I piled everything at the left end that I didn't need to help get the accounts done. And on the floor as you can just see. I work in a ring binder and an accounts book, so apart from the area where the glass cutting mat sits, I worked on top of the pens and other detritus at this end. Lazy. Sigh. Yeah. Too old to change, it's only me that has to put up with it! Just between the open jaws of my mini paper cutter at the back, you can slightly see the bucket that I decorated in a workshop conducted by Kay Carley. It was a lovely day, and I'll brag a bit more about it in a separate post!
I dropped out of sight last week and didn't visit many desks or blog again, sorry about that. This week will be more gentle on my lovely family and things will be as normal as a wonky woman can make them!
Join in then please, if only to take my mind off the football tonight (Do It England!), I can hardly bear to watch, but I can't look away! I think that might be a syndrome....or something! Put WOYWW in your post title so we can find your revelations without delay!
Ooh, early bird today! I refreshed, not really expecting to find the post yet... I'm too old to change the way I live in my crafty mess too.... Will be watching too, of course, tonight... fearing the worst, hoping for the best..we can do this... it's "only" France in the final after all!! Looking forward to hearing about the bucket workshop.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Julia, there's a word for everything but there's nothing wrong with a routine especially if it works for you. I'm in desperate need of a clear up but hours are so short and it's far to nice to be indoors when we get a moment to myself. Look forward to hearing about the Kay Carly workshop.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the sunshine and the footie..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Creative hugs & Thanks for hosting.

Morning Julia. The fact of no account books now on your desk means - whoopee doo! - time for craft again, time for football, time for a little G and something..
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Take care. God bless.

You can keep the footie and the accounts as far as I’m concerned, Julia! Your post pricked my conscience because I haven’t yet made a start on last month’s accounts and I need to get on with them. I am fortunate in having a separate area for office stuff so it needn’t interfere with the chaos that is my studio at present. I don’t know how mess and muddle accumulate so rapidly with no assistance from Shoshi, but tidiness takes time and effort!! I hate the heat...
ReplyDeleteI did manage to do a bit at my studio desk this week, though, and there’s always the knitting.
Happy WOYWW,

I'll be watching the footie from another room, can't actually face the tension! Be great to hear more about your bucket day and see what you did...hugs to you all,

I feel for you and that tax system you have. Some things taxed what seems like twice and others just once. I'd need a doctorate in accounting if I lived in England. Good for you and your wonky ways.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to reading about the workshop you took. Seems weird to read you took instead of gave.
Hi Julia, I'm hoping to do more visiting this week too. Good luck with all the accounts; I look forward to seeing more of the bucket. hope you had a good birthday. Sarah #14
ReplyDeleteI think you are definitely suffering from FOMO.....yes it exists apparently. Fear of missing out! Can’t watch but can’t miss it either and I’m sorry to say there’s no cure for it and I’ve got it too.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
Hi Julia, if you're happy with the way things are what does it matter. Unfortunately I am not Lol! got to the stage where I have to do something as I can't find stuff and it's driving me mad so something has to happen soon. Sorry for the moan today. Apart from that as you will see I've been busy doing something a bit different which has definitely made me smile a bit, hope you like them. Happy woyww, Angela x13x
ReplyDeleteLove all the busy-ness, Julia. Hope you got the books done OK. I'm having a calm bit of time before having to get on with other non-crafty things ... just finished that cuppa, so need to move soon. Hope you have a good day - Hazel, WOYWW 17 x
ReplyDeleteLove the desk and the fact that it gets lovely sunlight. I know what you mean about the football. I am taking Alex to watch it on the big screen at church (safer than the pub) where the atmosphere is fantastic. I can hardly bear to watch so sit at the back with my friends while he is at the front avidly watching the whole thing! Hope you have a good day and tonight isnt too stressful! Caro x (#17)
ReplyDeleteFootball fever all round then!! I have Ben here all day so I hope it's an exciting match or I will probably fall asleep half way through!! xx Jo
ReplyDeleteIt's 4:30 in the wee hours, but something woke me...your desk is decent ! I rarely can say that about mine. Anxious to hear about the bucket decor. I could not go back to working with any aspect of accounting. Barely can take care of managing my moms paperwork.over 50 yrs of it and I was broken.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait until our college football starts, I love it. Hope you have favorable results Enjoy your week
I am the opposite and cant work in a crafty mess as it makes me irritated. At least you weren't distracted and got your accounts done.
ReplyDeleteI am in the minority and haven't watched to football - oops! Have a great day Karen #24
Hi Julia, well, one thing I won't be doing is watching the football. No interest in any sports whatsoever. Poor Hubby will be struggling at work this evening, as loads of people have got the shift off for the football. He'll watch it on Sunday if they get through- he said it's all anyone at work talks about, so at least he can join the conversations that way. :) Love & Hugs,
ReplyDeleteShaz XxXx #5
Happy WOYWW. No football here - we have got the Tour de France to watch, although I have noticed that the highlights show is not until 10 pm tonight, rather than the usual 7 pm! Hubby has 2 lots of VAT to sort out, but keeps putting it off. Several thousand pounds to get back, so he knows it will be a few hours of work that will be very worthwhile when he gets round to it. I keep away from the accounts, apart from filing invoices and going to the meetings with the accountant/bank manager. Ali x #21
ReplyDeleteJulia I hope you don't get glitter and glue on Mr D's books!!
ReplyDeleteFootball will be on here as it's England but I just half watch if it gets interesting, we're more interested in the Tour De France too, I would love to go and see it but standing for hours to watch them wizz by might not be too much fun.
Happy WOYWW

