What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 286

Well folks, this is the last of November's desks. That went by in a flash, huh! Inevitably, mine's got Christmas stuff on it, but it's not too much of a mess.  That's because I haven't had a chance to sit at it for more than a minute since last week.  But I plan to.
Yep, a box of teabags in the foreground.  I had an idea to make the tea bag holder as a gift for a couple of people, and my prototype is there in yellow...not totally enamoured of it yet, may have to have another run at the construction and tweak it to suit me better. The stars on pegs are supposed to be standing waiting for dots of glossy accents covered in Glamour dust to dry. They waited for me to turn my back before falling over. More on these at another time.  There's a card, pack of Christmas tissues and some wooden dies cuts that came all the way from Kay in New Mexico...with a Starbucks New Mexico mug, insanely generous.  And I didn't photo the mug because it's currently in the kitchen awaiting a refill...the time it takes the kettle to boil and not a minute longer!
It's not the most interesting of desks, huh,  I will attempt to (remember to) photograph it during the course of the week and see if it improves at all!  Inspire us all will ya, join in and show us how productive your workspace is..we love that! Put WOYWW in your post tile and link here.  Lovely.

  2. Has someone been swinging on your clothesline, the wires are sagging, brings back memories of my childhood when we swung on our rotary and got into deep trouble. I like the look of that teabag holder

  31. It's nice to see your desk is productive again! I know from experience (at school) that any paper/card engineering project has to be so exact for it to work properly. Good luck with the tweaking :-)

  37. Happy WOYWW. Thank you for reminding me that I was going to make a tea bag box for my Mum for Xmas. Bought a nice plain wooden box, even got paint to put a base coat on it. Have a topper to decoupage on, and was going to cover the rest with scraps of paper. Just need the time to get it done, and the posh teabags to put in it! It may well become a surprise Mothers Day gift next year! Ali x #56

Will try again this week. I am starting in the middle and working out this time. I tend to start at first or the last post to visit. Keep smiling and creating one and all.

  49. Tea is such a popular drink over there so I'm sure your teabag holder will be a welcome gift. oh, I get nervous when I see Christmas stuff on desks. I can't believe how fast this year has gone! Happy WOYWW, JUlia!

  50. HMM. Teabag box. Sounds like a fun project for a paper engineer. Your desk is really unloved this week, huh? Guess it comes from all that gin (grin).

I would have been by sooner, but life and pre-Thanksgiving plans got in the way of computer life today. Hopefully, I'll be back snooping next week.

Bless Kay's heart. I looked at our Starbucks, but there was nothing spectacular about the one they had on display. It was just the Starbuck logo, not even the state. SO generic.

Had to laugh at the gals who live in the states who wished you a happy Thanksgiving. Bet you're glad you don't have all those food preparations to worry about. It's my biggest cooking day of the year, so you know where I'm headed again after I wish you a happy week and WOYWW on Wednesday night here.

  52. Dear Julia... thank you so much for your very kind and encouraging comments on my blog! Rest assured, I am not overdoing things. I am managing to pace myself. The soap making is just the one class a week at the moment, and I'm not intending to start doing it at home until the album is finished, and the knitting gets picked up when we are watching TV in the evening. Plenty of opportunities for rest (I don't make an early start in the mornings either) and I'm more or less on top of the pacing! The main thing is how fulfilled I am feeling with the album project - I am just loving doing it because it's so full of positive memories, and the motivation behind it is love. I shall be so delighted when it's complete, but also sad to see it go - bittersweet!

As for making a mess, I often slip a sheet of scrap paper under the page I'm working on, and I try to mop up straight away if there's any mess on the desk, which I try to keep well out of the way on the right hand side of my craft mat. There's quite a lot of gel medium embedded in the texture of the binding but it does rub off. All will be fine!!

    Thanks again, Auntie Julia lol!
