What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 305

There's a WOYWW Anniversary ATC swap coming up. I've written about it HERE.
There's an WOYWW meet coming up. I've written about it HERE.
There's a dearth of things happening on my desk.
The Prima dolly is attached to a card blank covered in strips of scrap paper. When I like something, I make two and this is the second. So now it'll be an age before I put it away, no doubt. You can clearly see my birthday tag book reminding me of card requirements for this lovely Springy month. The little fimo dragon is yet to be mended. The mini screwdriver? No idea. A roll of red organza ribbon, waiting to be put away. A handful of packets of stick on gems...Shopkeeper Gal has new colours and sizes in stock - danger, danger! The clear stamp stained red is the irregular dot that I've used quite a lot. And the 'Ta Dah' thing is an envelope from Virgin Media containing a Sim card. I must be getting old, because the letter inside was addressed 'Hello You' and I found it a bit patronising rather than friendly and warm.....ah me.
So share your far more interesting surfaces and workings with me will you.....I'm much in need of your inspiration to erm, pull my finger out and do something!

  2. Lots to look at on your desk, I quite like the treatment you've given the Prima dolly, with the papers behind her. They're not my normal style but I see things like this, and think 'oh,maybe' lol!! Have a great week. Helen

  3. Hi Julia, Every time I read your post, I think, how come Julia can make an ordinary desk come alive? I always like reading about what you've been up to. And the card is great!!! And you get to use your scraps too!

  6. The dolly seems to be a departure from your usual type of card, but if it's the second, then you must like her a lot!.
    Hello You?? Words fail me.......

  7. Hi Julia, I really like your idea of a birthday tag book. To keep it up in my craft room right infront of me, I would never forget a birthday again! I like your girl card too.

  8. I have to say my fav thing on your desk has to be the sunshine.... don't you just love the longer, brighter, sunnier days? I'm sure it changes the mood of those around us but maybe not that of Virgin Media....how rude!
    Have a great week.
    Hugs,

  9. My eye was immediately drawn to that cute Prima doll and your adorable Tag book - LOTS happening on that desk this week!

My desk is so full of book stacks the cat can barely fit on it and I can't do a thing on it! One of these days I will unbury it and take a photo - for now, my photos are actually being taken on top of the shelf under the window where there is light and a tad of space!

Have a wonderful week and I'll be back to catch up on back posts later today!

  10. I love that Prima (dolly) stamp! I have that one too. I only have one as it is not my style to be so girly but my girl friends love that sort of thing and I have made a few people very happy by making something with it.
    Have a great week,

  13. Morning Julia. Panic not! All things are equal, and we are indeed on holiday - hence very little on my post - just wanted to thank folks for all their thoughts and prayers for us and let them know we have indeed got away!!
I'm with you - don't think "Hello you" is a particularly friendly greeting if I don't know the person.
Love the doll card this morning.
See you next week - same time, same place...

  15. Hello you, I mean Good morning, Julia!
I see we both have our gigantic ATV on our desk. I just had to take mine apart because it wasn't acting right and rethread the tape. I just wanted to tell you I got up at 2:15 am to post my Blog so it would say We'dnesday, and it says 8:00 pm Tuesday, instead because that is when I wrote it! Oh well, at least I am #22 today!

  16. Hi Julia...your desk is in a lovely posie, with a garden view and sunshine - I've just moved into the lounge with my laptop to visit some desks as the sun is shine too brightly right in my desk window - it's late here and it's down near the horizon. Your Prima doll card is too cute and I love the birthday tag book idea especially 'cause it's hanging right there to view so you won't forget birthdays. Enjoy your week Cheers RobynO#25

  23. Your Prima Dolly card is lovely, with that gorgeous pieced background you made for it. I believe our society is getting much to casual, which is affecting the way letters such as the one you received from Virgin Media are addressing you. Blessings!

  24. A very time consuming card - looks lovely though, well worth the effort and it uses up all those valuable wee pieces of paper you just can't bear to throw out!

  25. Love your tag book, Julia. I have a perpetual calendar on my desk that I got for 25 cents at my second hand store. (God, I love that place!) But your tag book is smaller and therefore easier to manage and it is a creation! That's what we're all about isn't it? Love that card. I envy your green grass and GARDENS. I'll try to be a good girl and wait patiently for my turn. Thanks for hosting, as always and have a wonderful week! Nann4 # 37

  30. I so totally LOVE all the windows on this view of your room Julia. and it looks like you have a sun room too :) I have never heard of anyone being addressed as hello you. So, it must be a regional thing. The doll looks so cool on the scraps background. I have not bought any of these girls because, they don't look like they would fit on a card front. but, its tempting. :) ~Stacy #49

  32. Cute card. I love how you used all your scraps, and making 2 is a habit I need to get into. Mostly I love the green outside your window!

Also, if you get around to it: My fingers went crazy, so link 52 is wrong, and can be removed. Sorry about that...

  33. Some weeks it's just bits and pieces on the desk. I love your paper dolly, btw!

  34. Aren't strips of patterned papers just the best? Reminds me of why I never throw my scraps away! The Prima dolly is gorgeous...no wonder you made at least two. That tag book is fabulous--I really need to make some tag books. I just got in an order from Papermart of 500 tags--with shipping costs, they were still under five cents a piece. So I've got a lot tags to make. Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #40

  41. That's a nice bright photo of your desk - I hope you've been having the same warm and sunny weather we've been enjoying up here this week. The background of snippets looks perfect with your Prima dolly. Love your birthday tags. Call me old-fashioned but I object to receiving business communications that address me as Elizabeth, or worse still, Mrs Elizabeth! Hope you and yours have a good week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #50

  44. I transfer birthdays from my book to my calendar and still forget to look (as per this morning). You have just reminded me I need to do some Julie Nutting dolls for Saturday. Oh woe is me - I am starting with a cold and my whole face hurts. (Hurts anyone who looks at me too)

  45. Hi Julia,

Boy it's quiet around here, must be half term!
Well here I am like a bad penny.

I love what you did with the Prima doll, I must use mine. Those Virgin envelopes - I put them straight in recycling without opening them, but then mine don't contain sim cards, don't think they have got that familiar with me yet!

  48. Your grass looks lovely and green, our snow just melted, so we're just enjoying the brown-grey right now :) I've been wanting to store my GA upside down, but haven't yet found a simple solution to steady the bottle, and your picture is cut so that I can see there is something, but not what it is... perhaps it will still be hanging around on future wednesdays... Happy woyww!

  50. Hello Julia! I love your birthday tag booklet!! I hope you are well -- the card with the prima gal is very pretty. I make multiples of cards when I have time, too. After all, I've already gone to all the color matching trouble and pulled all the "right" embellies...
    Thank you for hosting WOYWW.
