What's On Your WOrkdesk? Wednesday 432
Well gentle Desker, I did clear up. And, I have sort of cleared up between cards over the weekend too. You can see the edge of the bin, it's perched on my seat..I was about to clear and tidy again when a much better idea came to me. So I walked away. I had been working on a Christmas card as you can see, using a specific die. I don't think it's there yet...somehow the snowman is too, erm......white. The thin nib pens are out because I was drawing stitches around an earlier attempt. See the Versacolour ink pad at the right there abandoned at a jaunty angle by my right-hand-tools? That's my white pigment ink pad. Yep, whitest I own. Thank goodness for White embossing powder! Deckchair is untroubled by card blanks (which is enough proof that I tidied, frankly), or my iPad. That's because I used it to take the pic this morning and have put it somewhere. Probably next to the coffee that I really need. Join us will you? Show and tell about your work space, it will be nice!
just made a cuppa and checked to see if you're here - you're on last week by the way! I'm going back to bed for a bit on my week off!
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia - well, ditto with Helen, really. made a panad (a Welsh cuppa), came looked - and there you were. I rather like your snowman - even if he is still virgin and white...
ReplyDeleteTake care. See you soon. God bless.

Mm Julia a good white embossing powder is valuable thing, I've a dud Hero Arts and a great Wow EP.
ReplyDeleteWell done on tidying, I haven't I've just moved to a clearer space. :D
Well, 'tis hot here downunder, we're in drought pretty well in lots of Oz and bushfire season has started with total fire ban today.
Happy WOYWW, I'm going to be AWOL for few weeks so have a grand time at crop and special love to all from Oz.
Prayer hugs,
Shaz in Oz.x 3
Happy WOYWW. Now I need some white embossing powder - which I had not even thought about until now! Purchasing crafty stash is slowly creeping back into my life, but I am restricting myself to a small amount each month. Still got credit card debt to clear. Ali x #7
ReplyDeleteOne day my crafting mojo will return, so nice to see activity elsewhere, shows me there is hope at least. BJ#8
ReplyDeleteLove your white snowman, your desk looks extremely busy. Have a good week. Anickoana
ReplyDeleteEarly cuppa for me to. There's to many wintery words appearing for me, I've hardly had me thick tights off this year. Maybe I should emigrate for a bit. Go and see if I can find a Ten Bob Ted anywhere. Still no sightings I'm afraid. Sad to say
ReplyDeleteLynn x
I'm chuckling at you drawing stitches on....maybe I should try that? I have a machine here that does that 😀😀😀😀😀
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week....not long now til we all have a play day.
Hugs,
Annie x
Something rudely awakened me so what better to do then get a couple early A.M. projects off my short list before we head out. Your upside down tree die gave me an idea for a friend's card..She has an upside down tree. I spotted some round clear stamps too and you have fun layers on your Snowman card. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteHave I made a mistake I have it as week 432.... anyway not to worry whatever number it is it's always a pleasure to be here... I love your snowman and the design of the card its fabulous... packed busy creative desk as always... Have a happy WOYWW... May #15
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, you've inspired me or maybe just embarrassed me into making Christmas cards well one or two anyway but at least I've got started so thanks for that. Have a great woyww and happy crafting, Angela x16x
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia! Just a quick drive by this morning, plan to come back for a proper nosey later all being well. Tidying should always give way to better ideas in my book :o) I love desks like yours, because I can show my DH and prove that it isn't only mine which looks like that! You can't make an omelette without breaking eggs and all that. Have a lovely day. Annie C #17
ReplyDeleteOoh love the idea of the snowman die cut from textured white card, it looks great.I also agree white embossing powder is SO much better than ink (and more consistent).
ReplyDeleteKyla #19
Ok, ok. I have stacked all my Christmas Boxes within reach .....hoping to spend a day creating (sometime) and not just looking at all the contents!
ReplyDeleteLove all the activity on your desk, no reading glasses though ....
Have a good week, 17 days to crop I think .... but who's counting!!!

Hi Julia, ah, the eternal hunt for a good white inkpad- who'd have thought there were so many different whites? I can say on the EP front, WOW Opaque Bright White is the whitest powder I've found, and I've tried a few. Maybe a touch of very pale blue around the edges of the snowman? Be seeing you in a couple of weeks. Love & Hugs, Shaz XxX#6
ReplyDeleteI love Annie's comment on your stitching - we fabric gals would be hopeless without a needle and thread - even if I do now need glasses to thread it!! xx Jo
ReplyDeleteI like that snowman card very much, it made me smile! I r member once having to paint a snow scene (for Art A level) with nothing but blue to suggest the shadows. An interesting exercise 😊 See you Sunday, woohoo!!
ReplyDeleteHugs LLJ 4 xxx
Hi Julia, I think the best description of your desk is hugger-mugger (http://www.dictionary.com/browse/hugger-mugger).
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW

Such a tidy desk Julia! Well, for YOU that is ;) but I can see it too! My 'white' ink pad looks just like yours... white embossing powder you say? Great idea! I may go out to buy me some! HOpe you have a lovely week. Hug from windy Holland, Marit #25
ReplyDeleteI have week 432 as well. Finally managed to sort out crop attendance and have confirmed on that page too. Look forward to seeing everyone with my crafty friend (she's not imaginary lol). Happy WOYWW Sarah #26
ReplyDeleteFinding a perfect white ink,pen and EP rivals a search for the holy grail! I think I've finally got the pen(Signo Uniball). OF course my option for you snow man would be a touch of Distress Pumice around the edges...
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
-K #28
Hi Julia! I love the snowman just as he is. I have tried the faux stitching, but used a white gel pen. Sometimes it looks good, sometimes not so good! Have a lovely week, Heather #30
ReplyDeleteHi Julia,I can tell you cleaned :) ah, the snowman I had to laugh over the versamark being your whitest pad... (because, I do the same thing, heat emboss in white lol)
ReplyDeleteback to the snowman, what if you rubbed some antique linen on the edge of him to give him a little more of a rustic feel because, the background is so vibrant? ( or do it on a scrap one and just set it on the card to see if you like that or not?) just a thought, ~Stacy #33
Busy as usual, Julia! Well done with the tidying. Mine is a mess these days - there's stuff all over the room needing putting away. One day, one day... Been so busy with other things lately! Still, I did manage to join in WOYWW this week, although rather late in the day!
ReplyDeleteShoshi #35
I am finally back on track with my posting - I see you are making a C card ! I haven't even thought of that yet but it worries me! I better get on it! Love your card and I think it is fine - the snowmen are usually white! :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is just a bit more then 2 weeks till the Wales crop! Can't wait - I will see you there!!!
Love and hugs,
CARDARIAN
Lovely busy desk with Mr snowman front and center!I think he looks great with his golden scarf! Have a great week, and thanks for sharing! Lindart #31
ReplyDeleteI like the look of your bin!
ReplyDeleteIf your snowman is too white why not put a bit of very very pale blue on the edges of him, maybe just down one side. Usually works a treat. Then of course there is twinkly stuff, all C cards benefit from twinkly stuff.
Have a good week and EEEEK see you soon!
Hugs, Neet 10 xx
That is one messy desk Ms. Julia.
ReplyDeleteApril
Lots going on with your desk Julia. The snowman is rather cute.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
