What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 422
It really is 422 gentle Desker. Many of you noticed that by going away, I stepped into a time warp and well, cocked up the week numbers! LLJ reminded me yesterday to repeat last week. Making sense? Oh good.
It's nice and warm, so the door is open, and gives you a great view of 3 weeks growth on the building site. The pink flower is an ever-lasting sweet pea which we dug up last summer. Despite the trunk being as thick as my wrist, it appears that we didn't get the better of it! The rest of the green is just weeds and I shall be out there, regaining control, any day now. My desk is piled with stuff. Top right are bits from card making and some bits to scrapbook that survived the clean-up before we went away. Apart from the ice cream tub, the rest is leaflets, souvenirs, purchases and a couple of gifts from our US trip. The 'Me Journal' at front right was a gift from a new friend..seems she got me totally and utterly, huh! The wrapped and be-ribboned gift is from my Sissy for my birthday. She's organised! In the ice cream box there's a plastic beer glass from the Bees stadium in Salt Lake City. We went to a baseball game. The opportunity for plastic souvenirs was immense and irresistible. I'll talk more about some of these things soon. If that's a promise, show us all your, huh? Link here and we'll visit. I thank you.
good to see you home safe from what I am sure was a fabulous and amazing trip - and that your desk is back to normal!! Great to see the doors open onto your garden, too.
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia. Good to have you back home. What excitements on your trip!! Looking forward to hearing about them once you have recovered and gained control of the garden.
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Welcome home from your amazing trip... looking forward to hearing more about it...( did Nigel ever get a bigger chopper)... desk looking good Have a happy week recovering from that silly jet-lag... x x
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I'm flaking and not playing. I'm hosting another group for the entire month, so I post every day for that group. However, I had to visit and say how glad I am you are home and hope you enjoyed the U.S.. Had to laugh at the plastic mug. We do seem to manufacture a lot of plastic. And most of it ends up in our landfills. Hope your holiday was as great as you had hoped it would be. Also hope Mr. Dunnit wasn't too terribly bored.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have you back ðð. Can't wait to see the highly priced, gorgeous souvenirs!
ReplyDeleteHugs LLJ 5 xx
Beautiful journal - it was the first thing I noticed :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad the weeks are back to 'normal'... I thought I had missed something lol. I hope you'll be sharing more piccies over the next few weeks - apart from the fact that I'm nosey, it would be so nice to see some of your newly-acquired treasures. But mostly, I'm nosey lol
Have a wonderful Wednes-YAY!

Oooh, loving that Me Journal - you lucky girl!
ReplyDeleteSo glad we're back on the shared numbering... I was a tad confused last week (doesn't take much, I know!)
Happy WOYWW!
Well, I was missing you so much i joined in the time warp with you! Yes, I cocked up too. In fact this week I went to LLJ's blog to check I was on the correct numbering.
ReplyDeleteGosh, I would love to go to a baseball game - never been in all the times we have visited. It's a way of life isn't it?
I am loving that journal - leave it at home when you come up north to the crop.
Nice to know you are home safe and sound, ope you get the weather to do the garden - it is summer afterall. :)
Hugs, Neet 10 xx
Nice to have you home safe and sound from your fantastic trip. You'll have lots of memories for sure.

ReplyDeleteHi Julia, nice to see you back again. We knew you'd get back to the right desk sooner or later but it really confused some Deskers just shows how much they trust you Lol! Have a great woyww and happy garden sorting, Angela x16x

Hi Julia good to see you home. I'm sure you had a fabulous time!!! Look forward to hearing about your adventures. Anne x # 13 (at the moment :-) )
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, good to see your back after what sounds like the holiday of a lifetime. Ah, the weeds! Mine have taken advantage of my absence too and I'm struggling to conquer them ... it's a slow job these days. Interesting about your everlasting sweet pea and how tough it is. I'm trying to establish a pink one, just planted before we went off on holiday, and it's struggling right now but that could be because the week we were away was hot and dry - it's rained a lot since so maybe the plant will come too yet. Look forward to more on your plastic souvenirs later. Have a great day. Elizabeth x #17
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back safe, I guess this is where the jet lag sets in! BJ#19
ReplyDeleteWelcome back although I thought you had another week out there! Looking forward to reading all about your travels - blogging's better than a diary cos you can include photos!!
ReplyDeleteLost both my sweet peas this year - chickens like sweet peas..... along with Hostas, Flocks, Geums to name but a few!!!
Have a lovely WOYWW day

I feel the need (gap in the market?) for a journal called Its all about Me and the GIn...looking forward to hearing your reflections, often times it's in the revisit we get the insights, at the time we just revel in the glory of it all..as for the building site weeds - I recommend a monthly strim I also have a funky flame thrower but you might want to take that advice under advisement...or practice with hairspray and a lighter.....it is sadly gratifying to weed a garden whilst chanting Burn Baby Burn...
ReplyDeleteAh I'm still a week ahead - just looked at last weeks number and added one! Sounds like you had a lovely holiday - lets hope the weather improves now until you get the weeding done!! (I got my daughter to do ours on all the time she had off between finishing 2nd year at uni and starting her work placement year!! - she really needed to get some fresh air after all that study!!!

Hi Julia, nice to see you back, hope the holiday was wonderful. Don't know about you, but we always bring back stuff that never sees the light of day again! Then again, I'm not a scrapbooker, so thats probably why. Have a lovely week. Hugs, Shaz #11 XXX
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW and welcome back to the UK. I got really hungry after seeing your photo of 'that' breakfast - and now snacking on crisps! I have a similar fight with weeds in our garden - it is neverending and, apart from mowing grass, it is all I do in a 'green fingered sort of way'. Ali x #25
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good holiday. And lovely to see your sister, I imagine. Hope you didn't bring back too much plastic, unless it's a useful crafting tool, of some sort :)
ReplyDeleteRosA # 29
Welcome Home! I'm glad you had a great trip, and your comment about the plastic souvenirs made me laugh. Have a great week getting settled..always seems coming back takes a whole 'nother week to get back in the swing of things.

I love your open door! All that lovely freshness. I sometimes open my window when the weather is nice (those couple times of year) but then I have to doubly medicate the cat and I because of our allergies to everything that grows out there.
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW #422 thanks for sharing xx Jan (31)
ReplyDeletebetter late then never...I woke up feeling well enough to post but didn't have any crafty stuff to share so shared the surgery! If anyone gets grossed out just delete it...I just wanted to say hi! Vickie #34
ReplyDeleteSo crafting and an empty beer glass and a gin bible now that sounds like a fun mess lol
ReplyDeleteHugs Nikki 6
thanks for visiting :)
You know I love a messy messy desk. Not that your desk is messy or anything. It's creative. ;-)
ReplyDeleteApril
P.S. Glad you are back home safe and sound.
Welcome back, the thing that caught my eye is the Gin Bible! Back to reality now. Have a good week catching up on chores. Anickoana
ReplyDeleteSo, blogger decided I should be fashionably late this week ha ha. I am surprised on that sweet pea plant, the ones we have tried growing here never come back up the next year. they are really only annuals that struggle.

Welcome home! I'm glad you had a good time in the States! I'm a day late this week, as I was at a cottage for two days, but I couldn't just skip WOYWW! That journal looks awesome! Lots of nice things collected to pop into a travel journal! Thanks for sharing, Lindart #37
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back, Julia! Glad you had a good trip Hugs, Lynne #35
