Look, I've even got the stable door open. And not just to avoid showing you how the sun shows up my very poor winter window cleaning routine. This was taken last evening, about 5pm when I finally sat down at my desk for my afternoon off. Ah well, some time is better than no time isn't it! I added some journaling to a couple of layouts that I made at the weekend and that's the mess you see. The big box is the holder for photos and paper that go to crop. Ipso facto, it's where I store the finished ones till I get home. The curly bits are tape peelings, even the piece wrapped around my ATG gun....that needs refilling but I didn't want to take up valuable time doing that when I had real sticking to do! The box at the near end is meant to be metal embellishments - clips and what-have-yous..you can tell from a glance that I tidy up in a hurry at the end of a crop!
Share what you're doing on your desk today will ya? Entertaining and informative - it really is.
Don't forget that we're counting down to an Anniversary ATC swap, and a get-together Crop.
I love that you opened that stable door for me. Yikes you've been busy sticking and who tidies up anyway.

Nice. Love the sunshine thru the window, dirty or clean! Just to mention, I did make a set of ATC backs for the 6th anniversary, for download and printing, and shared them today. Grab 'em if you don't fancy making your own. Happy WOYWW.

I am delighted to be in the single digits gang today :) I should not still be up..Love that you can have the stable door here, all we are having in NYC is rain, rain, rain! Gah, I hate refilling my ATG and I had to do it last night - ugh. My craft bag from the retreat last month is still semi-unpacked..so you are doing way better than me Cx #6
ReplyDeleteThe stable door - how funny!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how much stuff comes out for a crop?
Have an inspired week!
Create With Joy - #4?
Evening sunshine is great at this time of year isn't it? Well done with going to crop at the weekend I miss that ............
ReplyDeleteMaybe next month
Janet
Morning! How lovely the sunshine has been for the last few days, it was wonderful at Kew last Saturday. Shame I miss most of the nice weather at work.. I don't look at dirty windows (you'd know that if you popped in here!) it's just lovely to see the stable door open. Really looking forward to the crop now!
ReplyDeleteLove that you can open up and let the sunshine in. We've got your English weather here with an antarctic blast. The suns out but it's freezing. Can you send us some of your heat please. My art box is like your crop box, just shove it all in and eventually clear it up as you need things :) Lots of curly bits must mean lots of busy sticking work, hope you get more time to play this week.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week,
Von #9
Well, you had a good day yesterday! Have you got through that teeny pack of coffee yet? ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe must do it again soon!
Hugs, LLJ 13 xx
I was that busy thinkng about what you said in your Sunday post that I messed up my link name haha.
ReplyDeleteWe shouldn't feel bad about crafting when there are unfinished jobs to do around the house and I wish I could discipline myself enough to say right this my time the rest can wait. Need to work on that one, along with stopping frowning as I'm getting a crease between my eyebrows.
Have a good week Julia.
Ps have a look who I had at my house recently

Oops I'm at 16 not 19
DeleteI'm loving the weather too and love the fact you have a stable door....can just imagine the animals hanging their heads over it ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've made lots of ATCs so if you can let me have the names of the ones coming to the crop I will name up the envelopes so they can just help themselves to them on the day....will also put a large stamped addressed elvelope for any that would like to send me one in return to save you the hassle. Thanks Julia x
Hugs,
Annie x
Ah, sunshine. We've had a nice big dose of that medicine this past week. Really should be starting some ATCs to bring to the crop, but I can't seem to leave the sewing alone just now.
ReplyDeleteSo you guys got our sunshine...I wondered where it went. Great pic of much going on. Love the open door.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, you do have a lovely window desk and oh so nice to have it open with the wonderful late afternoon spring sunlight and air. Those curly sticky peelings are the bane of my life as I don't have a nifty ATG gun.Have a wonderful week Cheers RobynO#24
ReplyDeleteHow lovely to see sunshine on your busy desk and see the doors open. Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteToni xx
Oh that does look good - it was sunny here till a few moments ago and now it has come over very dark! ooer!
ReplyDeleteI think I tidy the same way as you!

What a glorious time your desk has had - just sitting in the sunshine is medicine in itself!
ReplyDeleteMy desk has had a real good time as well - no sunshine though as the window faces the nosey side of town!!
Have a good week

