What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 291

Well, for heaven's sake, here we are at New Year's Eve.  I know time isn't really going any faster; it's very likely to be me moving more slowly.  I know that the days aren't actually any shorter by any number of minutes or hours, but man, it feels like it.
I had, in the back of my mind, a semi-plan to have a really good clear out in my work room and streamline my operation; hit the ground running and be altogether way ahead of my game. Hasn't happened yet. But it's OK, I've done other things instead. I don't know why the Christmas holiday stifles my creativity, but I think it does. I think it's the lure of food. So, my desk is cleared of the company book-keeping stuff, and waiting for something.  It may well just be the turn of a page, entry into a New Year. Or it may be that overdue clear out. I don't know, but I'm looking forward. I won't be making any retrospective posts. I'm not good at looking back, it makes me too sentimental - and also, proves that my memory is questionable!  So, given my 'It is what it is' sort of attitude, the big pink eraser leaning on my iPad is very suitable.  Part of a Christmas gift from Miss Dunnit's current Squeeze. He's got to know me quite well!

Lunch Lady Jan on the other hand, has me all wrong. I can tell you already that she'll be laughing her head off as she reads this...Seriously, all wrong.

Join in then, this New Year's Eve...show us how your holiday work surface is looking in the face of a New Year. Put WOYWW in your post title and link here. We'll do the rest.

This message comes to you without fuss or drama to wish you and yours a Happy and successful New Year; may 2015 be everything you intend it to be.

  2. Well LLJ chose a lovely gift and it would have suited me to the ground so I guess you are chuffed really.

As for the 'squeeze' - he knows how to treat his girl friends mother,
Happy New Year to you and yours. I have a full day to go before New Years Eve when I waken up and I have to go to bed yet. I am still confused - it's still Tuesday.

Happy New Year to you and the family. Hope 2015 is a great one in every way xxx

  34. Just accept you will never be tidy and organized in your art life. In my experience tidy people spend as mush time tidying up as we do looking for stuff. The true TIDY also known today as OCD is usually unable to do anything unless everything is in the right place then they can start. Perfectionism is a cousin to tidy and the carriers of these genes have a lot of angst. We untidys just tear up what we created and do not like and leave the bits on our desks and later on finding the bits declare it a treasure and reuse it!
Oh I see uyou too have the ROBOT. Google playing cop and protecting us!!!

  35. I wish you and your family a Very Happy New Year! Your comment about time not speeding up but us slowing down; it feels right. I'm going with that..perhaps it will reduce the stress of lost time...

  36. Oh Julia, I know exactly how you feel with the food drawing you in! I made myself hide in my studio from it lol. I did get alot done though...but cleaning isn't any of it. There is so much paper on my floor I think mice or birds would love a shot at nest making! Happy WOYWW!

  38. Here's wishing you a fabulous 2015 : D. I'm not much of a retrospective sort either.

We are prepared for New Year's Eve with our Penny Jar noise makers and sparkling grape juice lol. OK we celebrate the countdown with Animal Crossing lol. Tomorrow we'll eat ham and black eyed peas (a lucky day for every bean eaten on New Year's Day).

I've heard the time thing is because we have more time in our memory as we age. A year to a 5 yo is 1/5... to a 50 yo 1/50 lol. Right side of the dirt and all that : D. #41

  41. How very strange! When I logged in, I was No45 and I was just thinking I would rather be No 50. I did a refresh and, guess what, I am now No 50. What an incredibly tidy desk, Julia. I also had the intention of getting my desk straight to start the New Year ready to really get things done. However my Mojo had other ideas, finding my missing paints for me. It would have been rude not to play, wouldn't it? I hope you have a very good 2015 with lots of fun and crafting to come. Happy New Year. xxx Maggie #50

  58. I've finally started feeling like I am going to live, so I'm taking time to find out what you are up to. LLJan hasn't got it right at all. You are just a Queen. The WOYWW Queen.

Of course, that desk and the way it looks when this photo was taken, makes me think I'm at the wrong house (grin).

Happy belated New Year, dear friend. I'll see you Wednesday, at least that's the plan.
