What's On Your Workdesk? 339

Hello Deskers, and Hello December! If you think that the months have flown by this year, I agree. I blame a lot of you actually. If you weren't so intent on joining me for this nonsense, we may not notice the weeks flashing by and coming to the year end with unnecessary speed. Of course, if you're under 30 or yet to have any children, this wont apply to you. So as we start the countdown, what's making your desk look good?
Mine has the air of organisation about it. Don't be fooled. There's the (LLJ) tote for crop on the left. Waiting to be unpacked since Saturday afternoon. Oh and there's my phone charger..must pull that out! The backgrounds were going to be for a workshop next year, but I've since had a better idea for them. The blue basket is holding all my used cut'n'dry foam pieces. They outgrew the lovely tin and quite possibly my patience in the tin. This big 'chuck 'em in' style is more me, donchafink. Then there's an 8x8 LO featuring Miss Dunnit's current squeeze. It's of course, waiting for filing. The most impressive part of my desk is on the far right, against my glasses. That, Ladies and Jellyspoons is a pile of written and addressed Christmas cards. Mr Dunnit hasn't had much need of me at work recently....and I'm glad I've got slightly ahead now, because its full on again now! Two days of doing nothing but morticing. If you know what that is, you'll know why my right arm and my rib area muscles feel dead, but painfully alive!
Distract me from the torment then, and show off your desk please. Put WOYWW in your post title and link here. We're friendly. And some manage to follow the basic courtesy of keeping it brief. Ahem, sorry!

  4. Gosh, you are way ahead! I haven't written mine yet. I'm working on the Christmas letters in 3 different languages for friends and family in Holland, Italy and the UK. Italy is ready, and Holland is going to be done today (I hope)...
Have a great Wednesday and a quiet week,

  6. Now you're just showing of Julia, Cards written and in envelopes, that's too much!!!! Well done you. I like your large basket for cut and dry....I might have to "borrow" that idea, my box is so full that I can a) never find the colour I want and b) say lots of naughty words when they spill out all over the floor!!!
Hope your aches and pains ease up.

Have a great week with the morticing.

  9. Now I thought I was doing well having come up with a Xmas card idea .... and you have already written, signed and sealed and waiting to deliver. Far too organised, thank goodness you haven't unpacked the bag from the crop.

  14. Well done getting your cards written - I'm labouring under the illusion that I have plenty of time yet - panic will set in shortly I'm sure! I have just noticed your Christmas china in your last post - I LOVE it!
I don't know what morticing is but I hope you don't have to do too much more if that's the effect of it!
Hope you have a good week,

  16. HI Julia, my my WHAT an organised desk you have!! I haven't even started on my cards yet but there's still time .... Love the layout, looks really fun, I haven't tried 8x8. Good luck with the morticing - is that the stuff that goes between paving slabs, or is it some kind of wood joint ... it has the word "icing" in it - is it anything to do with cake?! :o) Annie C #29

  17. The background papers and the blue basket match and they're blue, so that's what grabbed my eyes. I can never resist blue! All of my Christmas cards went in the mail on Friday. My niece in California got hers on Monday, but people 20km away have not received theirs yet. Crazy.'Tis the season....

  18. Morticing...I'll admit I had to google that. 'Cutting holes in pieces of lumber' was what I learnt. Sounds exhausting! Well done you for finishing the Christmas card task...I'm still trying to choose which ones to send to who! Happy crafting :-) Max #31

  19. You can tell I'm not much of a stamper (although I like using stamps) because I had to look up cut-n-dry foam. Now I'm trying to decide whether I need it or not! Happy Wednesday, Julia!

  20. Having those cards finished is a great plus....just got my labels all updated. The young people move around too much !! Love those backgrounds, pretty colors. And I love the LLJ tote. Darkness it's all around too early here too. It's now a soft fluffy snow, but to get into the 40's this week will be a huge plus as I need to go to the city and finalize my shopping. Have a wonderful WOYWW day.

  24. Hi Julia, your desk is looking strangely organised this week and that pile of Christmas cards ready for posting/delivering - I'm at one and the same time impressed and depressed ... I haven't even begun on cards for Christmas, I'm still on birthdays!!! I've only every made a couple of 8x8 layouts and find 12x12 easier to do but that's all about to change as I intend recording this Christmas in a 6x8 album ... time to break out of my comfort zone! Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #41

  25. I'm so glad you got some time to enjoy some card-making therapy! I have some cards to make, and I can do it, but it doesn't come nearly as easily to me--I'm still struggling with a concept, and really, I should just start stitching and gluing! It's been a wonderful year of desking...and I'm glad this is one party that doesn't end! (at least, so far) Thanks to you. Hugs! Sandy Leigh

  27. Two apologies, one for not commenting earlier and the second because I haven't visited any desks.
We were burgled last night along with four other neighbours. Then one neighbour and friend had a stroke so it's bedlam on our little normally untroubled lane.
Have a good week Julia x
