What's on your work desk? Wednesday 320

If you're of a mind to join us for this strangely compelling Wednesday activity, there are instructions on how to link and a few rules  on the linked pages shown at the top of this post. Don't be scared, it's easy!
My desk is a shambles of unpacked workshop baskets from almost a week ago, and unpacked and unfinished stuff after a crop at the weekend? Good grief. I need to exercise the magic of making time to sort it out, it puts me off and it's my desk!

You can see that along with the WOYWW6 ATCs, I still haven't used or put away the handful of postcards I bought when we were in Granada last year. I can't. I like them all too much. There's evidence of shopping too, two stamps from Indigo Blue and some teeny emoticon type facial expressions. I'm not sure why I like them, we'll soon see if it was a ridiculous indulgence! I've had a desperate plea from a reader for help in finding the Stampendous Ranunculus clear stamp set...discontinued last year...does anyone have one they'd be prepared to sell? Let me know, I'll put you in touch! Now, link your WOYWW post here so we can visit, see what you're up to and what you're currently investing in!

  8. Happy Wednesday Julia, life can get in the way of our crafts at times, especially with sunshine and lovely days where you're drawn outdoors...look like a nice place to sit outside your window. You've had a busy time away from your desk too. Enjoy your week Cheers RobynO#9

  9. Not surprising you haven't cleared away the stuff from workshops/crop as you have been rather busy, what with your visit to Miss D. You'll get it sorted.
    Have a super week.

  11. I'm really loving something I spy on your desk today....sunshine :-) At 5am today it was pouring down here this morning [yes I was lay awake with a head full of thoughts!!]. Thankfully it's stopped now as our builders are supposed to be coming to dig footings out today.....a swimming pool maybe? :-)

  15. Good luck with the tidying - a job I hate. Maxine came round and put all my bobbins in colour odrer yesterday - said she couldn't work on my desk unless they were sorted!! Good on her I say. x Jo

  16. Looks like a hive of activity to me! I'm dreadful for not unpacking after workshops, both those I train and those I attend! The bits and bobs on my work desk have to be packed away as it's a multi-use space so I'm envious of all the lovely things you have lying around to offer you inspiration! Happy crafting x

  17. I have a bag that I have my workshop stuff in and sometimes I find it's still there when I am going to the next one! Your desk may seem in need of sorting but I can beat that one today.

  18. I'm now making a rule that if things aren't beautiful, useful, valuable or sentimental... out they go, but I don't think anything will fall outside of those categories!!!
Big yellow mug of tea on the table outside there!

  19. I'm like you. If I like something it'll stay out until I get bored of looking at it LOL
Enjoy the rest of your week Julia and good luck with the tidying :) #30

  20. I recognize your baskets - I have them in pink and purple!
Or at least I used too. Don't know if I have them any more...

I've become hooked on doilies! I avoided them for the longest time because I didn't thnk I'd find a use for them. Now I can't imagine life without them!

    Have a lovely week!

  21. Not a stamp I have or even know about but I am sure it is gorgeous. Have a great week.

  22. It's nice to have things out on view that you like.

I'd look at those unpacked baskets, as more projects waiting to be done:)

Hope you have a lovely day. Sue

  23. It's always hard putting things away after a workshop isn't it? I've got into the habit of doing it as soon as I get back otherwise it's still there weeks later and I can't find anything. Also I tend to have OCD about making sure inks and things haven't got mixed up, sad I know!!!!

  24. Hi Julia, I'm always finding stuff on my desk that needs putting away. Often,. I find it many times as the weeks go by! Until I get fed up of moving it, then eventually, it gets put where it belongs. Weather looks lovely down your way. Huge hugs, Shaz xxx

  25. Yup. Desk tidying is the least fun thing to do. I always dread it, but it feels so good when it's done. Oh, I wish I could go to that tea shop --- it looks fabulous! Mmmmmm.....scones, buttercream, jam.....wonder if I can squeeze out time to make some scones.....my mouth is watering.
It is very difficult when our children leave home to start life on their own. The empty nest feels very large and lonely. It does get better, though. I promise. (smile) Happy WOYWW. Have a good week.

  26. Your desk is looking lovely and tidy but I just had to scoot down and visit the scones and cream that have been getting mentioned in the comments! Mmmm - yummy, and how lovely you were in Worthing - a place of many happy childhood holidays for me - I'm just off down memory lane, hope you have a great week,

  27. I had to exercise similar magic, to find the inclination, rather than the time, in my case! My last class was two weeks ago and the boxes remained unpacked until yesterday.

