What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 311

OK people, get your Act into gear and line up your Mojo. If you're planning to take part in next week's WOYWW ATC swap to mark the anniversary, you need to be ready to post your ATC on the day! There's all sorts of info to be found on separate pages at the top of this blog. Specifically, HERE.
OK, I can't put it off any longer. My desk is a man woman and child made disaster and smacks of neglect. Couldn't really be worse! Whilst I was at the WOYWW crop, is was a little untidy. I took this photo on Tuesday tea time so that I could brag this morning about how tidy it is. hmm, not so gentle Desker. I did not get back to it.
I unpacked after the WOYWW crop..which explains the upright envelopes at the back. Peeking out under them is an SU! stamp set I bought from Fiona at the Crop. No time yet to play. That was supposed to be last night, but I was too preoccupied with other stuff. The scrapbook papers flat on the desk are covered in printed off bank stuff placed there by Mr Dunnit to aid my book work. Miss Dunnit dumped my box of patterned scraps on top for the want of anywhere else. There's a scrap of left over wrapping paper at the back, the list standing up at right is the first page of Shopkeeper Gal's new workshop schedule. The rest of the stuff is just that. Stuff. Stuff that needs putting away so that I can actually approach my desk without losing the will to live. Ergh.
Enough about me...show and tell your own desk stories please!
Put WOYWW in your post title and link her for some international desk viewing. Thank you!

  2. You make me laugh. Man, woman, and child disasters. And only YOU to clean it up. Hope this finds you still aglow in the aftermath of the crop and still "up" enough to clean up the mess on your desk!

  5. We had a great day, who cares about the mess? I was packing up boxes on Monday evening, unpacking them after class yesterday afternoon, then repacking last night for class this morning. Made me mighty glad I travelled light on Saturday!

  16. A messy desk is just a mass of craft which is always a good thing! :)

  17. I'm afraid you are going to have to use the push back method or at the very least the pile-it technique and clear off enough space to play! It doesn't have to be large, just a small area to add something else! Have a great rest of the week! Glenda #28

  18. Great messy desk this week! Truly doesn't look all that bad. Most of the stuff simply needs a home.

  19. I'm here ..... just about!!!
Coming down to earth now and so glad to see that 'normal life' is continuing!!
Your desk made me grateful for the fact that I can shut my door and no-one enters to put anything anywhere!
    Have a good week

  20. I wish I could blame someone for my mess!! Sadly it's only me - I don't know what Rita thought when she came to do my ironing! Even worse was the fact that a duty manager came in to do a health and safety check too, she gave me a bit of a withering look!!! Do I care - still enjoying memories of the weekend! Chrisx36

  21. Sounds - and looks - as if you have been far too busy for such mundane things as tidying your desk. It looks interesting and fun to me. And my own work areas are very untidy, so who am I to criticise - other than with encouragement!
I'll try to pop back and see if you post about the busy crop you went to.
Just for a change, I have been card-making at LizzieMade studio. Haven't done that for months, so it's been fun.

  22. LOL

You're not alone! Mine is a mess too....

  23. It doesn't really look that bad. Honestly, there's just a bit of stuff there, and stuff always gets sorted out ... eventually. Doesn't it?
Big congrats on the crop, it sounds like it was fabulous fun :)!

  24. I now have mess spread upstairs in the kitchen as well as in my craft space. I explained that in my post today. I need to tidy both areas, but I am just too busy right now! I guess many of us are partners in crime....er....craft mess!

  25. Love your desk and your description! I don't feel so bad for mine! lol have a great day!

  26. OH you make me feel so good. You only need a 4x4 spot to work on ATC's, been there done that. You no doubt will find one thing you've been looking for on there but you do have an excuse. My whole house looks messy after we come home from a long weekend. Bet Saturday was awesome.

  27. Hi Julia! Your husband is brave, mine won't go near my space. He is afraid of it! Happy WOYWW! # 50

  28. Better tie a rope to a tree trunk and then around your waist before you go wading into your space . . . lol. Or drop bread crumbs in case you need to find your own way back? A messy desk is a sign . . . of something, I'm sure. A sign of fun that was had, a busy life being lived, and trying to carve out time for creativity in the midst of it? I'm babbling a bit, so I'll stop now and just wish you a happy WOYWW. :)

  29. I believe there is a lot I have missed since last time I was here ;) There is so many articles out there about scrapbooking and mix media - so what to read? - Well I decided to buy something to my self and start something for myself?... Thank you ever so much for sharing
    Kind regards

  30. Lovely messy desk - shows that something's happening! Better than a clean tidy desk that never changes!

  31. The crop sounds like it was such a wonderful time! Totally worth a messy lose-the-will-to-live desk top. My problem is, after a big tidy up, I can't bring myself to mess it up right now--but nothing will be made if there's no mess. Oh well. Hugs! Sandy Leigh

  33. Chuckled at the 'man, woman and child made disaster', Julia. It's not one I've heard before but it's good :) I'm not a bit surprised that you've not been able to do much since the weekend - I've seen the photos and read the posts so I know what a great success it was, and it takes a lot preparation to have that much fun! Have a great week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #56

  37. Thank you for sharing your large mess with us and restoring our faith in humanity. Seeing tidy desks like mine (not used is why) is so depressing. I'm glad you could cheer us all up!!!!!

  38. That's not a mess, it is the sign of a busy crafter. Glad everything went tickety boo for you at weekend, You were on my mind and hopefully next year you will be on my left or right side because I am hoping to be there. It's just such a long way for me but I think we might have a holiday in your neck of the woods (if you get my drift).
    Hugs, Neet xx

  47. Morning from Australia Julia...have to finish off my desk visits today with the birthday thing happening last night. Anyway from all accounts it was one successful, fun, creative, friendly etc etc time at the Crop...the photos I've seen tell me with all the smiling faces. Hope you managed to get to your desk for a tidy up and then some crafting - never mind the weekend is looming fast so you'll be at it by then. Have a wonderful week, cheers RobynO#16 and thanks for visiting my desk.
