What's On Your Wordesk? Wednesday 407

Well mine's a work in progress, this was taken at about 5pm on Tuesday evening. Cold again here, after being horribly wet and hail-y. Looking forward to continuous spring like days!
So I'm playing with some new stamps from a range called 'For the Love of Stamps' by Hunky Dory. And I have a set of glittery coloured ink pens in the tub at left. They are by Dawn Bibby and called Moon Sparkles. But when I peeled the black label off one them, it clearly says Wink Of Stella. I know that we all buy the same thing under different brands, but this is really a cheap re-brand! Great pens though, I must say! You can just see the flowered tissue paper. It has been stuck to card, so saved from the bin after the 'it's got a week' rule. I now have to move it on a bit as a project or the card and the tissue will have to go in the bin!
Good view of the abandoned building site too - someone asked what we're doing - we're going to add a large room onto the rear ground floor which will actually encompass the door/window in front of my desk, so major changes will have to occur!
Share your surfaces then will ya, it'll be lovely to sup coffee and visit you. Mind, I may be a little later than I usually am - got an appointment with the facial specialists today; am hoping they are as pleased with the progress as I am. The old face is definitely not as wonky as it was!

  1. that seems a bit of blatant "rip off" going on...although not sure who's losing out.. The desk is a joy today, lots to rummage through (should have put my glasses on!)
Hope the visit to the specialist goes well, I am sure they will be pleased with your progress. xx

  2. Only a week till the bin? that's Miss Controll at her desk! I've only tried the wink in clear. I truly hope I don't like the colors- where will they go? no expansion insight here!
I hope you enjoy visiting my "other" desk today. Truly our children are #1!

  4. Morning Julia. Trust your appointment goes really well, and the specialist is indeed happy with your progress - Yippee - well done!! Having been looking at copyright this week, those pens do seem like cheating somewhere, don't they? However... Have a great week, enjoy playing, and hope the new room progresses a little further - if Spring ever appears!
    Take care. God bless.

  5. Happy WOYWW. Wink of Stella pens are always highly reviewed by crafters, and I would be more inclined to buy them without the Dawn rebranding! Hope your appointment with the specialist goes smoothly today. Ali x #10

  7. Morning Julia. I love that peacock, beautiful colours.
Hope your appointment goes alright and it is really good news.
Hope the building site can progress soon, being 'stuck' with something like that can be really demoralising.
    Have a good week,God bless,

  8. Let us know how you go on with the specialist - am sure they will be thrilled with your progress. It really is fabulous!
Thanks for the explanation of the building work, another room, sounds wonderful - I would love another room built especially for my crafting but i guess it is just a pipe dream.
I cannot get over those pens. You really mean they have just stuck a label on another product and marketed it as their own? Hope the price was a lot less than the originals!
    My gast is flabbered!
    Love, Neet 8 xx

  9. Well, wink of Stella ARE fab so I could see WHY people want to rip them off but, honestly, they COULD have done a little better by the sound of it!!

Best of luck at your appointment and what great news that your "wonky old face" is less wonky - hope the consultant agrees with you too.

    Happy WOYWW

  10. The new build sounds exciting Julia....I bet you want it built yesterday though. It all takes time and the better weather is on its way. Really hope all goes well with the medics today. You've worked hard with your facial exercises and they will see a big difference I'm sure.
    Big hugs,

  12. I like the look of those new pens - I have the clear Wink of Stella and can't resist adding it to everything! Best wishes with the building programme - at least the weather should be improving a bit as it progresses and affects the rest of the house.

  13. Sounds a bit naughty sticking another label over the pens but sure they are not the only ones to do it. Love how you've used them too. That looks like a big job that's going on at yours, can't wait to see it finished. Have a great woyww and happy crafting when you get the chance, Angela x16x. PS off to the gym now but back soon to catch up xXx

  16. Good luck with the appointment, Julia. You are going great guns, you must be so pleased.
Those Hunkdory stamps are great aren't they, I couldn't resist the little giraffe one.
Sounds like you have big plans afoot, nice to have something to look forward too although I'm sure you'll tear your hair out before it all turns beautiful in the end, building work is like that isn't it.

