Taken late Tuesday afternoon, this picture is pretty lacking in light, but it had been a really beautiful and clear, cold day. You can see space on the desk, which is the sign of a bit of tidying between works, and a couple of finished cards on the ipad stand - more of those as the month unfolds. The pile on the right in the foreground is actually part of December's birthday gifts to be given, so in a way, the reflection on the packaging is a good thing! At back left is a box containing more of the bark stars that you see on the white card. And a roll of hessian behind that, currently awaiting a moment of inspiration. Ho Ho Ho she chuckles, ironically!

I love that star card! haven't done any more cards since crop, the cold has descended that I wrote about in today's post and it's a struggle to do anything... eek! have a great week.

ReplyDeleteMorning Miss! The star looks interesting, hope we get a close up before too long. Funny how the white card itself looks a pale blue when it is bathed in the evening light.
I spy some Cut N' Dry on your desk, now what are you planning on using that for?
Have been looking for your iPad stand but cannot find it (my eyes and this early morning)and just realised I did not put my new mobile phone stand on my desk - a new purchase which I just had to buy. Don't tell him indoors but it doesn't really work for my phone, I just loved it and had to pop it in our shopping basket.
Hugs Neet 2 xx
a moment inspiration. Is that to much to ask? It's all I want for Christmas.... well, and maybe world peace and a few other things! thanks for this bit of peacemaking Julia!

I like the variety of pretty cards. What is Cut N Dry? Our weather is about the same, except some snow forecast for our area. Hope it falls and fades. I don't know what hessian is either. Hope to learn a lot today. It's the middle of the night and if I go about visiting I'll need those big glasses. Have to call it a night. Enjoy a fun week
ReplyDeletecan't get onto Morti's blog today, blogger is giving me a message saying my connection is not private... not sure if it's an issue my end or hers.. will try after work!!
ReplyDeleteLots going on at your place. Just wondering what that big pink handled thing is next to the sticky tape?Is it one of those glue roll tape thingamies? It's a whopper if it is!!I could use one of those. We can only buy small ones. They run out in 5 minutes!
ReplyDeleteGlad you all had loads of fun at The Crop!

Morning Julia, I love the star card, very clean and simple, but very stylish. I can just see Harrods selling a pack of 5 of those for £10. You could make your fortune like that.
ReplyDeleteBless you

Bark stars? Now I've heard of everything! It looks gorgeous from this angle.
ReplyDeleteI remember about six or so years ago, I got a sheet of that cut and dry foam on clearance and did a happy dance. People at the store thought I was crazy, but I knew exactly what I wanted to use it for, and unfortunately (fortunate for me, though), most of the store patrons didn't care for it. Have a super week.
Twinkle, twinkle.... your blogpost sparkles as usual, and so is your card. Love the stars! Happy woyww dear, enjoy the day. Hug from (cold, too) Holland. Marit #16

What a hive of industry, Julia. I've never heard of bark stars before so looked them up - they look gorgeous - fabulous texture! I am sure they would go well with the hessian. A really un-trad Christmas colour and all the better for that - one can get a bit fed up with red and green at this time of year!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,

My post uses a little bit of "artists licence", hope that is OK.
ReplyDeleteI still haven't got any Christmas crafting done, maybe tomorrow when December hits I will feel more like it. Glad to see you are getting to grips with the season! BJ#28
Happy WOYWW. I took the easy option and bought Christmas cards (well most of them - going to make a grand total of five for very close family!). They are written out and waiting for the delivery of my personalised Christmas design address labels to put on back of envies (a lot of my family get our address wrong, and it isn't particularly Welsh!). So much easier - but I do look at the large box of Christmas stash and wonder if I will ever use it. Going to donate a lot to a local Brownie group next year. Ali x #29
ReplyDeleteHa! What a morning - lots of interruptions and I just get back to comment now! Love the star card - is this the first of many? I love that you are brave enough to put your specs down on your desk - if mine weren't round my neck I just know I would lose mine! Hugs, Chrisx 27
ReplyDeleteIt looks like things are happening on your desk, Julia and it sounds like you've got your mojo back. I am almost finished with Christmas cards now. I'm finally getting into enjoying making them so there might be a few more done than needed.

Good morning Julia. Your desk looks very busy with your today list in action and I am loving the cards you have made for me still just one done. I have been so busy with decorating and keep the house clean minus the basement where I craft just feel not enough hours in the day to what I would love to be doing. Seeing out your window I notice no snow..... oh how I would love no snow once again. My DH called to remind me not to forget to plug in car as colder weather is coming, yup it is and cold it will be getting like -25 or more.BRRRRR where he is working already about that cold been super lucky to be -10 here for so long. Must ask Santa to move me to somewhat warmer weather soon. Love the bark star and the cards I spy are beautiful. Have a wonderful crafty week. Ho ho ho (grinning as christmas is fast approaching) Hugs Always ~Anne L#15
ReplyDeleteBark stars? I like the way it looks and did you make them? I live in a log home so anything natural is going to be something I love. Cold, a beautiful cold day, oh I'd love one of those, it's raining finally and we need it, but it's warm, to warm for almost Dec. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteAngie
A starry desk and a sign of lots of action.

The crop sounds like it was such fun. And your desk is a picture of perfect crafty happiness today. Card making season is in full swing! Sandy Leigh #38
ReplyDeleteA moment of inspiration! I've been hoping for more than a few of them, Julia, because tomorrow is the first of December and I have a backlog of items on my 'to do' list! From your photo it does look as though you've been busy cardmaking and I do like the starry one lying on your desk. I've just noticed two bottle of glue standing upside down, beside the sellotape dispenser, but can't work out what is keeping them upright. Whatever it is , it's a great idea. Happy WOYWW and have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #39
ReplyDeleteYour star card is so pretty. Have a wonderful week. Dorlene #40
