What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 338

Well, thank you for asking. There are four baskets. These contain the 'ingredients' for the workshop on Thursday; the inks, stamps, emboss folders - the shared items, you get it. And just - just in the picture at right are the raw materials - cards and envelopes and any other card stock needed to make the four cards. So if it weren't for the teetering looking baskets, you could be fooled into thinking I'm really on it!

You can see too that I've made a quick page as a December calendar - am actually starting to need such a thing in my line of vision. I guess as December starts next week, that shouldn't be a surprise; but somehow it is. The green basket at back right is no longer a muddle of stamps waiting to be put away. I sorted them out. They are just Christmas stamps waiting to be put away. I've even put the acrylic blocks away. No idea why..it was the mood I was in!
So please, show and tell about your workspace this week, as 'the big season' approaches, we need your support and ideas more than ever! Put WOYWW in your post title and link here. Thanks. See you later.

  10. I'm through organizing my space, but I'd come and play in yours any day. I might even learn to stamp properly, although I feel I'm getting better. You and Sally have a knack for stacking baskets and such that look like they will topple if you look at them cross eyed. When I get near something like that, I often topple them by accident. So I suspect you wouldn't want me near that pile. I have to admit, your desk looks surprisingly clean (except for the baskets). It must have been that mood you got into.

I'll be glad when November is over and I can breathe again. This art every day is getting a bit steep. Have a great week, dear Julia. I'm thinking about you a LOT at this time of Thanksgiving in my country.

  12. All I can think of with those baskets is how good some fries (chips?) would taste! The diner I was at last week had themes lovely patterned paper inter baskets, just like those. Hold the grease!

  16. Hi Julia, now I'm scared listening to all our friends who have so many cards made. I hope they have ideas on their blog because I have gone brain dead this week, too much going on but maybe just need to simplify my designs if I am to get enough made. Did go to Hels workshop though on Saturday and it was brilliant. Off now to have a look around. Happy woyww, Angela 22

  17. Yikes! too busy to get organized for today. I won't take part unless I know I can visit at least my visitors! Poo. also, dead camera batteries, need to sort that out pretty quick. But I did want to pop in and read your post - I can see you in a tidy mood. Ha! Well, someone has to be, and raise the bar for the week.

    See you Sunday

  18. Ha ha, yes, the baskets are about to go, any moment now! That would be nothing unusual here :) There's no sign of Christmas activities here ... yet.

  19. Allistair would LOVE your desk this week. he would have found a way to get into one of the baskets, probably the top one then made a mess. I hope your workshop goes well this week.

  20. A calendar certainly helps put things into perspective! I seldom use one, so I tend to be permanently disorientated. I can't believe it's December next week - I had to check! Sheesh, where did the time go? Happy WOYWW, Julia!

  21. Don't collapse with shock to see me here again so soon. It is good to see someone so organised with Christmas. Despite having the majority of my cards done months ago, I still have a load of making to do. Have a good week. xxx Maggie #18

  22. You've got baskets teetering, Julia, I've got piles! It's just the nature of the crafting beast ... where else do we put our stuff when we are mid craftiness :) Baskets are not a good idea when you have a cat about ... Bonnie would be snuggled up in one given half a chance. Although I use a virtual calendar to keep me right we still have a real one hanging in the kitchen to be doubly sure we don't forget a thing. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #31

  23. Hey Lovely! Desk is looking organised. Those little baskets are a must aren't they? I use mine all the time. I do love how you create your layouts. I just cheat and buy a planner!! Take care Zo xx

  24. Your desk looks way tidier than mine. I have baskets that I planned to use for projects - collecting the bits together and storing neatly so I knew where everything was whilst doing the project. Never happens though - usually end up full of things that need to be put away but don't quite get round to.

Cor, you are turning into Miss Tidy - good for you - now I need to use that leaf from your book soon.

  32. Can't believe December is so close. I wouldn't dare to have such a pile on my desk, but I do admit, that when I clear up, I also pack the acrylic blocks, pencils, scissors, rulers and such away... knowing I'll need them the moment I start oing something. Ran into a funny quote: " clear up a corner of your mind, and it will be filled with creativity" I think that's true for desks too! Happy woyww :)
