What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 283

You can read the how and the why on these two pages: why and join in  It's free, no membership required and no weekly commitment.  Other than that you might get a little hooked.  I dunno.  This may be enough to put you off: ..
Taken in daylight at lunchtime on Tuesday and totally untouched since.  And certainly not staged, or I'd have removed the card with the ice skates on it!  Using a very popular (with me) set of papers to make a Christmas card.  Destined for a workshop and indeed, after taking this pic, I went back to work and ruminated a bit about the paper piecing and have decided not to go that way.  If it works, I'll post my alternative sometime.  The empty pot with orange lid next to it is supposedly the home of my gold embossing powder.  As it's empty, it's safe to assume that the powder is 'safely' under the piece of doily printed paper in that blue tidy tray.  I can't help it, it's just the way I am.  I can see three pairs of scissors, so it's all OK..my scissor basket is not yet empty! Oh any by the way - if you are thinking of coming to the annual WOYWW Crop, we've news of next year's on the page above or linked HERE.
Come on then and show me up with a view of your organised and productive work space.
Put WOYWW in your post title and link here.  easy.  Sooner or later, visiting will occur.

  3. I thought for once I was going to be no 1 ... but no, as ever beaten to it, lol! Simple things please me, see! Put me down for the crop please. Didn't add a comment to the crop tab as they all related to last year...
Love the desk, but I do hope you find that "missing" powder or you may have a very sparkly desk!

  4. Oh I love the skates card! DD is all about her ice show this time of year. And thank goodness it's number verification on yours LOL! I never really wrapped my head around paper piecing, although I've seen some lovely examples, I just don't have the patience. I guess you know your audience, and I am so curious to see the alternative. Fingers crossed the god powder is where you expect it to be :)
    happy WOYWW !

  9. Morning, Julia - oh, how I'd love to join in at the crop, but impossible. Maybe something to look forward to, when life allows. In the meantime, do show your finished Christmas cards, won't you? A lovely, busy desk as usual. Happy WOYWW, Chris # 7

  12. That ice skating card is gorgeous. I hope that embossing powder is under the paper. These things move on their own, I'm sure of it. I should buy twenty pairs of scissors as I can never find mine. Have a great week,

  14. Always enjoy searching for your scissors on your desk; rather like a "Where's Waldo".I do like the dimension of that ice skating card. Hope the missing embossing powder is where you say it is otherwise everything will become sparkly for quite awhile!

  15. Hope you find the gold embossing powder! All I can think is at least you stand a chance of finding it on your desk...... Not sure I would this week on mine I have shown close up of the layers on my desk!

  19. Hi Julia! Sorry I missed last week, but I am back. Yes, I see two pair of scissors on your desk. I have several, and sometimes, I can't find any of them! I wish I could come to the WOYWW crop, but it is far away. As to getting together over here for one, I think I am far from everyone over here too. :)

  20. I love your desk, because it is busy. As a mixed media artist, my desk is never tidy. I love that skater card, beautiful colour!!
A happy WOYWW to you, dear Julia

  21. Looking very busy today, Julia. I love the skaters card. Sorting out stuff for workshops takes a lot of work doesn't it. Had to laugh at your scissors, think I have the same problem with glue pots!!

  24. Tis the season indeed! I love those skates, very pretty. And I am so with you with regard to the embossing paper - although mine is hardly ever safe in a nice tray, just dumped on a piece of paper that I pile on top of. I have a little pair of scissors with a purple strip on the handle - they are so thin at the tip they are my besties for fine work but on both my pairs the handle is wearing away. Keep looking for replacements but no luck so far. Busy busy desk, and I'm sure I have that paper somewhere.... Happy WOYWW Cindy,xx Oh yes, May 16th 2015 is in diary.

Nice busy desk you got there and the skates are great! I'd never seen those.

  29. I'll have to show you my collection of scissors one day - I do have 2 favourite scissors that I use ALL the time - can you believe I've had them for over 15 years and they're just as good as they were when I first bought them?

Can't ever say my desk is tidy or ever looks it. Anita #42

  32. Hi Julia, my space may be productive, and that's open to question, but it's definitely not organised ... I wish! I thought for a moment there that you were going to say you had no gold embossing powder left! By the way, the EM was much impressed with the 985 holes you drilled :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  33. Morning Julia, just how many pairs of scissors should you have in the scissor pot, sounds like a brilliant idea. Love the skaters card, very pretty.
Would love to come to the crop, but think again it is very unlikely that I can get there unless we do get down to Kennet and Avon canal next year.

  34. I have some similar ice skates in a couple of crafts on my desk. :) Isn't it interesting how a project seems to require all of the scissors in the craft room??? Does anyone actually only have ONE pair of scissors in total?? ;)

  35. Hi Julia, love that ice skates card, you may just have enabled me to buy the die! And we are most definitely in for the crop, all being well I will be completely out the other end of this thing by then. Now I just have to speak very nicely to our favourite hotelier, rofl! Have a great week, hugs, Shaz xxx

  36. Oh Julia you make me feel so normal. And your's is tidy in comparison. I love that Ice skate card, brings back memories of things I can't do anymore. Fun clear stamps you are cutting apart? The season's approaching, don't know if I'll make any more progress than I did for Halloween, but I'm gonna try. Enjoy your week.

Put us down for the crop - it was so lovely last year even DH wants to come again!!! Might give him some beading to do.......

  43. Happy WOYWW. A lovely busy desk as always. I have been away from mine for 2 days and missing it. Don't sneeze, or you will lose the gold embossing powder for ever! Added a comment to the Crop page-thingy. Put me down and then I can persuade hubby to drive me up the M4. Ali x #58 (I think)

  45. I have that exact same blue tray. It would be so fun if I could just walk down the street to your house and we could have a play day. I always love your desk because it is unstaged, as it should be, and thus I know what you've been up to! Hugs! Sandy Leigh
