That lovely bag with ‘the coven’ on it was a gift at our Coven Crop weekend away. It’s going to be useful, I plan that it will hold glue pens, glue sticks, glue bottles, tape and foam pads when I go to crops which won’t half free up my little Jan made tote for scissors, glasses and real hardware! I see three pairs of glasses which isn’t any surprise at all, the pair on top should be by the computer screen, and the other two belong on the table - two strengths depending on the light! Seriously, a string round my neck with the glasses on won’t work, I’d need to wear about four for an average day! Anyway, enough drivel, blog, post and link please, I need some less lacklustre desks to visit!

What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 508
I thought it was a bit gloomy, so I’ve enhanced the photo - I selected ‘dramatic’ as the preferred colour. Well of course I did. Everything now looks really grainy but bright; believe me, although it is light, it’s not that sunny here just yet! As soon as Mr Dunnit has left for work, my desk will become a preparation area for workshop kits for tomorrow. (Because he’s using the printer and spreading papers around...you know what I mean..) At the moment, it shows last night’s feeble attempt at some scrapbooking. I’m not sure if it was the photo or the papers, but by the time I’d got around to deciding what to do, it all felt a bit lack lustre so I abandoned it.
I noticed that bag straight away - LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW :)

Fab bag! your desk looks ok to me - signs of activity at least!
ReplyDeleteThat bag is fabulous Julia. I really have to update my varifocals: seeing all those glasses has given me a nudge to sort out an eye test. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, Hope you get your mojo back for your project.
ReplyDeleteThe bag looks very useful.
I have ready readers of various strengths in various places, so you aren't the only one.
Happy WOYWW

I can hardly cope with two pairs of glasses = now where is that second pair?
ReplyDeleteLove the 'dramatic' look of your desk - mmm... a coven bag! Novel!
Hugs, Neet xx
Oh Julia that effect has given your desk an aged look like a desk held in time forever. Super bag, good to know you have already decided what it's use will be. I know exactly what you mean regarding projects... I need to get my craft on for sanity's sake.
ReplyDeleteHappy WoyWW and Thank you for hosting Tracey (7) ?
Fab bag and it’s lovely you’ve already decided on its use. I rather like the effect on the photo today....but grainy does it for me obviously.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun week.
Hugs

Loving the bag Julia but the variety of specs must drive you mad. Interesting effect with the desk, maybe it could become a new fashion for us all to play around with though maybe not! We need a clear view of what's going on and some of those effects are very blurry Lol!I know I've tried them. Happy woyww, Angela x14x
ReplyDeleteI know all about that lacklustre feeling - it's been keeping me off my blog from the past couple of weeks. I can also identify with the glasses situation. I have about half a dozen pair scattered around the house and inevitably they tend to gather in one place! Happy Wednesday Julia - enjoy your week! (will link up later - I still need to write my post!) xx
ReplyDeleteWell Julia this is my second comment, the first Google ate. It was probably long and rambling as was heading out for my walk before tea. Now back, was truly beautiful may see pickie next week, and had tea, not dishes done but they can wait. Will try take 2!
ReplyDeleteIt is Safari it does not like google or the other way around!!
Love your desk, it’s such a comfy place to come and visit each week the outlook is cheery to me no matter how gloomy it maybe, perhaps a reaction of the lovley lady who creates there. Three pairs of glasses does seem excessive, mine are on my head so saves a lot fo bother. Love the writing on the nice new bag! Happy WOYWW,
You’re in my thoughts and prayers, hugs Shaz in Oz.x #8
You can never have enough bags, scissors and specs!! xx Jo
ReplyDeleteCan't be much more lacklustre than mine!! Have agood day, Cindy xx
ReplyDeleteHi Julia. loving the bag. Laughing at the multiple glasses, I do that too. Not a spectacular desk today, but some stuff got done. Love & Hugs, Shaz XxX #6
ReplyDeleteI have glasses in each room - how do you manage to get three in one room! Perhaps I shouldn't ask.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your workshop kit sorting.

Julia I think most of us have glasses everywhere, we laugh that we need glasses to find them!
ReplyDeleteI love the bag too, I have a bag that our new tap came in, very posh, it was handed over to me, seems everyone knows I have a use for anything and everything.
Enjoy your week

It must be something about today because the first photo in my post is blurry. I was too lazy to take it again so you may need to wear all three glasses to look at my desk! Making kits for a crop huh? I have an annual girlfriend weekend crop coming up in the beginning of April and I always explain to my husband that I need to prepare by creating kits so that I can be productive. But when I sit back and think, it's really funny that I do that. This morning is 10 degrees F and yesterday we had high winds of 60 MPH. Snow is expected tonight. So I guess some reading and crafting after I run some errands. Have a blessed day my friend!

Oh those glasses... I have the same 'problem' and can't wear them on a string either... I tried that once and it kept on hanging in the paint when I was creating... eeck! I hope the sun came out at your place too today, we have a sunny Spring-like day here again with 17 degrees Celcius! They say it will get colder as of tomorrow so I made good use of the today by spending most of it outside. Creating will have to wait for grey days. I do hope your day was as good as mine. Happy woyww, hug from sunny Holland. Marit #15
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I like the gritty look to the shot. That bag is totally fun :) ~Stacy #24
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I've just had to bring down the blind to shut out a bright but low sun. Definitely not gloomy. Don't get me wrong. I love the sun but it my old eyes are more sensitive to light these days. I can't believe you need so many pairs of specs. One pair of Varifocals does me all day and I'm totally dependent - I'd be distraught if I mislaid them but, like you, a chain would never do. I find it helps to walk away from a layout project when I'm stuck. Time can give renewed enthusiasm - hope you have found the same. Oh, and good luck preparing the kits for tomorrow. Hugs, Elizabeth x #20
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I noticed was the bag. Love it and what a great idea to put your adhesive in. I too need extra room in my main tote. Have a wonderful week. Dorlene #25
ReplyDeleteLove the bag. The glasses made me smile - I am fortunate that mine are on my nose at all times although i have now finally gone into varifocals. Hope you get inspired for the Layout. Take care and have a great week. With love Caro x (#26)
ReplyDeleteGood to "see" the glasses having a get together : D. Love the bag. Love that the ATG has pride of place this week lol. #28

ReplyDeleteAh, the joys of being near sighted. I only need glasses when I drive. I feel for you, dear Julia. I leave my glasses in the car. I also need them when I go to a movie, but that's it.
Your bag is very useful. I am sure you will appreciate it even more once you fill it with all those much needed supplies.
Hope your week is going well and you will find your mojo has returned. I hope to join in next month. I was going to this month, then I got food poisoning, and after that, I got pneumonia. Feeling better now, though.
Hi Julia, sorry I'm late again :o) hehe love all the glasses, I used to be like that before my varifocals. Hey maybe Jan could create a special something to hold your selection of glasses, that would be SPEC tacular! Annie C #19
ReplyDeleteHi again Julia. I got the technique from Jennifer Macguire, she's brilliant! Anyway, basically you cover some cardstock with double sided sticky sheet- you could use strips of DST for that matter. Then just start laying your strips on diagonally. I found it easier to partly peel back the backing, and work from the middle to one end, then flip it and do the other half. If you're going to die cut it, I really think it will be much easier if you use really thin cardstock as the base, or even paper. The card strips will give it some strength, but it'll be easier to die cut. I used a normal thickness cardstock for the base, and it took quite a bit of shimming and multiple run throughs, and even then I had to slit some parts with a craft knife, and that was just the basic bauble shapes. Love & hugs, Shaz XxX
