What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 559

I’m not here today. I mean I am, but I’m going somewhere, so this is a scheduled post. It’s late Tuesday evening as I type, and I haven’t packed yet. It’s a triple packing job. I need clothes. I need to take the meal I’ve prepared for tomorrow evening. But the priority is the stash. I’m going for a few days of scrapbooking with The Coven.
Which is why you get this photo of a dining desk....
I’ve been sorting photos and papers. The idea is to at least prevent having to take a foot high stack of papers by pulling out papers that work with particular photos. The pile with the pale yellow is the pile I’m taking. Then I just have to take my huge file of scraps, (all) the smaller paper pads I have and my two pads of plain coloured card stock. Of course, it’s a given that I will take black and white too. It sounds masses. It is masses, but it’s not as much masses as it could be if I didn’t do this bit first. Still with me?!! But....just in case you think all this involves leaving a tidy desk. Oh it doesn’t. Well not at bedtime on Tuesday, anyway!
I will pick bits from it and make neat piles before I leave, but that’s about all. I won’t be here to see it and Mr Dunnit won’t even notice! So, I’m not sure how the internet will be in our wild retreat, so please be patient with me over visits. Meanwhile though, feel free to share your desktops please!

  3. How fun have a "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"" time. I love to go, but I very much dislike packing anything but cosmetics (which is always ready) and an overnight outfit. I take way too much, never use most of it, and get upset when I unpack. SO hope you love to unpack.

  11. Happy WOYWW. A scrapbooking retreat sounds like just what I need. Enjoy every moment and I look forward to seeing the results in a future blog post. One advantage of not having much left in my craft room is that it doesn’t take me long to choose stash for a project (although I mainly go to my digital libraries now). That doesn’t mean I get any more projects done though! Ali x. #13

  12. Sounds faberoonie, this getaway milarky. Why is it that the prep is sometimes more stressful than the trip? I always land up taking everything, including the kitchen sink to these kind of events... then use none of it... You are looking very organised for your event, hope you get lots done.

  14. Wish I could be with you, I so love a crafty trip but don't get much chance. Packing the right stuff to go is always difficult...well for me as I can never make my mind up what to take so I cam understand the pile of stuff you're sorting. Hope you have a wonderful time and a very happy woyww. Angela x15x

  18. I am totally impressed you are really taking things to work on Julia, I do not posses that talent when I am at a event I tend to end up sitting and talking the whole time. :) but, I do get the sorting part so that you can carry the stash that did make the cut, I hope you have a great time. ~Stacy #23

  21. Hi Julia, enjoy your time at the wild retreat with the Coven. Just trying to work out whether it's out in the wild, or a bunch of wild ladies or both! Hope you manage to get some lovely layouts finished, and I look forward to seeing them. Have a lovely week, Heather xx #26

  22. Enjoy your retreat and don't bother about commenting if the connection is not great - besides which you should be having a great time, all you ladies together.
You seem very organised with your packing, now let's see if you were so organised when you got there and did lots of work to show us another week.
Hope they serve gin at this coven!

  25. Time away to craft with friends, I can't think of anything better. I do the same thing when I go on my annual craft weekend. I try to pull coordinating items so I don't have to lug too many bags. I usually still bring too much but that is the nature of the beast. I always think I need more in case I get bored. Aaah the mind of a crafter...it's an odd one, isn't it?
I am late to the game today but happy to reconnect with everyone. Have a fabulous time away and bring back some fun stories to share.
    Hugs,