  17. Only taken 20mins to get on here today - PC must be feeling Springlike!!!!!!
If your extension goes along the lines of my roof .... just think of all the pleasure you'll have when you retire! lol
Love the colours on the card, I just shrugged my shoulders at the pen story ..... there's a lot of it about.....
Hope all goes well with the specialist and he is as pleased as you are with your progress.
    Take care my friend

  19. How cheeky of Ms Bibby! I love my clear Wink of Stella for a bit of subtle glimmer. Hope the appt goes well.

  20. That rebranding really does sound cheap. I don't think I've encountered that yet. Blessings!

  21. I'm a bit late today, didn't want to get up as the rain is so horrid.
As for the pens, that's a bit sneaky of Dawn don't you think???
Hope your appointment goes OK. BJ#29

  22. Hi Julia, I see those crazy birds are still on your desk just waiting for more usage. Wink of Stella pens are quite expensive so I hope the rebranding, cheap as it is, made the pens cheap too. I think I need to adopt your 'one week' rule too - stuff seems to hang around at the back of my desk forever. I'm sure they specialists are going to be delighted with your progress - I've seen the photo and you're wonderful! Hugs, Elizabeth x #30

PS: In answer to your question in your last post, I'm getting very choosy about what stamp sets I buy now. In fact, not just stamps sets but supplies in general - if I can't see it earning it's place in my stash it isn't bought no matter how gorgeous it is.

  23. Wishing you sunshine and flowers. This cold, windy, damp weather needs to leave. Your sparkly image is adorable. And I see the "Birds". I've had this set forever and have never opened it. Maybe today, just to make me feel better ! I don't envy you for having to go through a construction project. Lots of work moving and clean up. Best Wishes with your appointment.

  24. Hi Julia, I really hope you get good news today too. I think though, when you feel improved, you know you are getting better. Loving the desk, looking very busy. How cheeky are those pens though! You'd expect they'd have made sure the secret stayed a secret! Love and Hugs to you, Shaz. XxXx #5

  25. Inky joy there Julia great to see such Preety coloured stamping...sad you're going to lose your view, but such is the price of progress I guess. I'm wondering re pens if it's the supplier of pen originally that sold off some with new labels as an order for another firm, curious whichever way ...
So glad you're feeling you're better than you were, and pray that they too are very pleased with you in every respect. Seniding hugs and prayers dear faithful Queen of Deskland.
    Happy WOYWW!!
Thanks for sharing your desky space!

  26. Yikes! That is some serious 'rebranding'. Good luck with the appointment - hope there is good news!

It's always fun playing with new stamps. I have so many of them I finally dragged out some I haven't used before and stamped away. Now to do something with the images!

  29. I love the look of that card...wish I could get in closer. Wow! Talk about a backwards deal. It's like paying for a NYC Gucci knock-off, but getting the real thing! I only have a few, but I do love those pens.

Good luck at your appointment. Have a great rest of the week.

  30. That certainly was a cheap rebrand! LOL I use the Wink of Stella pens in my Bible journaling & really like them because they add just the right amount of shimmer and dry so quickly!

    Have a great week!

  31. Sending lots of positive energy for your appointment today. Odd on that rebranding. You'd think they'd be a bit more clever. Rainy/ hail-ly here too on and off all week. sure messes with internet time. Creative Blessings! Kelly #40

  33. ah, I think I could benefit from a 2 week rule but, one week would be too tight for me some days... is the new building going to expand your studio space? that must be really exciting to see it take shape. :) ~Stacy #42

  34. Here is an insider tip... it really only matters what the patient thinks, we know a good job when we see it, and clinically we can say be on your way and please Mrs D do smile proudly for your wonk is Less.....but beauty is in the beholder and I suspect there is a very grateful Mr D that the worst outcome was a bit of lopsidedness... and what's that between lifers? Desk wise I am liking the colour schemes, and brand is only important when you want to rebuy an exact match eh?- impossible with a rebrand... I am #43 today - as I did my stuff (one can't say sorted my shit on here can one?) this morning and it took me rather longer than anticipated...or less if you consider my language limitations....actually used the merde word on Monday....en Publique - shame upon me....

  35. There are certain crafting personalities that I don't trust and TBH really don't like - they seem to be in it just for the cash and not for the crafting community. I'll mention no names lol
I am running VERY late today as I have not been well again - too much shopping yesterday wore me out lol.
We are doing work on the garden - putting off the re-modelling of my tiny kitchen - I just hate all the upheaval and I don't cope well with change :(
Your desk, as always... well, it's a bit of an inspiration and always honest - I like that :)
    Happy Wednesday!
