What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 507

Well I’m sorry to say it’s a bit boring. All the crafting has taken place elsewhere! I went away with The Coven for a couple of days of scrapbooking and eating and chatting. My desk this morning proves that I haven’t unpacked yet. And I came home on Sunday evening, so you are allowed to be shocked or mildly irritated, or just plain resigned.
That lovely black box is gilded and silvered by hand, and now contains the photos I want to scrap. The very dear friend that gave it to me also included dividers so that I too could organise the photos by subject or year or occasion. Or in my case, not at all. Another epic fail, but it is lovely to have the pictures in a box instead of a variety of processor lab wallets! There’s also four little packets of Dolly Mixtures that I picked up yesterday, to put in my Mum’s sweetie jar when I go and visit at lunch time. Other than that, there is little happening. But that will change, not least because there’s a card deadline looming. Oh how inspiring a deadline can be!
Sorry about the missing Linky last week...way too high a temperature to think straight when posting in advance! It should all work this week. So link please, share and tell.

  1. Glad you are feeling better and had a good time with the coven, that explains the lack of visit last week. Love that pretty box (I am a sucker for a pretty box) Good luck with your card deadline (words that strike dread into a crafter!!) Helen xx

  4. What a gorgeous photo box! I have all ours in A4 envelopes... still awaiting album-sticking - one day, I tell myself, one day...

  5. Your desk isn't boring, I love the beautiful box and the color purple/lavender. Don't know why I don't make more things with it. I see darkness there, and I am in darkness now, wow can't sleep, the winter storm arrived and is howling. Seems everything is again cancelled. Yes those deadlines can come so quickly and make us wonder what went wrong. Empty handed and hustle bustle to get it done. I think it is an age thing on my end ~! Have a good week.

  7. I have a lot of my photos in the lab shop wallets in a box. I even managed to write on the front of them what they are. Wish I was that organised in other areas.

  11. I, too, have photos in a box and once they were organized and grouped... not anymore though, it's just one big pile now...oh well, even I (yes, really!) cannot be organized all the time. Enjoy lunch with your mum, enjoy the day, enjoy the week! Big hug from Holland, Marit #16

  12. Hi Julia, glad you are feeling better, and that you had a great time with the Coven. I have lots of photo boxes - I just never put photos in them! If I did I don't think they would be in any particular order lol. Have a lovely week, Heather #17

  14. I had a box full of cards I once made at a Heartfelt Creations workshop and am afraid that rather than keep them for inspiration I have had to dip into them of late. Ah well, someone might appreciate them other than me now.
Glad to hear you are feeling better - this virus or whatever it is seems to be really hitting people hard. Imagine if you had not been well enough for the Coven! You would have been totally cross. Love the idea of a weekend away with like-minded people - now when are we having a full weekend crop?
    Hugs, Neet 7 xx

I can never resist a box or tin, funny they always seem to find their way to my craft room.
Lucky you managing a crafty meeting, one day I hope to be in the UK when you are all having a get together.
    Have a great Week

  17. The box turned out great! I am trying to get my photos more organized for scrapping as well. Starting with the ones on my phone and working backwards. Let's see if we can both accomplish.. not just relocate ;-) Creative Blessings! Kelly #20

  18. Hi Julia, time with the coven sounds like great fun and I'm sure your desk will be back to normal soon. Your photo box is beautiful - I love the finish - and so much nicer to store your photos in than the usual wallets. Dolly mixtures were among my favourite sweets though, as a child growing up in Scotland, I had, still have, a very well developed sweet tooth anyway. Enjoy your visit with your mother today and good luck with making the deadline. Hugs, Elizabeth x 19

  21. Hello everyone plan to visit later today as this is a doctor week and everything seems to come to a halt with that. Sounds like a good way to keep photos, fare better than grungy envelopes.

  26. Happy Very Belated WOYWW. Glad your cough has gone. Mine (from before Christmas) is still hanging around. We haven't got plans to run workshop holidays in Spain, but there is a ready market for crafty activities there (lots of ladies from all over the world) and it might be something that we do occasionally. Basically I would like to do a workshop with Barbara, so I might as well invite other people too! Ali x #26
