This makes me smile...

A Christmas gift from Shopkeeper Gal.  I love it.  The long legged bird...the bobbing birds at the foot of the label...and the name of course.  Ya sort of don't need to worry about the contents, you just know you're going to enjoy it!


This is the way I choose all sorts of things - good packaging/labelling. And to some extent, books too, are judged by their covers. Yes it means I succumb incorrectly, but hey, at least I read.  And reading with a glass of wine? Perfect.

    Packaging can certainly be a great draw. Love the long-legged bird...it reminds me of your shadow photo.

    I also (literally) judge a book by it's cover! I can tell by the cover if it's 'chick lit' (which I don't like) or a thriller aimed at blokes (too violent)etc. And I would have bought that bottle of wine too on merit of it's label. Very quirky. Anyway, it has Shiraz grapes in it and that I do like....

    Have chosen many a product in just the same way Julia and books especially! Bought a book yonks ago purely because the cover called to me and it led to the discovery of a new favourite author (book was Fortune's Rocks by Anita Shreve) and she may well have passed me by had it not been for my love of the cover of that particular edition of her book!     That's how I choose stuff too! I've had a bottle of Quirky bird - purchased by a friend not only because I am a little bonkers but my maiden name was Quirk! And it tastes lovely too :-)

    Brilliant label - the Quirky Bird is guaranteed to tempt. I don't drink but I'd buy this to give as a gift taking it on faith that the contents are going to be as good as the label :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx

    I've never been a wine person but I would try Quirky Bird because... why not?!

    I bought a wine strictly for the cat shaped bottle once. Hubby said we had to drink it. Not bad really.

    I regularly choose wine like this. For my neighbours I bought a bottle with a chicken on which tasted lovely apparently, so it does work that better wines have better packaging!

    What would you think of a woman who is virgin in her 20s?
