As you can see, I’m working on Flamingos. It’s a set of stamps that has three steps to each image. Ideally I should have bought the pale, medium and darker ink pads to do the ‘mingos with, but I thought I could probably rustle something up. I have, and I rather like them in anything but pink! Don’t know where I’m going with them, but that never stopped me. And of course, I have no intention of tidying up. After all, if I’m not in the mood to make a card, I’m certainly not in the mood for tidying! Still got a floating acrylic block, but you can see more clearly now that it’s just part of a pile waiting to be put away. Surprise!
Join in do, show and tell that work area..take your lead from me, it really isn’t too messy to show us!
So the mystery of the floating block is solved. Strange how it looked last week.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are feeling under par Julia, hope you are soon up and at 'em but in the meantime give your body time to recuperate. If you don't feel like stamping leave it well alone - and certainly do NOT tidy up. I'm up early doors again with this darned back! (Well, couldn't get up without it could I - what a daft expression).
I have that flamingo set, well, have a set anyhow, got the dies for cutting out too - mine is a Hero Arts one. Bought when I was buying all the three layer stamping sets I could lay my hands on - never use them now though. Money!
Right cuppa drunk down so as I am comfortable with the pillows I might just close my eyes a bit.
Hugs, Neet 1 xx
sorry you are feeling poorly, hope it passes soon, but the tidying will wait. I totally agree about feeling off colour and also not wanting to craft in the "free" time. always happens. I do love the flamingo though. Helen #2
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well, I'm sort of not surprised after all the racing around you've been doing recently. I just don't understand the trend for flamingos recently...why them and not hippopotamuseseses?
ReplyDeleteHugs LLJ 5 xx
Morning Julia, sorry to hear you are not 100%, I hope you will soon be on top form again. I agree, being unwell is such a waste of time, I have great admiration for people who take up craft because they are unwell.
ReplyDeleteHope those flamingos find a good home soon,
Chris #6
Hope you feel better soon Julia, nothing worse for me to have a pile of crafty things to do and we are not well enough to get on with it.. so frustrating. I have to agree the alternative coloured Flamingo's have such character, they get the thumbs up from me for sure.
ReplyDeleteTake good care of yourself Tracey #8?
P.S don't feel guilty about not tidying away those bit's including the floating block, like dust once gone the pile will soon build up again xx
I hope you’re on the mend this morning missus. As I can see you are a fan of flamingoes you might like to know there are two pink plastics ones in my garden amongst the plastic plants and other garden tat.
ReplyDeleteLast weeks unidentified object has shown itself this week over on my desk.
Take care xx

Hope you are feeling better soon Julia. The flamingoes look good, I like the variety of colours rather than pink too. Thanks for solving the mystery of the floating block lol. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #10
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you’re not well. I hope whatever it is goes very soon so you can get creative with your flamingos.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
Sorry to hear your feeling poorly Julia. Hope you feel better soon. Compared to mine you're desk is work in progress. Hugs Rita xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I should just rest up if I was you. If you try to push things you'll just feel worse but I understand what you mean about wasting time, we're not good at that. The flamingos are great and I think sometimes not having the right stuff can send you down a far more interesting path. Take care and have a restful woyww, Angela x15x
ReplyDeleteHi Julia. Sorry to read you not feeling well, hope that you will soon be feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI have a flamingo stamp - used but once! Take care. Anne X #17
Hi Julia, sorry to hear you feel poorly, and yes, totally get that you don't feel like doing anything crafty at all. I'm there, doing that, wearing the t shirt at the same time. Good to see the Adirondacks out, love mine. And I agree about the flamingoes- possibly because I hate pink with a passion, lol. Plus, I just don't 'get' the flamingoes thing, nor the alpaca/llama one either for that matter. Feel better soon, I'm slowly getting there. Love & hugs, Shaz #4 XxXxXx
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you're not feeling so well at the moment, Julia. Hope whatever ails you passes soon and you'll be back to that flamingo very soon. Sometimes you just have to rest up and take time out. Although I don't see flamingos as green, I do think there's too much pink in the world of craft, and besides every flamingo I've seen has been more grey than pink. Hope you feel better soon. Hugs, Elizabeth x #21
ReplyDeleteCommiserations dear Julia on being poorly, ‘tisn’t fun!! Get better terribubbly soon (to quote the muddleheaded wombat)! I had no idea what you meant at first by floating block then realised it was the top one sort of suspended as if by a string. Optical illusion. 😊
ReplyDeleteMm, being unwell can make one contrary, and cleaning up certainly not included in any creative activities. Ask me how I know!?
Happy WOYWW. Thanks for sharing each week, poorly or no,
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz.x #20

ReplyDeleteooh hope you are on the mend soon, I prescribe a sun lounger under a parasol with a G&T!!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the flamingo too

Hello Julia! I like your multicolored flamingos. They are lovely yes indeed! Try not to beat yourself up for a break from creating. Sometimes you just have to do something else and then the spark will ignite and you will be back at the table. I took the summer off from making my cards and focused on family, reading and coloring in my coloring books. No pressure with the coloring books since they are for me. Hope you have a lovely day, kick up your feet and just chill. We got your back girlfriend!!
ReplyDeletehugs,

Sorry to hear that you are feeling poorly, somehow being ill in the Summer feels so much worse. Hope you get better soon. Love the flamingos! Take care and have a good week. With love & God Bless, Caro x #12
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteThe flamingos look like fun. I am curious what you'll do with them.
Just don't lose your block....
Have a restful week!

Hi, Lady! Hope you are feeling better now. It is hot as you know where here! 105*F! A bit humid too! Weather warnings tonight for dry lightening and fires! Take it easy. It takes me days to make just one card when I’m feeling ok. And you know I don’t really know what tidying is! So, relax and feel better,
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better Julia. I haven't posted for WOYWW this week - life just got in my way - Ben time and visits to friends etc - where does time go? All the best. xx Jo
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you weren't feeling well, but hope you're better now. I made a wedding card for a friend that loved flamingos a few years ago, and it came out quite lovely, due to their delicate shape. Happy Belated WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteCannot believe I'm sooooo late but, read my post and you'll understand!
ReplyDeleteHope you're feeling better by now, if not then take some more time off.
have fun

Sorry to hear you've been feeling poorly, Julia, and I hope that by now you are OK again. I love your little flamingoes! Who says they have to be pink, anyway! Thank you for your comment, which made me smile! You will be reassured to know that the PVA found its way upstairs again and didn't end up in the pantry!! As for the time spent preparing the food, I look on it as a worthwhile investment if it improves our health. I've got different gadgets for chopping and slicing etc. which do speed things up a bit. W had our first crop of apples today, and from now on that's going to take a lot of my time, keeping up with them all!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated WOYWW,
