A Christmas gift from Shopkeeper Gal. I love it. The long legged bird...the bobbing birds at the foot of the label...and the name of course. Ya sort of don't need to worry about the contents, you just know you're going to enjoy it!
Joining Annie today for Friday Smiles.
Packaging can certainly be a great draw. Love the long-legged bird...it reminds me of your shadow photo.

Oh but this totally how I buy all wines... because I don't drink I have no other way to judge the contents!!
ReplyDeleteHah! Your friends know you so well....

Fab label.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the contents:) Sue
Enjoy a glass or two Julia.
ReplyDeleteI also (literally) judge a book by it's cover! I can tell by the cover if it's 'chick lit' (which I don't like) or a thriller aimed at blokes (too violent)etc. And I would have bought that bottle of wine too on merit of it's label. Very quirky. Anyway, it has Shiraz grapes in it and that I do like....
ReplyDeleteYou certainly CAN judge a book by it's covers, i regularly do! the bottle looks great, I wonder (ahem) why she chose it for you?!
ReplyDeleteand toilet paper called bum Fluff!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Quirky Bird. That just has to be a product with you in mind and who cares what it tastes like? :-)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Annie x
Have chosen many a product in just the same way Julia and books especially! Bought a book yonks ago purely because the cover called to me and it led to the discovery of a new favourite author (book was Fortune's Rocks by Anita Shreve) and she may well have passed me by had it not been for my love of the cover of that particular edition of her book! Love to you Quirky Bird. xXx
ReplyDeleteThat's how I choose stuff too! I've had a bottle of Quirky bird - purchased by a friend not only because I am a little bonkers but my maiden name was Quirk! And it tastes lovely too :-)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant label - the Quirky Bird is guaranteed to tempt. I don't drink but I'd buy this to give as a gift taking it on faith that the contents are going to be as good as the label :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteI've never been a wine person but I would try Quirky Bird because... why not?!
ReplyDeleteI bought a wine strictly for the cat shaped bottle once. Hubby said we had to drink it. Not bad really.
Hi Julia....oh yes, reading with a glass of red, I'm there. Labels sure do make a statement on everything...no dull wine labels here either, enjoy your weekend Robyn
ReplyDeleteI hope it is as good inside as it is out! The book too of course! Kate x
ReplyDeleteBwahaha!
ReplyDeleteI regularly choose wine like this. For my neighbours I bought a bottle with a chicken on which tasted lovely apparently, so it does work that better wines have better packaging!
Hugs

From the looks of the bottle, I'm sure that wine will be fabulous! Greetings from California.
ReplyDeleteAdorable labeling..not a wine person, but I agree on a fun cover. I've bought things just because of that.

ReplyDeleteWhat would you think of a woman who is virgin in her 20s?
ReplyDeleteShe's probably looked at as a fresh piece of meat, waiting to be plowed, and she's probably treated
with way more respect than other women since some people's minds are still in the 1800's.
