I got a box of plastic eggs from a large online retailer. The eggs are by craft and stamp company, Artemio. They were good value and it wasn’t until they arrived that I realised that to paint them, they would first need gesso. Good lord they were slippery. So then of course.....,they need to dry. Cue feather duster re-employment. I’ve done them in batches and as soon as they were touch dry they went into a basket on the floor to let the heating do the rest! They will, I hope, be painted various spring colours and decorated beautifully by now; they were to take to the Craft Bee yesterday. The reason I can’t show yo anything as current as today is because there is nothing to show you. Lunch Lady Jan came to stay and utterly distracted me! She and her G are touring Sussex for a variety of reasons and a number of days, so she may not get a chance to join in today. And....we were so busy catching up that neither of us took a single photo! Ah well, just as well we’ll be getting together in June for the WOYWW crop!
Show me your desks then, please try to put me back into card making mode, I could do with it. Forgive me if the post is late showing and Mr kinky is delayed, I genuinely have no idea why our internet should suddenly drop off, but at the time of writing, it really has gone pffft!
So shocked to be number one that I will have to pop back later for a better look. Happy woyww, Angela x1x
ReplyDeleteThat's better not sure I could cope with being number 1 Angela x2x
ReplyDeleteOoh I do love a catch up with like minded folk. Which is just what I’ve done over on my blog this week Julia

My lucky number 5!! Your feather duster plan looks to be working well - I love to see decorated eggs so hope you show and tell. I bet you and Jan had a great time - lucky you. Looking forward to June - hopefully viruses will all have gone by then. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteThere's me thinking all sorts of things wrong but obviously the virus was uppermost in my mind. My refresher didn't work either so I was hopping about issuing forth with my worries. Doh! What a miserable so and so am I!!
ReplyDeleteGlad all is well and you are eggbound! Hope the Craft Bee enjoyed them.
Hugs, Neet 6 xx
Hi Julia, glad all is ok, and it's just internet problems. I can imagine you & Jan had a fab time catching up. Looking forward to the crop here too. Will be fab to see all those pretty eggs when you're done.Love & hugs to you both, Shaz #4 XxXxXx
ReplyDeleteThat's a great use for a duster - so much more interesting than using it for dusting! Bet you had a fab time with Jan,
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of the week,

I’ve managed Number 1 slot this week before I popped to have my fasting bloods done so am back to comment now π
ReplyDeleteI’m guessing you will have had a wonderful catch up with Jan....lucky pair. I can’t wait for June now (viruses allowing of course).
Hugs,
Annie x
I don't think I've ever been such a low number before. So glad your internet service is working now, I'd hate to miss out again as I have been awol for a week or so! I bet your eggs will be so lovely once they are all colored. I no longer color eggs as my grandkids are all grown up and my husband has passed so there is no one to really enjoy the baskets anymore. Happy WOYWW!

Sorry to hear about your Internet problems, Julia, but glad you are on again now. I love your “egg bunting” lol! Will you be using the feather duster for dusting again once you’ve finished? Just asking. I am sure the eggs will be really pretty once they are painted. How’s the new kitchen coming along?
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,

That a genius solution to dry those eggs! Oh, you should have taken some photos with Jan - seeing you two together always cheers me up - well, next time for sure, hey? Sorry been MIA for a while, still not quite back yet, but thought it would be rude not to check in at least. xx zsuzsa #14
ReplyDeletemorning Julia. Actually made it this week - can't quite believe it myself! Your internet certainly was playing games this morning - never mind! Better late than never.

Hi Julia, your image isn’t loading in Oz.
ReplyDeleteIt’s wa-aay late will pop back later ie tomorrow so can comment kind of intelligently about your desk.