ReplyDeleteHiJulia, I'd say I was too old to change too but I keep trying. I dream of keeping my workroom tidy, organised and beautiful! You'll be enjoying the sunshine by now while I enjoy the rain ... it's doing the garden good and it is still very warm outside. As for the football, the EM will be watching - I make myself scarce though. It's not that I'm not keen for England to win, it's that his shouts when something important happens is ear-splitting and I can't be doing with it. Hope you do indeed have a 'normal' week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #29 (a slightly improved position this week)
ReplyDeleteHello Julia. I feel compelled to keep trying to tidy up! I rarely ever succeed though.
ReplyDeleteI would like to watch the match my granddaughter plays football and loves it as do my grandsons so I try to be keen and interested. I did get quite animated with last two Eng matches! Have a great week. Anne x #28

Our son is a big fan and I think has watched every game of the World Cup. Good luck! So you have a glass mat. I just showed the one I got on my blog today. Is yours a TH, or were there other versions, and his just came later. His was the first time I heard about glass mats. Happy WOYWW! #30
ReplyDeleteHate that real life had to interrupt your play time. Sadly, I can relate. hehe Hope you're back to playing soon. Splay those fingers wide across your eyes as you try not to watch the game ;-) Creative Blessings! Kelly #31
ReplyDeleteThe World Cup has definitely taken over our lives lately. Even though the US was not in it, it's still so exciting and each game has been fun to watch. Your desk looks wonderful. Have a great week! Dorlene #34
ReplyDeleteI do not like doing the books but it all falls on me in February. Looks like you're about ready to start playing again! How's the add on coming along?
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Hi Julia. Fortunately I rarely work at home, so my craft desk can be left in chaos. But I couldn't cope if it was, so I end up tidying up every week and then forgetting where I have put things. I won't be watching all the footie, but will watch the last 15 minutes or so. Mr M isn't into it, so no problem there. Enjoy your crafting when you have finished your accounting. Have a lovely week Heather x #12
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, I love that you still have daylight streaming through to your space even with the construction going on. I have not posted any desk shots because, they are just piles of shopping loot and so, Shrugs. just thought I would say Hey.
ReplyDelete~Stacy
I just love the sandal that's being advertised at the end of your comments - pity the advert keeps changing!!
ReplyDeleteSo here I am, after the ball is over!!!!
Back to normality at least, the heat has gone, so have the flags unfortunately but nuff zed.
I am trying to work out why anyone would want to decorate a bucket?!? Look forward to your posting.....

Hi again Julia, have a look in The Works. When I saw them in there, they had rectangles, circles, squares and ovals. :) failing that, Aliexpress is probably your best bet for a sensible price. Hugs, Shaz XxX
ReplyDeleteOHMY Julia... what an exciting match that was yesterday.. I hope you got through it allright, so sorry England didn't win. The goalkeeper was the best! Love from Holland (not part of the World Cup this time...) Marit #19
ReplyDeleteI was convinced I had posted on here, then when I came to shut off I just glanced at the first paragraph and realised I maybe hadn't so here I am, better late than never???
ReplyDeleteAs for being "lazy" you haven't met me and I don't think someone who crafts like you do and helps with the family business is lazy, anything but ...
Sorry about the football, I only watched the first half, couldn't stand the excitement for the second but am gutted that we didn't but hopeful that we will improve with that young team for next time.
Have a good week, hope you still have the sunshine (ours went on holiday today)
Hugs, Neet 6 xx
HI Julia, I love how your desk always looks like you just this second got up and walked away - it always makes me want to get in there, have a rummage about and play :o) Annie C #16
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit, Julia, and I'm glad you like my stripy knitting. I always think black is great for framing things or dividing colours. My friend was very pleased with the heart, and I was also very glad of the time-saving with it being the same initials! I am not adding any flavouring to the kefir - we both like it as it is, but you can add what you like and even do a 2nd fermentation with fruit, or use it in smoothies etc.