  28. Isn't it amazing how one minute you're putting some workshop things in a basket and then it's a year later! I just repurposed some big craft caddies, and now have one dedicated to gelli plate and painting and I'm very happy with that. The stamp I'm looking for is one that just turns a plain little note page into a lined page. Have you ever seen one like that? Have a wonderful week Julia! Sandy Leigh

  29. Aw c'mon now you can soon shove that aside! Love Indigo Blue stamps, emoticons sound interesting too (too small for my eyes to see). Have a good week! Chrisx 40

  30. Sorting out after workshops is just such a dull task. But have to say your desk still looks good.

  31. Thanks for visiting my desk already, I am taking a short break from admin to nosy round some desks. I am attending a scrapbook convention this coming week-end, flying to Johannesburg on Friday which is my usual allocated admin day, hence having to squeeze admin in between classes. YUCK! I get you on the unpacking thing after a workshop...I sometimes delay the unpack as I then have to put it away...

  32. Even if they've sat there for almost a week, they are different stuff from what sat on your desk last week... and I'm guessing that taking the photo has perhaps already made you put the stuff away, the photo has a tendency to do that for me at least :) Happy woyww!

  33. so, your done cleaning now since this was shot so you can play again right? ( that seems to be the cycle I have anyways.) play play play then my brain clicks the piles are too big to play gotta clean again. *sigh* it's a vicious cycle but, what can you do? ( if I was a person who threw things away I would have less cleaning to do) :) ~Stacy #48

  34. I googled that stamp to see what it looked like. It comes up for sale at several different vendors.... Amazon and Joann's are two recognizable US ones. I'm not sure what country the person is in who wants it. If not US, perhaps a US person could buy it and ship it on.

Anyway, about your desk, I've seen it in much worse shambles so I get the giggles that this bothers you, but I know how it is. Sometimes it is what the mess is made up of and not the size of it that is bothersome.

  35. Your crafting desk suffers from the same syndrome as my work desk at my actual workplace: it's like an archaelogical dig, with the newest stuff on top and oldest on the bottom. Periodically I have to excavate -- lol.

As for the stamp, if the inquiring party is in the States, Amazon has it. If in the UK, this website appears to have it: http://www.thestampman.co.uk/stampendous-crr112-cling-rubber-stamp---ranunculus-field-1305-p.asp (Don't know anything about the site) It does appear to be a cling stamp rather than clear, though . . .

  36. OK, so your search was a good reason for me to ummm, look for another stamp set I was interested in; Ebay has quite a few; but they say cling, not clear mounted, so I'm not sure it ifs the same. But yay..just found Stampin' Up's by the tide...LOL!
I thought your desk looked very tidy..at least everything is in it's own separate space, as it were. Have a great week.

  37. I hope you post it when you figure out how to make that magic;) Could use some of it, too... Have a wonderful week,

  38. It's better to keep things where you can see them - otherwise if you tidy them all away you will forget to use them - well that's my excuse anyhow!

  39. Your desk is way more exciting than mine this week! Much more colorful, too. The person in search of the stamp might connect with the 'hunting for' thread on Splitcoast Stampers. If she isn't on Splitcoast ask her to email me and I'll see what I can find. Creative Blessings! Kelly #57

  41. I'm pretty rubbish at packing away after a crop or workshop too. I think I'm too easily distracted and as long as I have a little space left to work on, I'd much rather be playing than tidying! LOL! Liz #49 xx

  42. What a lovely view you have fro your window.
Cannot see the emoticons but I do like using them on my phone - my fave thing at the moment is the minions. Not 'cos of the cinema craze at the moment but my friend in America was daft about them when we were over at Christmas - personally I love Gru.
    Hugs, Neet xx 8
ps yes Julia, I have been very upset about Eliza and just wish there was something `i could do to help Myrene. I keep having my little bouts now and then but am sure in time it will pass. Thanks Julia for mentioning. xx

  43. Lovely as always to see the garden through your windows, Julia. I know the feeling of not putting things away lol!! Thanks for your lovely comment, and that was exactly what I thought - at least Kermit misbehaved at home!! I've heard horror stories of eruptions during business meetings and emergency phone calls from the loo, calling hubby to come immediately with change of clothing lol!! As for deadlines, they won't go away when people have events that need celebrating! I'll get there in the end, I am sure. I'm making progress with ideas even if I haven't achieved anything today. I've got tomorrow p.m. after my pre-chemo hospital appointments in the morning, then chemo starting lunch time Fri.

    Happy WOYWW!

  45. Your desk looks pretty good this week, Julia. Maybe it got cleaner by tonight. I must confess, I forgot it was Wednesday. So at nine P.M. I posted my Blog! LOL
And that is what baskets are for, to put things in. Don't need to empty them!

  46. Hi Julia. I hear you about the unpacking. That's exactly what I should be doing. Had a weekend away and did some Dyan Reaveley classes at LSS. I had a great time but now it all needs to be put away.

  47. I so much prefer creating to cleaning up or unpacking! I hope you or your reader finds the desired stamp. Since you posted here you probably have oodles of people looking! Anyway, your desk looks fairly tidy and waiting for you! Happy (day late) WOYWW!
