You can’t see because of the gloom, but there are five pairs of scissors under that lot. The paper in the centre is actually hiding the next present to be wrapped. The coffee cup actually had water in it because I had to take a pill, wrapping gave me a headache! I use the sharpies to write on the gift tags, there’s a red and a silver one on the desk too, somewhere. The strange black ‘thing’ at right is the iPad/phone holder. It took me a minute to work it out when I uploaded the photo, still not used to it being there! The deckchair isn’t retired, it was temporarily flattened to make room for all this other stuff. When all this wrapping nonsense has gone, I’ll show you the cards I put together on Crop day. They are as you can tell, deeply out of reach at the moment.
Show and tell please, remind me what my desk is really for! And, nine days to go...share your state of readiness please....make this mortal feel a little more in control!
At least you have gifts to wrap!! I still haven't done my shopping yet, eek!! good luck finding your desk again. Happy WOYWW Helenx2
ReplyDeleteHope the wrapping and headache are over soon Julia. I am not doing CHristmas until later next year so I don't have that problem yet. Stay safe and happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia. Trust all gets done today and you get your desk and dining table back... then you can re-find everything.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Lol! I have a huge pile of stuff in my craft room all in the wrapping queue. And quite possibly not enough wrapping paper cause Chris does the shoppping and I keep forgetting to put it on the list. I had not counted it out, but NINE days is scary! You have 5 scissors hiding but foe me it is the elusive roll of tape. I need to hang it around my neck on a string or I’ll never find it once I begin.
ReplyDeleteHappy Woyww as we all wrap on!

Good morning Julia, I am having trouble sleeping so I am posting early, although I am writing this in my bedroom so I do need that important picture of my desk! I couldn’t resist posting it early so I get a never achieved before, low number! It’s that time of year when wrapping paper, sellotape and scissors are in great demand. You will be back crafting thinking how quickly Christmas went by! Have a great week, Angela #5
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia, mines a gift wrapping station too this week but I wasn't as brave to share. I too was wondering what that black thingy was and no matter the amount of scissors used you'll be sure to still loose them all whilst wrapping. Happy WoywW Tracey #8?
ReplyDeleteLooks like progress to me! That tape dispenser is huge and bright red so that's a plus! if you don't have an empty tub, you can use a garbage pail with a clean plastic liner to stand your rolls so they're not all out at once. My dining room looks like Santa's workshop and will until almost Christmas Eve ~ embrace the chaos and the season
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, Hope you can enjoy the lead up to the day, without stressing too much.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW

Happy WOYWW. Not just me wrapping then. It gives me a headache too, and sore back/arms. Watching diamond painting videos on YouTube definitely helps. I always have a long Watch Later list, so it is good to actually sit and watch some. Ali x. #11
ReplyDeleteThat’s what I call a busy desk today. We did our wrapping at the weekend cos I use my cutting table in my sewing room for it and have to have it clear for my work days. Hope you get yours finished soon and can return to being creative.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
Hi Julia, I believe the desk is for whatever you need it for Lol! however I have finished all my cards which is just as well and have a few 'just in case cards'. I have wrapped pressies for my walking friends so they're all done and need to do mum's, no idea what hubby's having as he doesn't seem to know what he wants but I guess it's a sign of the times. It had better be something I can get from the Supermarket as that's the only place we go right now. I'm having a rest from it all and distracting myself with the dragon box. I also have birthday cards to make, you think they would know better Lol! than to have birthdays at Christmas. Hubby's is the beginning of January so I'll soon have card stuff on the desk again. I'm here earlier today as I'm waiting for the washing machine man to come. Have a lovely WOYWW and stay safe, Angela x12x
ReplyDeleteWow 5 pairs of scissors??!! Mind you a sense of achievement when all done. I decided to stamp brown paper and use brown paper tape (which i found when we were discussing tape on our virtual WOYWW crop) and it took ages!! Then found some bags i stashed in the attic i could have used to put the gifts it, grrr!!
ReplyDeleteKyla
What is it with scissors when you’re wrapping? There’s a special black hole for thrm I think. If you find them, get thru to tell my crochet hooks to come home, too! Your desk is there for what you need and right now it’s wrapping. I hope you get finished soon. Take care, stay safe and happy WOYWW

Good luck with wrapping, I love it but all my family want money and that's hard to wrap lol
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWDW Stay well and safe,

