What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 649

Well, gentle Desker, for a host of reasons, my desk is unchanged this week. Mr Dunnit has taken advantage of what turned into ‘my absence’ and has left a few clues as to his presence.

Little clues as to who’s been playing in my room!
The door fitting has finished…foam and adjustments to the oak beam and stuff, some plasterboard down the sides. Then the edge of the worktop had to be trimmed to actually let me get the desk pushed up against the door. Hence the saw. Once I’ve pushed the drawer unit back fully under the desk, I wonder if he’ll remember where it is. Call this day one…..!
This bunch of tools herald the installation of a couple more sockets which will prevent the annoying, untidy and frustrating trailing of cables over worktops. Always planned, and am happy to have them. So at some point today, there will be cleaning. Inevitably, there’s a lot of dust and just walking across the floor yesterday made my teeth itch a bit. Not as much as they do when I consider how many cards and things I suddenly want to make and send by the end of this month. I can’t explain how the feeling creeps up on me, but it’s arrived and rather inevitably, being a one job at a time gal, I want to get them underway with some urgency, the days are slipping away aren’t they!
Please share your spaces, tell us how you’re doing and if you can, show us what you’re doing. And maybe talk about your plans for the Christmas makings, just so that we can all calm each other?!

  2. Typical that the mojo always strikes when the craft area is not really accessible Julia. Those extra sockets will be useful though. Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Sarah #1

  3. Lol! Sockets are like go,d dust around here. I always know when aThe Hubster has been at my desk by the presence of the back-up disk. Easier to tidy. Enjoy your card making and happy Woyww!

  6. Sockets are one of those things that you can never have too many of. The sockets in my workroom are all behind cupboards so my husband fixed multi socket extension leads to the wall higher up. My husband has been having a clear out of my stuff! I have had to rescue several things from the charity box I was not ready to part with! Happy WOYWW Angela #6

  7. Oh the dust and gritty stuff, understand the teeth scenario. Intrigued by the saw shape, probably on the lines of the the short dumpy screwdrivers for awkward places no doubt. Been dogged by a sore wrist all night, wondering when this carpal tunnel surgery recovery will be over as it's 7 weeks now and still very sore, oh well. Oh and as for Christmas makes, nothing planned but I did buy a couple of presents for my boys yesterday. Drove to Sainsburys on my own (first time since surgery) probably reason for the sore wrist, same thing happened when I drove the first time last week, hmmmm. BJ#8

  8. Morning Julia, coincidentally my work area if full of tools and debris from the wandering welder replacing the cork wall I use for displaying stuff. So my task this morning is to clean up after him then get the room into some semblance of order.
Wonder how long it’ll be before I get distracted

  9. Happy WOYWW. I hope those tools and the dust are gone soon, and you can get down to your Christmas crafting. I have quite a few cards nearly finished from the various workshops I have attended in the past few months. I am going to allocate them to the recipient, get some mounted, others just need inserts and then all in envelopes. I have some lovely charity cards as well (forgot to add a link to my blog post - may go back and edit), and I 'might' make a few more cards (only because I have some gorgeous new stash that I want to play with). Going to have this done by the end of the month, as I am 'over' festive crafting already. Perhaps I should put a Christmas movie on, or some music, to make me feel a bit more excited! Ali x #14

  10. I actually think that a time away from the desk can be a good think as we all need to give Mr Mojo a rest or he runs off when we need him most. Hope you are able to get back there soon. Happy woyww (hopefully!) Hugs, Angela x13x

  11. Hi there Julia, see you are still in the process of getting sorted. I would really love more sockets in my room, hate trailing wires!! Time is really rushing by and like you I am seized by an urge to get things done. Probably won't last. Happy WOYWW, Cindy #16

  12. I can relate to that horrid dust/sawdust under the feet/everywhere feeling... its horrid! We have dust everywhere. I have yet to start any festive crafting and with the house in its current state I suspect I will have to resort to buying cards this year. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God bless, Caro xxx (#15)

  15. Ooh, sawdust, what a pain having to collect it all up, it flies everywhere if you are not careful. You need a little vacuum cleaner on the job. But just think how much easier life will be with everything in its place and all those leads tucked away.
It will be Christmas Cards A Go Go before long.

  18. Oh Julia you have my Sympathy, I could not go through the disarray you've been through for so long. I know the end result and process is necessary, and will be so enjoyable BUT . And I am in no way excited for Christmas, Fall is my new go to enjoyment and it's almost gone. Still good colors which is unusual. Yes the days are slipping away I usually make family Veterans cards for Veterans day tomorrow NOV 11th. I have nothing. Didn't even realize Sunday Nov is 1/2 over. I started drinking a glass of Wine with breakfast and I am enjoying it Have a good week. and THANKS

  20. I must admit I didn't know it was a man trait to put their hammers etc down and forget where they are . . . . I thought it was just Peter!
How super is your room going to be when it IS eventually finished . . . .
So long as you have a good light in there, you will be able to catch up while others sleep lol
    Have a good cleaning week

  21. Ohoo I'm the same as last week, #24! Hubby drilled holes in the work bench so the cables could disappear down them but I have to admit to having a little bit of sawdust on the skirtingboards under my bench...and, he sometimes nips in and askes for my little pink hammer too! Happy WOYWW Stay Safe! ((Lyn))#24

  22. Oooh that is so cool that you will have power plug ins :) ( the one thing I really want/need and probably will never have where I am at now) but, since the window trims downstairs are finished his next project is finishing the window frame up here ( finally eh? ) :) I hope you get enough of the dust banished to get creating soon Julia. ~Stacy #25

  25. I’d love some extra sockets in the right places for my craft stuff. We have literally dozens of sockets in this house and I always end up with an extension cable! ๐Ÿ’•