Oh are days with the tech things! It happens a lot, and frustration with streaming reception, lots of far away tournament basketball!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you posted the eggs, I have some stored behind my desk I bought on sale and forgot about. Like that yours are different sizes. I was going to decoupage or use bits of lace on what I have, now hoping I DO IT. I can have lots of ideas, but no action. Oh I do love the windows to work by, a dream in my area. We have no green grass as yet. Have some great days creating.
Thanks to shaz for linking me was worried when you didn't appear. It's a busy work day so will visit later
ReplyDeleteCan't help you with the cardmaking mode, Julia. Currently not making cards - too busy making scrapbook layouts instead. The eggs hanging from a feather duster are tickled me. I look forward to seeing them painted. I can understand you being distracted - having Jan and G visit must be much too much fun to have time for anything else. Have a fabulous WOYWW. Hugs, Elizabeth x #18
ReplyDeleteThe hanging eggs look so nice, in anticipation of the colour and fun to come! Glad you and Jan had lots of fun, too bad no pics though. Have a great week, and I look forward to seeing the finished Easter Eggs! Lindart #20
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, the feather duster re-employment made me laugh! Glad you and Jan had a great day together. I'm looking forward to catching up with both of you, and everyone else at the Crop, when I remember the date! The floral sample folders on my desk last week, were bought in a sale at Hobbycraft and they contain samples for reference. Inspiration is slow to come to me, and I frequently forget when I make a card I like, so the only way forward for me is to keep samples. Or maybe photos now I have a nice new printer ... have a lovely week, Heather #21
ReplyDeleteHI Julia, I am totally impressed you are painting those eggs. and your drying station too. ah, my desk is not inspiring today not really I have not made a thing since last week but, it is visible. ~Stacy #23
ReplyDeleteI am curious about these eggs. Very interesting. Dorlene #24
ReplyDeleteSorry if we broke the interwebs at your place π³. Thanks for a great couple of days, we loved seeing you both!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. I am late, but was determined to get this post finished and linked up. Look forward to seeing finished eggs. Ali x #25
ReplyDeleteeggs...OMG! I know Easter is coming but have no initiative to do Eastery things. I have been having internet issues also and I am clueless as to why. The IT elves have been out and it scares me cause they are clueless too! I am constantly monitored and they seem to think that a gremlin shares my system and is causing the outages. I have changed passwords, modems, and access machines so hopefully it will stop now. Sounds like a fun time with Jan...I mean if you forget photos then it must be good! Have a great week. Vickie #26
ReplyDeleteI stared at the photo trying to guess what those lovely white orbs were in you craft room. Then I read your post and started laughing. I love how you found an additional use for your feather duster. Crafters are the best at finding solutions. I love it. I can't wait to see them after the final process. I was down with the flu last week so glad to be up and ready to snoop around some desks. Have a blessed day my friend!
ReplyDeleteBelinda #27
Posting late as I have been busy typing for my neighbour. I shall look forward to seeing your finished eggs x Angela # 28
ReplyDeleteLove how you "repurposed" the duster to use as an egg hanger! LOL! Can't wait to see your eggs when they're painted! Seems when we're having fun with friends that photos seem to be forgotten.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Morning Julia, too late to play again :( been another busy week and was my middle Son's bday yesterday so had family round..
ReplyDeleteMy that's a big one!! Never seen such a size in feather duster, that would dust away the cobwebs of many a high ceiling within the manor. Look forward to seeing what you have planned for those eggs. We may be eating them if this coronavirus panic buying goes any further!
Hope you are keeping well?? Happy WoywW Hugs Tracey xx
So glad that you are OK and it was only a problem with the internet Julia. Have fun with Jan. Great use of the feather duster as a drying aid lol. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #13

ReplyDeleteOk seems my brain is dead tonight. Too many typos, so deleted it. Love the extension duster use but love most of all that I can all of image, where last night could only see 1/6 of it.
ReplyDeleteWeird. Eggs will be fun to see, but you're keener than I am.
Sorry for such late visit .. π
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you.

Hi there Julia, I love those eggs hanging on your feather-thingie, that's a much better use than what 'we' (well, I not so much...) usually use it for ;) I'm glad to see you're still crafting and, although a bit late, posting the woyww post. We're heading towards Spring so it was time I payed you (and others) a visit. HOpe you are doing ok, now that the Corona virus is spreading... our country took action and I'm not allowed to shake hands but I wave with all my virtual hands to you! Love from Holland!! Marit #7
ReplyDeleteI think alcohol ink would work directly on these plastic eggs.

Julia - should this not have been no 562?