It must be so nice to look out into the garden when you're crafting and the light should be really good too. Must get going with the ATCs. Have a nice WOYWW, Angela x 30
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful light coming in. Busy, busy desk this week! No glimpses of your ATC's? Was hoping for just a peek!
ReplyDeleteI always love to come visit and see what you have going on. I find it interesting that you work like a dog in the family business and still have time to craft. I'd be so tired there would be no crafting going on in my world!
ReplyDeleteGlenda #33
Sunshine on a desk is always good! My, You are busy though - hope you get time outside too! Chrisx 34
ReplyDeleteYou captured the sunlight beautifully in your picture. We've had a marvelous Spring in my part of the world too, and can't wait to jump in the pool this weekend now that its been set up. Blessings! #35
ReplyDeleteThe curly pieces from the tape make your desk look like a party took place, and then there's sunlight - how happy can it get?!! LOVE that Spring is here... ope the week brings more sunshine. Enjoy it Julia! Happy woyww, Marit #38
ReplyDeleteWonderful to have open windows and doors and sunshine too! Great things happening on your desk, Julia! It is a bit of a chore to refill the ATG dispenser, eh? I have been having issues with the cheap tape that I bought for mine, but I have a whole box, so I'll keep cussing at it until it's gone. Learned my lesson there! Have a great week and thanks for hosting, as always! Nann4 #33
ReplyDeleteI do love your desk with the stable door. Perfect in this weather. Lots of intriguing bits and bobs on view. Enjoy your day. Take care Zo xx 44
ReplyDeleteGreat looking desk, so much to see, glad that you enjoyed your crafternoon(sorry, couldn't resist!) and had lovely sunshine too :)
ReplyDeleteHave a good week,

I was amused the other week when VLVS launched new stamp sheets, one with a dictionary quote on "procraftinator" = someone who prioritizes craft to chores (but with a much better text than this reference... Another must have, my chores just wait their turn!
ReplyDeleteKristiina #10
Spring and sunshine and warmth and time to play at your desk . . . what a happy post indeed. I love how the tape peelings are tossed about -- definitely gives the feeling of exuberant crafting. Don't have a heart attack if you see my desk, bereft of aftermath or works in progress. But I did make things at the weekend. :) Happies of WOYWWs to you, Julia!
ReplyDeleteJulia Iwont look at the windows, I just spend half an hour cleaning the conservatory only to have that rain that dirties everywhere.
ReplyDeleteNice to see the window open, makes you feel happy just seeing the sun.

Bet your window cleaning is better than mine! We can't even get a window cleaner to do ours-the windows are in not very accessible places compared to the kitchen roof at the back, and he'd need a cherry picker, lol. Finally back to leave a comment, I linked when I woke up at 6.30, went back to bed, then been waiting for a Virgin engineer all morning, who was bound to turn up if I came upstairs and started visiting! Have a great week Julia, Huge Hugs, Shaz xx
ReplyDeleteYour desk looks delightfully messy and loved! I hate re-filling those glue guns - I always have to watch the YouTube video first - every time! LOL! Lindart #51 (hopefully won't change on me!)
ReplyDeleteyou look busy :) I love how your windows open and I had to laugh about refilling the glue gun because, when I run out that stops everything in its tracks so, I refill it right then and there. ~Stacy #53

ReplyDeleteI love the paper curls everywhere :) It shows that you have been hard at work. The tape runner bottoms up like that I first thought was a game controller LOL. I was..."what on earth is she playing games for when she could be crafting!" Good to know I was mistaken :P Shel@PaperOctilloStudio #54
ReplyDeletea busy desk...the big box looks fun, I've 4 of them I'm working with sorting moms family photos. Time consuming but fun. Can't wait to be outdoors again. So cold and dreary here for over a week. Enjoy that window. Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteWe just had volunteers come to our apartment building to help us with big chores and I had them take out and clean my windows. Now with the curtains all laundered and ironed - it looks so nice! I didn't have anything interesting on my workdesk to share today so shared photos of my beutiful grand daughter's 3rd birthday. They live far away from me so I don't get to see them and so I love getting photos. Wishing you a happy day!
Hugs,
Barbara Diane
Lovely to see a desk with sunlight on it :) 57#
ReplyDeleteI love that you are right next to the window (sunlight!) and that you can open it up and enjoy the world. Great shot of your desk in progress. Don't fret about me being unladylike; we all are! Judy #58
ReplyDeleteGreat looking desk with all that sunshine pouring over it. I am not the best housekeeper and need to get busy cleaning some of my windows so the sun can find its way in my house. I always say anytime is a good time escape to my room! Have a great week. Vickie #61
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely busy desk! Love the sunshine streaming in! Great place to create indeed.
ReplyDeleteHi Julia well finally have lobbed in from downunder to say hi again, things are quite full n here for various reasons...
ReplyDeleteBut so tis also busy at your end too.. love you desk, it is so welcoming... when I think of stable doors I always think of Mr Ed(do you know who he was??), not crafty ones.. so cool to be able to use it eh??
I dont go to crops cos none here but not sure I could manage to get organised to craft away either :D.

hi there, I@m very very late to the party (although my blog post was there on time!) but couldn't resist a quick potter about whilst I have some time on this lovely sunshiney morning. Your desk is like the Marie Celeste Julia, as if someone just disappeared mid-crafting :o) Have a fab weekend x Annie C #65
ReplyDeleteThe sun shining in is so cheerful! And your desk is wonderfully busy. Still visiting and enjoying desks. Hope you have a fantastic weekend!
