What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 295

Well I've been caught out by the week..it really has rushed past me without warning! So, in my bid to keep some order and maintain my lovely tidy area *cough*, I tidied away the stuff that was last done on my desk. And what did I do? I dumped other stuff on it. Talk about use any surface that's clear!
What you see made me groan this morning.  Late yesterday afternoon I was making phone calls to builders and fencing type persons. Well and good. But clearly I left the phone out of its cradle and of course, it will have very little charge now. Oh well, more coffee and some desking while it recharges then.
The rest of my desk is tidy. Oh apart from that bunch of goodies that arrived from my friends at Baker Ross. Some lovely pastels and Spring themes to play with, don't doubt that you'll see more at some stage! I fear that my desk looks very un-arty. And it is. But don't fret..as soon as I make time, it will revert to type!
Set me a good example then, and show me your busy crafty arty surface would ya?  You can join in any time, there are instruction pages at the top of this blog.  Please put WOYWW in your post title..particularly useful for late visitors (me). Link here. Done.

WOYWW has a tidy virus- a good protective layer of ink on the hands is just the thing!

  3. I'll be tidy for you... got new stuff on mine too! Like the look of those hearts - even though I don't do Valentine, they are fab!! My phone loses charge fast too, think the batteries need changing!

  5. I spy a pot of gilding flakes!!! I know because I just used the same brand on Sunday! I also hadn't bothered with the directions because I "remembered" how to use them - NOT! Wound up gluing my card stock to the 6 x 6 background stamp!!! What.A.Mess! Old brain is not to be trusted!!!

I hope you and I both get back to real crafting very soon. Our mental health may just depend upon it! ;)

  6. look at me taking up two spots for no reason at all...sorry...don't have a clue how that happened other than my screen reset and I hit enter again...so please delete me at No8 if you feel so inclined, I know it messes with the rest of the numbers. So sorry about that to both you and the rest of the gang.

  9. Tis the Law of our house that any clean surface automatically becomes a repository for dumping stuff. Usually the dining table! Hope you get some time to yourself :-)

  10. There is nothing quite as annoying as a flat phone is there esp when you answer it when it rings then realise when it goes dead in your hands lol

  11. I am guilty of doing that with the phone as well... But this week I have set a good example and tied my desk!

  17. Good morning dear leader! No matter how tidy and "in place" my workspace starts out it inevitably ends up a huge heap of chaos with a tiny space for creating in the middle ... I have yet to find ANY workspace large enough! Love to you Debbie #28 xXx

  18. Still looking organised, and for a moment I thought you had iced buns on your desk, but on closer inspection notice they are hearts - not edible I presume? (you can tell I'm dieting and food obsessed at the moment!. Hope you have a great week,

  19. Cute hearts I spy. Am guilty of same with phone - it often gets buried under 'stuff' When I saw Baker Ross thought you'd had delivery of special bread/pastries - you can see how my mind works! Have fun with new goodies. Anne x @ 32

  20. Good morning, Julia. Having been MIA for 12 weeks, I fear I can offer you no good example this morning. My desk is busy, yes, but not exactly crafty!! Sorry!
    Take care. God bless.

  27. Morning Julia - well you must have heard that nature abhors a vacuum and I think the same goes for any clear surface I think!! It's such hard work being tidy! Happy WOYWW Cindyxx

  28. It's an amazing thing with empty table surfaces, they never hang around for more than five minutes!

    Happy crafting! Kristiina #26

  29. Right, I'll try again as blpogger seems to have run away with my comment. I was going to rabbit it on about nature abhorring a vacuum and the same could be said for clear surfaces - anyhow, you get the drift and it doesn't sound as funny typed the second time round. Happy WOYWW!! Cindy xx

  30. Everybody - well mostbody - seems to have a lot to do at the moment. So do I. Time consuming office work, you know filling out forms and such.
Your desk always shows some interesting things. I am pondering what is in the white opened box. Looks like heart shaped potatoes. What dear Julia is it????

  31. I'm always amazed how quickly clear surfaces get covered up with junk. Sometimes I feel I spend more time putting stuff away than creating, but I find there's something inviting about a clear work surface. Happy WOYWW zsuzsa #41

  32. Happy WOYWW Julia. I am pleased to hear that I am not the only one that leaves the phone off charge. I think your desk needs loads of art-ing things placed upon it, it looks lost. That box contents looks really weird from here.

  33. Hi Julia, Yes, if its a flat surface, stuff must be piled on it. Thats definitely the law! We have the same phones too! Does look like some interesting bits and pieces arrives, those hearts look ace. Hugs, Shaz xxx

  41. I was trying to determine what the hearts where, read Baker Ross, and jumped to the conclusion they were a type of maple candy or fudge! Yup, best get back to my coffee! I know your desk will be arty in no time! have a great week.

  42. My desk is actually crafty this week. End of last year it was just an unarty mess lol! Joined in WOYWW for the first time today :)

  43. My phone is my favorite camera right now, so it must not die! I notice the missing iPad from its cradle--but lucky you with a box of goodies in the mail. I love it when Amazon arrives on the doorstep. I'm sure when you are done with the pesky business of builders and fencers, you will up to your creative elbows in some beautiful spring card making. Happy crafting! Sandy Leigh

  44. I thought you had a box of mushrooms on your desk too. At second glance perhaps they are puffy little hearts. Have fun when you get the chance to be arty with them.

Have a great week, I'm not feeling well enough to play this week......:(

  48. Well it looks as if you're ready to dig in and make something, not messy at all!

(Ugh, I do not enjoy making phone calls to the "people." You know, the fence people, or the doctor people, or the fix-the-oven people.)

  49. eeeoooo I hate making those kinds of calls, hope you get them all sorted soon and time to play again. Your desk always looks full of promise even when it has "officey stuff" in the way - I bet it will be back to artsy messy normal next week, can't wait to see what you're going to do with the "mushrooms"!! :o) Annie C #63

  50. I'm laughing at how many people say they don't like to makes those type of calls. Me either. It is much too much like being a responsible adult and I'm totally against that.

It doesn't look too crafty on your desk this time round but I have complete faith in you that you'll crafty it up real soon. Now go put that phone back on the charger. Judy #64

  52. Hello!

I am interested in the box on the upper left - are those paper mache hearts? If so, what do you have planned for them? I was just looking at some of these and waiting to see what projects are posted on blogs. Looking forward to seeing what you do with them.

Wishing you a happy day today!

  54. We had to buy a new phone (set of) when we came back. Ours had had a sulk and stopped working whilst we were away.
Your mention of Spring and Pastels got me thinking of all those delicate colours that I rarely do but I think I will give a try to this year.
Happy WOYWW and thanks for being the brainchild behind this.

  61. I also thought the hearts were something to eat at first. Could have something to do with eating breakfast when I visited your blog! I like that your ATG gun sits up waiting to be used. Mine spends its life lying around in a drawer, lazy thing! I'm late, I'm late, but a very happy WOYWW to you, Julia!
