What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 512

Well, I think we should re-name it Whizzday. It makes the week surrounding it go so fast!
Anyway, you’ll want to know what’s happened here. The procrastination thing...I’ve put it off for a bit.
The desk was completely untouched whilst we were away last week. I don’t think they even used the sellotape. So, a little bit In need of a cutting and sticking fix, I have mended the book. Well actually, that’s not true. I have just glued the spine back on. Mr Dunnit is happy with it though, so that’s a result. Then, I waded in and made a scrapbook page. It’s nearly finished, but it got so ridiculously difficult to keep track of colour in the gloom of electric light that I decided not to crash on. Quite mature really.
Hey if you’re interested in the where and when for the WOYWW Crop, please look back to the post before this, it’s full of detail. And the promise of cake.
When you’ve checked all that out, post your desk in the usual way please, I need your momentum! Thanks ever so.

  3. Very sensible and mature to leave the LO for the moment.
Seen the crop post and hopefully replied in the affirmative. Not sure about staying over but will certainly be there. Once you get hooked you get hooked - well I do,and I for one cannot wait to meet up with you all again.

  6. Glad you had a good break and that you managed to salvage that precious book. I have confirmed for the Crop, which, this time, is within travelling distance, saving kennel fees etc. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #8

  7. Morning Julia, glad you had a lovely break. The layout looks great, and wise move to leave it till the light is better. I learned early on the lighting in my craft room is deceitful. What looked good at night, looked totally glaring during the day. I thought replacing the light would help, but it didn't! Ah well lol. I hope to be at the Crop- I'll confirm as soon as I know! Have a lovely week Heather x #11

  10. Morning Julia, glad you managed to have a nice break away. So nice to escape the cold for a bit.
Sorry again I can’t manage the crop. I’ll look forward to the pics and hearing about the chuckles and lack of work that goes on though

  12. Happy WOYWW. Great to see a LO on your desk. Looking good. The longer days always fill me with joy. You will soon have a lot more natural light to craft by. (I have commented on the Crop post - will be there. Just need to sort out whether Rich can drive me, or whether I will get the train. Booking a room at the Premier Inn for the night before.) 13. Hello Julia! It is so good to be back and I'm hoping to become a regular again. You are so right about the weeks just whizzing by and it seems I just leave here and it's time to be back. Your scrapbook page looks like it will be wonderful once you have time and light to finish. Have a great rest of the week! Happy WOYWW! Glenda #19

  14. Hi Julia, we're back too. Hope you had a lovely time despite the work stuff. I am like you the weeks just seem to whizz by which is quite scary really. I'm off walking with friends today which is why I have the bigger number but will be back later to check on everyone. Happy woyww, Angela x20x

  15. Goodmorning sweetie, and oh how I love what I see on your desk... that scrapbook layout is lovely and I love the background paper of it too! I am so sorry that I don't have the money to come over to the UK to celebrate with you... I'll be drooling over the photos on the blogs! Have a great week, hug from Holland. Marit #18

  17. Morning nice to see the desk back in action. Yes, colours in the evening are a pain. I was doing something the other week with shades of cream. Hopeless. Would love to get to the crop but technically I am on holiday in the Cotswolds with my mum. Can't decide if I can face another day of driving, (though I would be halfway there!!) and not sure if its polite to abandon my family as soon as we get there. Miss it so much will have to think on it. Hugs Cindy x

  18. Looks like there will be a good few of us meeting up in June! Glad you had a good break - enjoy the sunshine here if you have it too - bit cloudy just now but fingers crossed we get some playing out time with Ben today. xx Jo

  19. Hi Julia, glad you had a good week away. Liking the muted colours in the layout, lets the photo shine.
Poor Lynne, it's driving her potty. Apparently she has already changed her blog name once, but didn't help. Doug thinks it's possible that someone has reported her posted links as Spam, and thats whats causing the problem. Easy to do, if you are intending to hide someones posts, and probably didn't realise what saying they were spam would cause.Travelling in the name of music, lol. Off to London in a few weeks for another, then quite a bit going on in June, lol.
    Love & Hugs, Shaz XxXx

  20. Hi Julia,
It looks like a good break in the sun has re-energised your mojo - I love the layout and the background effect is fab. The colours look spot on to me, but you were right to walk away from it because of the light - how very self-disciplined you are!
    Have a great week,

  23. I think Whizzday is totally appropriate! Hope you enjoyed your break away from your desk. Light can be a real problem at this time of the year but I'd day your layout is looking pretty much perfect. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #28

  25. Julia, You commented on the mat on my desk. Not a cutting mat, but a table place mat. I only bought the one, as I wanted something to go on my desk to cover up the worn area. My keyboard also sits on it when in use.

Think I will have to sand my desk and varnish the top. Sue

  26. I love the background on your lovely layout, Julia - very mixed media looking! Nice busy desk. Thank you for your comment. As far as I know, I haven't reached any limit on my photos. I am convinced it's google causing the problems. I use Open LiveWriter for composing my posts. I absolutely loathe blogger's editor which completely messes with the formatting. I usually have no problems with OLW but it always plays up when google messes things around, and I can't publish posts with any photos in them. I've got a workaround which I discovered on a forum which usually works perfectly (although it is much more time consuming to do). Eventually the people behind OLW get together with google and sort the problem out. What I find peculiar is that the photos are all visible to me when I access my blog online, but not to other people, and they can see some of them, but not all. I can only hope that the problem will eventually sort itself, and in the meantime, all the photos are on my Google Photos page but I don't know if anyone apart from me can access that.

    Happy belated WOYWW,
