What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 332

You can read all about it HERE. And then you can join in, if you need instructions, they are HEREIf you want details of the WOYWW Crop2, look HERE. Gosh, that's a lot of here. And whoosh....there's another one: here's my desk:
I had some minutes yesterday, and some palpitations. In that order. I'd had to have a look at the calendar to work some date or other out and it occurred to me that I need to put some photos and papers together if I'm going to achieve anything at our retreat in a couple of weeks. So this was an attempt at that 'take five minutes here and there thing', which was abandoned when it started to get messy. In this morning's blue light I think it all looks most unexciting. The bat paper (not holly, so many of you made me smile with that) remains, untouched. The basket is piled with acrylic blocks and stamps that I intend to use, sometime. Sorry about the apple core, it's part of my slovenliness.
So you just have to be doing more interesting, better lit and more inspiring things at your desk today. You just have to be. So show and tell please! Put WOYWW in your desk post title and link it here - please and er, thank you!

  1. I love your blue light district today....gives a big of demure to the crafting. Maybe you can use the apple core to dye some cardstock, who knows what you intend to do with it unbeknown to us LOLOLLOLOL

  3. What is the yummy looking drink in the pictures? I'm sure it will make for an interesting page! And the papers look yummy as well. Happy, WOYWW, Julia!

  4. I knew if I took the empty mug back to the kitchen the link would go up... Love the flash of sunlight across your desk, it's better than pitch dark which it still is outside... my desk is not better lit, so much I have 2 versions of the same picture for you to choose between! Helen

  5. Always lovely to see what you are working on and it looks like drinks and beach walks may have been the focus of some of those photos. What a lovely combination.

  10. My slovenliness is half a dozen apple cores in the floor well of my car. I hate to think how long some of them have been there. Disgusting.
    Have a good week Julia

  11. Well, I was a bit worried when the first thing you mentioned was palpitations. But I guess they were just "Stressful Crafting Induced Palpitations"? (SCIP syndrome - you heard it here first!)

Could you please delete my link #14? Tried linking (once again) via smart phone. And (once again) was unsuccessful. I'll just have to stick to the long way - ie. use laptop :) but the phone is so good for most everything else :)

  14. Did you actually make a photobook instead of scrapping the pictures? Gasp!!! Used to finish (almost) a scrapbook a year. Now I made ONE photobook! Alas!!! Happy WOYWW! patsy

  17. Great to see your snack is the healthy variety and not biscuits or Cheddars which are the nibbles I go for. I too saw the evidence of more food in the pics - talking of which I wont need to clear the table for lunch - I am off out if would appear 8-) Jackie x

  21. Hi Julia, nice desk today. I never have trouble with apple cores because I have a Maisie (small black and silver, very demanding, apple loving, Schnouzer) and the rest is history Lol!

  23. The blue cast made me laugh as mine always comes out yellowish in the wee hours! Photos of drinks food and sandy beaches.... looking forward to seeing what you do with them!

  24. Definitely a busy desk you are sporting this morning! Looks like great photos of a wonderful holiday just ready to be used! The apple core reminds me of my desk. There is always an apple or grapes or even a banana sitting on my desk.

  25. Hi Julia, hope you do find a few extra '5 minutes' to collect your projects for the retreat...it's always scary the amount of stuff we take when not organised, even when was is!!!. Enjoy your week...your desk looks calm in that blue light. Cheers RobynO#25

  27. Happy WOYWW. Feels great to be typing that again. I was worried that I would have forgotten how to do the linking bit - but you know what, it is like riding a bike. Nice to see a desk with actual signs of crafting - even if you are just piling up pretty papers. My desk has ring binders, business books, Tarot cards and a very tall in tray. Tempted to throw all of that into a box and get some glitter/glue out! I will go back and read through some earlier WOYWW posts later, to see what news I have missed out on. Ali x #33

  28. I think I'm feeling a bit like you Julia! But where you have the apple core I have just finished a packet of jelly babies.