My oh has done most of the wrapping and he used the kitchen work top to do it. Can't allow him in my craft room and I've been much too busy making the cards and tags.
ReplyDeleteNice to see that you have all those rolls ready to wrap things in and so many pairs of scissors on the go too. I hope you get finished soon and the headache goes. I think a large G&T is called for at the end of all that wrapping. In fact I order you to have one (you will feel so much better).
Hugs, Neet xx 16
I think I lulled myself into a false sense of security believing there was very little to do as we weren't seeing anyone this year - that was an error of judgement! I hope you get the wrapping done and reclaim your space for crafty stuff!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
Diana xx #22
Oh gosh, I'd managed to forget everyone's Christmas frenzy, till I saw your desk and read your post. Christmas is a quiet affair here, just the three of us, how we like it. Not even a glimmer of "having" to travel to see my Mother in Wales as she disowned me last year. I hate travelling, it always stressed me out BIGTIME, so a HUGE relief this year. Got son's 22nd on Monday so not really thinking Christmas wrapping till after that, or maybe at the same time. Not even bought any new wrapping paper this year either. So yes quiet here and back to scrapping for me. BJ#25
ReplyDeleteWrapping is on my list for today too. I hate it with a vengeance, actually am a great fan of big bags with tissue paper but I haven't been out this year. Also because we have moved to less is more the presents are sometimes a bit bigger (the broom and watering can are defying containment). Some of course are incredibly tiny. Not much in the middle. Only 5 pairs of scissors? As the ultimate 'I just had it in my hand' scissor user this is exactly why I have a zillion pairs. Good luck. Is it too early for a festive baileys to relieve the pain?? Happy WOYWW, stay well stay safe Cindy #26 xx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, nope, no better than yours, in fact you're ahead of me. Bought all the presents I'm buying, but nothing even close to being wrapped yet. Still have to get a wreath and take Mom to put it on my brothers grave, so if there's only 9 days left, I think I'd better get a move on. I do like the striped wrapping paper, thats cool. Stay safe, lots of love to you both, Huge hugs, Shaz #6 XxXxXx
ReplyDeleteWrapping is what I did yesterday too - just on a much smaller scale! Just over a week to go - how did that happen? We must have gone down a wormhole and lost all sense of time passing. Happy preparations Julia - sounds like you're already ahead of the game! xx zsuzsa #27
ReplyDeleteHI Julia! Ick - wrapping, I hate it, big believer in gift bags and tissue. Funny, I'll spend hours making cards but can't stand to write them, hours making gifts but can't stand to wrap them. HOpe you get yours all wrapped up and back to some proper crafting ASAP :) Annie C #28
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I've bought all my presents, apart from Mr M's because he doesn't know what he wants - my plan is to wrap them all this weekend. It is the worst bit of Christmas, wrapping the presents/writing the cards!! I'll be using the dining table, as its bigger and easier to get it done in one session and we can't eat until I've finished. My desk is a bit, but only a tad, tidier than yours - only because I am working up until next Tuesday, and half my week is on Teams meetings so I don't want everyone seeing the mess. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #30
ReplyDeleteI seem to be in a minority here as I really enjoy wrapping prezzies as long as I have the space and time to do them justice! Hope your headache abated soon after, maybe you need more gin, yes, that’s definitely the solution......
ReplyDeleteKeep safe, lovely gal, hope to have a catch up soon,
Hugs LLJ 7 xxxx
Julia, your photo looks JUST LIKE how my living room floor looks!!!! LOL Stepping OVER and AROUND and any other mad acrobatic move is really getting on my nerves and I may need to borrow one of your pills! LOLOL I hope all your wrapping gets done successfully and soon so you can sit down and enjoy the holiday time!!! Blessings to you! Thank you again for all you do and Merry, Merry Christmas! Felicia, #31
ReplyDeleteHi Julia! Wrapping presents is not my favourite thing to, especially since if I wrap early, I forget what's in the box, and if I wrap late, its all being done at once and I'm exhausted. We do a lot of our wrapping in bags these days, easier to check to see what it is! And faster! I don't envy you with all that wrapping, and I'm sure you will be relieved when it's all done! Have a great week, Lindart #33
ReplyDeleteHi, Julia,
ReplyDeleteI don't celebrate Christmas so wrapping gifts is not something that I have to do. I cannot share your pain, however, it looks like you have chosen some very pretty papers.
I can't use Sharpies over a long period because they give me headaches as well.
I am sure the wrapped gifts will all look spectacular under your tree!
Hugz,
Chana Malkah
I know the feeling - every time I think I have finished the wrapping I remember/find something else! Good luck in completion and refinding your desk!. Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#13)
ReplyDeleteI'm late, I'm late I'm late for that all important date. WOW how does a week disappear so fast. Your post is about how I feel Wham, besides the desk being a disarray my mind is falling right behind it. And we are going NO PLACE.
ReplyDeleteI've gotten so I love the foil wrapping paper. Our weather is great. so sunny and bright 20's (it got cold) BUT we missed all the snow and ice. YIPPEE for now. Have a glass of cheer x4 and things will all fall into place. See you next week CHEERS to help for GOOD TIMES
had to come to chrome to leave a comment- now I can't remember wha tI wanted to say! Robyn 35!
ReplyDeleteNo present wrapping in my house since moving to Spain it is cash for pressies. Only the cat and dog to buy for and they have pet stockings. Look at it this way with your desk covered no dust can settle. Ani
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks very festive : D. You are so ahead of Christmas Eve!
ReplyDeleteI don’t have many gifts to wrap so each one went into a hamdmade bag or uocycled box. Nearly done but I have a quilt to finish too-eeek!
ReplyDeleteYou actually have room on your table to do gift wrapping? I do mine on the floor, at least for the bigger ones. Most our gifts go far far away so I only have a couple to wrap. Hope you get it all accomplished!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Carol N #29
You've certainly got a bit of a wrapping factory going on there, Julia. I loathe wrapping parcels. You've got some pretty papers, though.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit, and I hope to have some further kitty throw pictures to share in due course so you can see the paw prints. I've yet to try working the pattern but it looks pretty easy. The Persian Tiles one has endless possibilities for colour combos and I do particularly like the "Eastern Jewels" one but it wouldn't be suitable for our room. I might make it one day - who knows?
Happy belated WOYWW,
Shoshi #21
A message for Ali Wade in case she sees this - if not, perhaps you could contact her, Julia? I can only access her blog via the link on here, and if I click on anything on her blog (e.g. to post a comment, or on any of her links) all I get is a series of moving dots. This happened last week and I don't know if either of my comments got through or not.

Lovely desky share sorry I’m late... again... 😁 and very partial to that striped paper Julia, can relate to wanting to come up for air. I’ve commented Bert little as visitors then was busy catching up or recovering once they headed north, Covid has broken out again in Syd just before Christmas poor timing for many, praying hard it is contained.
ReplyDeleteHope to be be back for WOYWW on Wed but as done nought (zero motivation) may not make it so happy God blessed Christmas just in case.
Thanks for sharing, and God bless, Shaz in Oz.x
