What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 464

Taken on Tuesday early evening and untouched since! In the spirit of using stuff up and using it in a useful way, I've finished a really nice pad of papers by making a couple of  concertina fold out mini albums. They will make good gifts. The pattern I used from Anna Komenda on You Tube is very simple, and to create a decent amount of room for photos and embellishments, she scores a 'gutter' between folds. the patterned papers are stuck back to back which reveals the plain white gutters, so I decided to pearl them up. And  here they are, being given adequate drying time for once. Dang I'm so impatient, doing this sort of thing really kills me! These mini albums aren't nearly as messy to make as they are to embellish, so for now, my desk looks uncluttered. For now gentle Desker. Do not fret, I will photograph the shambles that is to come!
Please share what you're working on so that the likes of me can come round and copy. Put WOYWW in your blog post title and link here. Lovely. Please note that I'm on the cusp of going away. I may not be allowed as much internet access as I want. We'll see. You can tell I'm nearly ready..the fridge is stacked with the sort of food we never eat. Student house sitters. I think it may cost me more than my actual holiday!

  19. I love your calm before the storm shot, great way to use up some of your paper stash or break the tip of the iceberg. Enjoy your time away, i'm sure you will be ordering a take away on your return as you'll not have a crumb left in the house hee hee!!

  21. I'm so terrible at folding books, my folds go all wonky and are never nice and neat like yours. It looks fab. Hope you are going to have lots of fun while your away - shouldn't think you'll want to copy what I'm up to - it's driving me loopy.

  22. Morning!! Really wish I was going away, need another holiday! I am impatient too, and although I like the old pearl drops and glitter etc, it doesn't matter where I put the project to dry I ALWAYS either put something on top of it or put my hand in it. Only works if I physically WALK AWAY from the craft room for a couple of hours!. When we go away the fridge is full of pizza and ready meals. I don't know why I bother though, when we return the recycle box is just full of takeaway boxes. Have a good break xx

  24. Thanks Julia for the You Tube idea. Just what I've been thinking about. I'm about u tubed out..viewing Sewing Machine operation on my serger and computerized machine. But learned a lot... No help when you order stuff online. Have a wonderful time away. People here too are getting house sitters. and LOTS of Security videos.

  25. I really need to get out of my box. I make cards, I need to explore and try out other stuff, I just never know what to do with it once it's done!
    Happy Wednesday!

  27. Ooh that looks really interesting Julia, and you have a lot more space for it to fold out and air dry that normal too :)
I also have things I had to walk away from last night and since all the mess is still out it will probably continue next time I am home. well, hopefully the house sitters will actually eat it all so, that you do not have left overs you don't want when you do return home. :) Have a great trip! ~Stacy #26

  28. Hi Julia! great way to use up scraps! I hope you enjoy your trip - are the students going to post for you! That would be fun - have them take pictures of what they are doing in your absence! I posted a PS on how I got into stamping, as per your last post! Have a great week, Lindart #27

  30. Umm--after reading student house sitters, my brain forgot everything else in your post. Known students? Is this a service over there? And you have to feed them? huh! Who would have thunk?
    Have an awesome vacation!
