I was born at 10 past 6 in the early evening. So was my daughter. Clearly, it's a genetic thing, not just a coincidence.
Since my sister made me, I have had 2 cream teas in the last week. One was at lunchtime.
There are 4 more listening hours on my latest audio book. Wild Swans - Jung Chang. I'm very late to the party with 'reading' this - I'm finding it quite compelling.
It takes me 3 minutes and 38 seconds to walk to Jan's new home from mine. Well done Neet! I loved some of the guesses!
This will be the 1,302th post that's been published here, the Blog is 7 years and 8 months old. Or should that be long. Not sure.
No matter what, I cannot, just cannot, run a mile. In under any number of minutes.
Last time I had to do it, it only took me 2 minutes to reload my ATG tape runner. This is a triumph.
It takes a good 10 minutes more for brown rice to cook to the same consistency as white rice. I always forget that, and I'm going back to white. Impatient. I'll get my roughage elsewhere!
These fun facts about time are brought to you in an attempt to use a small portion of time effectively. I suspect some will think it was a waste of time, but that's ok. It's all relative. Apparently. Whatever that means.
I enjoyed this post, being a number freak 😃

Great post - as soon as I saw Neet's comment, I knew she'd have the right answer as I knew Jan had moved pretty close... how great to have such a wonderful friend on the doorstep. Even if it is only for a few months.
ReplyDeleteAm more or less certain for the crop, I have the week preceding off work (subject to the boss approving it when she gets back from her holiday on Monday!) and I'm always up for an early start on a Saturday. (not that I've checked the trains yet - and it will take me almost as long to get to Cindy as to you, so think will head that way)
Hi Julia,
ReplyDeleteI really did enjoy this post. So jealous that you can get to Jan's place in less than four minutes! How wonderful for both of you.
The tea photo looked so yummy. What exactly is cream tea? Whatever it is I'm sure I'd enjoy a cup or two.
Interesting about the brown rice taking longer to cook; maybe it's not as processed as the white?
Anyway, came over to visit some desks. If I manage to MANAGE my time better I may be joining back in.
I hope you are doing well.
Hugs,
Kay
Great post! Proves that you can create a statistic for just about anything and find a statistic for everything else. And how nice to live just over 3 minutes away from Jan :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteOoh jan is close....still reckon my guess was secretly correct!! Well done on the atc change I have to YouTube it before I try (though struggling to get replacement take at the moment).
ReplyDeleteLoved this update.

Hi Julia, If you add up all the things you do in one day, do you find there's a big chunk you can't account for? That often happens to me, so I reckon I am being abducted by the little green men. On the other hand it could be that I have fallen asleep in the chair:) LOL
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fab Friday. Sue
How fabulous that Jan is less than 4 mins away.
ReplyDeleteThat cream tea looks so yummy.

I've just read and had a good chuckle at your post. It's been a week on numbers and times for us too....2 weeks early at 38 weeks. Contractions coming every 8 mins....for days but no progress for our poorly little mum. 12 miles in a blue flashing ambulance. BP....far too high. Temp....far too high. Baby's heart rate....worrying high. Numbers all controlled so 12 miles back home Tues only to have a reaction to the antibiotics and to be rushed back along those 12 miles in the night! Wednesday spent building up strength for induction on Thursday only to surprise us all by waters going, labour progressing very quickly....more numbers how often, how long, how dilated!!! Finally a rapid delivery of the most beautiful little man into the world of numbers 😄😄😄😄😄
ReplyDeleteHehe sorry....I pressed to publish before I finished. As you can see it's been a bit of a week but having given little Theo a big cuddle last night and checked in on the two luckiest new parents in the world I was able to sleep a good 8 hours last night...the first proper sleep since Sunday! Sorry I missed joining in on Wednesday but I'm guessing you can see why now 😄😄😄😄😄
ReplyDeleteAlls well that ends well as they say.
So thrilled Jan is so close for now....lots of fun times ahead for us all eh?
Hugs,
Annie x
Interesting post! I am going to have to sit down and ponder this number thing a bit. Hmmmm...

ReplyDeletejust got out of the 'prison' and home again after a few days. Will have to blog it. Whoo Hoo! I guessed right. Hope that round of applause was a good resounding one.
ReplyDeleteEnvious of you being so close? Course I am. But then it is only that if I had 3 minutes 40 seconds or so to get to see you and Jan it would be lovely.
I am so glad you two good/great friends can get together so quickly. Enjoy whilst you can!!!
Love, Neet xxx

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading about all the "small" things in your life. Life's too short to worry about the big things!
