What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 382

A mess is on my desk. It's unchanged from the weekend, except for the added packet from Snapfish.
I ordered some photos because I'm going on retreat in a few weeks and the 2 kerjillion unscrapped photos I already have didn't really inspire me to scrap them. And a 'few weeks' is 3 weeks and I really, really need all of that time to get prepared. I do. I'm not entirely sure how my desk has become such a mess, but if it's a reflector of the rest of my life, it's entirely accurate! Shopkeeper Gal has been patient with me and I did say I'd like to do some winter workshops. So now I must walk the walk and really look forward to clearing this lot up and doing some intense card making!
Inspire us all, will you - join in. Put a photo of your desk/work surface on your blog and link it here. Please don't blatantly link and advertise, just show us what you're up to, and with what. We'll search and buy or ask you how to get it if we want it, honest!

  6. Good luck with the plotting and planning for the workshops. You can't make cards without making a mess first so I've enjoyed seeing that you're making a mess :-)

  8. Oh Julia I so relate to your desk and the dilemma of just how did it get like this.
After a frantic session of cardmaking yesterday my tidy room, at the beginning of the day, looks decidedly dishevelled today. I really don't recall putting paper packs etc in such odd places.
I'm sure you'll be organised in time, we look forward to see what you come up with for shopkeeper gal!
Happy WOYWW!!! Shaz in Oz.x #13 I think.

  11. Good luck with all your prepping - at least your desk shows you've been busy and creative, plus you've reminded me I have several years worth of photos to print out and put in photo albums.

  13. Hi Julia, love your desk! I can go from 0 to messy in seconds, and this weeks does actually show that. Although it wasn't too bad- the worst is when I also have open tubs of papers and stuff on the floor around the desk, then it gets a tad dangerous! I'm sure you'll get your workshops organised, and we'll see some fab cards as always. Lots of love & hugs, Shaz xx

  14. busy desk! At least your photos are printed…I have been making layouts and had to stop to order some prints of digital images I have. I guess I could print them out here but it is some much less expensive getting them done at the getting place! Congrats on doing the classes this fall. Wish you were closer I would take a few this year. Have a great week. Vickie #25

  16. Wouldn't it be lovely to print our own photos as and when needed and in the right size! It's not the same quality though getting them professionally printed. Have fun at the crop - although I realize it's weeks away! zsuzsa #22

  17. I am scrapbooking from time to time lately and I should really go through my digital photo files to select some and get them professionally printed... I now print it myself but the colors fade away easily. Good luck preparing for the crop and the workshops, busy times ahead indeed! Happy woyww and a hug from Holland, Marit #28

  23. Hello Julia your desk looks so busy worth so many things going on and you are further then me as I have put off for months printing out my pictures. The days are starting to fly by and never seem to get enough time to really finish or start much myself. Those workshops sound like great fun. Have a great WOYWW. Hugs always ~Anne L#7

  25. ooh the retreat sounds fab Julia. Perhaps that's what I need to do to get my holiday scrapbooks in order - I haven't managed to assemble holiday scrapbook 2015 and we've just got back from holiday 2016!! Great to hear that you're getting back into the swing of workshops too. Haopy crafting, Max #33 :-)

  26. My last batch of photos are setting in their packages without having been made into page kits. I really need to get on it. Good luck prepping for your retreat. How come every time we go anywhere it always seems like more work to go and to come home? Hope you can share your card class samples when you get them worked up. Happy Wednesday, LisaDV #36

  27. a messy desk means you've been busy and that's a good thing! I'm starting to think photo organization and scrapbooking, too. Must be something in the air. You'll be ready for retreat, and for jumping back into classes, in no time. Go at a pace that is comfortable for you. Thanks for dropping by last week. Creative Blessings and Hugs - Kelly #39

  28. First step is getting those photos printed. Maybe looking through them will be inspiring. That's at least what I'm telling myself when looking through my own photos! It will come back. You've been through a lot this year. The retreat will help, I think. Being around others will help inspire.

    Have a great week

  29. during the move across continents my Mac died a death and to my horror it looked like all my digital unprinted images would be lost...the remarkable geeks recovered my hard drive and now I too feel the need to do some housekeeping ....but probably after a long list of other pressing activities eh? as i now have a table dedicated to my 'wprk' Morti felt I should make my comeback, let's see how long I can stay on grid for visits...lovely to see all the desks again...

Just so you know Niall found work I did not and our Childers happily refer to us as the off grid spoon whittler and the cracker packer...needless to say we are blissfully content in our new setting....

  30. Julia you are very humble to call that a mess. Because as you know, a crafty person is going to look at that desk and call it heaps of fun! I mean look at the cropadial laying there, just waiting to punch its way into something fabulous. Those glasses are ready to jump back on your head and get busy. And the papers and stamps and goodies are waiting for your skilled hands. It's delicious what's going on there! Hugs and have a good week. Sandy Leigh

  31. Oh how I LOVE how honest you are and give us a snap of the REAL you every week! Grin. I just got back from a four-day scrap retreat and came home totally recharged (and shared of course I shared it on my link up today) along with snaps of my True Desktop - thanks for this Julia, sometimes it's the ONLY thing that gets me out of bed on Wednesdays!... I LOVE YOU (hugs)

  32. I had to laugh about the photos Julia, I have that exact problem... Or when I do print the digital prints I end up not liking them as well as the film prints. hope the muse bug bites you quick for your workshop inspiration.

  34. I have a rather beat up top loading album that I use to make kits for pages. I write down notes and photos and slip them in a page protector along with any embellishments I want to use. Then when time and mood strike, it's mostly done (just add paper). I also write a list of stamp sets I think would work well. I only have about 40 or so decades to go lol).

    Your desk looks delightfully crafty.

  35. Your desk looks good to me! Everything cannot be done all at once, to do it properly takes time .... that's what I've learnt this past few months.
Take time to smell the roses...... even if you spend all day outside!!!
    Have a good week

  36. Your desk looks just fine to me, Julia, and, besides, time to tidy up when, well it can be done sometime, whenever, maybe never :) Good luck with the 'doing some intense card making'. With all the pottering I've been guilty of recently I could do to follow your example. Take care and have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #38

  37. I still dont know how you craft on your desk, are you hiding your actually work area and showing us your wonderful view and dumping area hahahaha, well it looks busy anyway. I have been following your 'sick' journey and was praying for you every step of the way, willing you to get better. Bridget #3

  38. Just realised I had not commented on your blog post. Slapped wrists!
Can relate to the 2 kerjjillion photos not being the right ones, I have cut loads of magazines up for my journalling but never have the right pair of eyes or lips etc and have to go in search of more. Mind you the other half thinks I am into my weird phase with what I create anyway - I just enjoy being weird for once - like wearing purple, if I don't do it now I never will.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  39. Hi Julia,
Well, I think your "mess" is reasonably under control, really! After all, you don't seem to have any piles about to topple! Do you?
Have fun with all the photos. Hope you figure out what you need to take away. That's always tricky!

  47. I didn't join in this week - nothing new on my desk and was not up to typing anything anyway - but having a quick tour around on this rainy afternoon. I have ordered from Snapfish for the first time this week. Made up a couple of collage prints using their embellies etc and will be interesting to see how they turn out. Ali x
