day and don’t sweat the small stuff (or the desk!)

  3. Omg this is such sad news. My heart goes out to her husband as well, how devastated he must be. I was lucky enough to win one of Debbie’s incredible art pieces at a long ago Woyww crop and I treasure it still. I can’t focus on your desk,I’m afraid, after hearing this news.

Not a happy Woyww day at all.

  5. No, this is indeed sad news. Sad for us to lose a friend but even more so for her loving family. I just don't know what to say, her art adorns my room and will be a constant reminder of a lovely lady who was so generous and so talented. God Bless her.

  7. Now that is a shock. How awful for her family. I feel for them. I could sense the way you had written your post this morning that something didn't feel right. Take care my friend. Sending hugs, Angela x9x

  8. My sympathy to Debbie's family and friends. Yes it's here too, so many with no warning. And we wouldn't be true crafters if we didn't have quite the mess in our crafty spaces. You can't usually finish a project in a short time when you have another life !
I'd say I clean up 2x a week or I too would go mad.
And having another life is necessary to enjoy every opportunity NOW when it arises. ENJOY FALL great to keep up with you.

  12. Although I have linked this week, there is no picture on my blog. It is quite simply a little ramble contribute to a lovely lady, Debbie Rock. She had an unforgettable smile which lit up a room.
    RIP Debbie

  14. Better late than never I suppose. Having a bit of a day. Scan and Go handsets at Asda not working so tried downloading the App but foiled at the last hurdle so had to shop without. Parking is a challenge as neighbours house is being redone into semis so builders vans EVERYWHERE. Hoping I can stay the course with the conference 4pm-midnight the next 3 days! Oh my.... Hope you get your desk sorted soon - hugs BJ#19

  17. Hi Julia, late checking in, part got caught up with the gardening and part just a bit gobsmacked by the news about Debbie - the third one I have had in a week. Makes me want to call up everyone I know. Have a good week, Cindy xx