It sounds as if your get together is going to be fun. I wish I was able to come. Have a lovely day. Barbxx

  29. Your desk looks very industrious Julia, and you shouldn't worry about the apple core - mine would be chocolate wrappers and cake crumbs!! It is a great feeling when you have got a kit together all ready to go, but I am not so great about putting the leftovers away again :o) Happy WOYWW Annie C #35

  30. Nothing wrong with five minutes here and there. Go you! It's just another way to get things accomplished. I am sleepy right now, so I find a blue light desk calm and inviting at this moment! Have a good week. Sandy Leigh

  31. Glad to know I missed the bat paper earlier. yuck, I make myself have visions of shades of green only for sanity sake. Your food and drink look great this early AM here, I just finished frying bacon. We are having a BIG breakfast and DH is off to the field for the day. YAhoo ! Time to complete the full day task array. First I noticed your yard looks a little in the fall stages? We are still mowing here. Unseasonably warm and sunny. I even watered my flowers.
Have a great WOYWW and thanks for hosting.

  32. My 5 minutes here and there haven't accomplished anything to show, just a gathering of supplies, but that's OK. Enjoy your retreat.

  33. Hello Julia,

Those drinks look very inviting in the photos! I noticed the "holly" paper in the background. I can see bats. Hope that doesn't say anything about my state of mind!

    Hugs,
    Kay

  34. I think the blue light casts an interesting light on things to come. You'l be ready for the retreat when you need to be. Remember to breathe. What types of things do you want to work on at the retreat? Creative Blessings! Kelly #43ish

  36. You always look so industrious. My desk on the other hand is sitting bare. I've been wrapped up into many family things and haven't been visiting my desk often enough. Therefore no post again this week. Maybe you'll stir up some inspiration in me and I'll go create something. Happy Wednesday. Peg R.

  37. LOL @ the apple core! I'm always careful not to leave any discriminating evidence in the photos, though apple cores are rather innocent. That bat paper can indeed be easily taken for holly! Happy WOYWW Julia!

  38. Love your fifty shades of blue colour palette this week! The photos look interesting too...glasses of something very tasty-looking! Happy crafting, Max #47

  39. LOL! Hope you get done all you need for your retreat. As to the apple, at least it's a healthy snack. Thanks for stopping by!

  40. I ah caved and pre ordered some ali edwards december daily things and they arrived in the mail the other day and ha I had some moments when I opened the box. ( I feel like I never actually finished last Decembers first attempt) and this things I ordered the album I liked was sold out so I just got some bits and pieces, and I looked at them and closed the box. so, I totally get that not wanting to make yourself scrap kits.
I am hoping I will find some album that makes me want to start putting the pages together and maybe a plan for the shots to take this time around. in the mean time I am making ornaments instead.
    avoidance is reality here. :)

  41. Thanks for your comment just now Julia... my desk looks a little bit messier at the moment but not very much - I do am a neat person, ha! But I am satisfied about the page I made and the one that is almost finished - it was indeed a productive day at the atelier. Now I'm looking forward to spend the evening in pj's on the couch watching crime series... hope your evening is wonderful too. Happy woyww and see you next week. Marit #29

  42. Thanks for your visit earlier, as you saw my desk is very simple today - makes a change? Certainly does, the reason being that I tidied one handed for a while!!! Nearest I could get to crafting!

  45. Sorry, Julia, late again, but I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't at least make the attempt to join in, albeit a day late! Love your blue light. So much prettier than the orange light I've managed to capture on my late night pic. Of course, I had to have a good squint at you photos - memories of sun, sea and cocktails :) Good luck with putting the kits together for the retreat. Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth #56

  46. Thanks for your visit, Julia. Glad you like the alternative view of my desk. I had quite a tidy up the other day so it hasn't had too much chance to get messy again yet. Lol re your comment - card makers are definitely not inferior, just different hahaha!!! It's just that when you tell people the sort of thing you do, they always seem to ask if you make cards, as if there is nothing else. I don't know why this should be! I'm actually really enjoying my card factory and trying out some new techniques.

Lol again at your green smoothie comment! Actually they can be delicious! Just close your eyes and enjoy! Gotta get those greens into me somehow... I am not pushing myself regarding feeling better post-chemo. I'm a past master at listening to my body. It's right at the end of a cycle today, when I am usually at my best, and after my visit to the hospital this morning for bloods and my appointment with the oncologist, I'm wiped out and slept most of the afternoon! It will be nice to know that ultimately the only way is "up" and I shall be fine eventually.
