Taken in daylight at lunchtime on Tuesday and totally untouched since. And certainly not staged, or I'd have removed the card with the ice skates on it! Using a very popular (with me) set of papers to make a Christmas card. Destined for a workshop and indeed, after taking this pic, I went back to work and ruminated a bit about the paper piecing and have decided not to go that way. If it works, I'll post my alternative sometime. The empty pot with orange lid next to it is supposedly the home of my gold embossing powder. As it's empty, it's safe to assume that the powder is 'safely' under the piece of doily printed paper in that blue tidy tray. I can't help it, it's just the way I am. I can see three pairs of scissors, so it's all OK..my scissor basket is not yet empty! Oh any by the way - if you are thinking of coming to the annual WOYWW Crop, we've news of next year's on the page above or linked HERE.
Come on then and show me up with a view of your organised and productive work space.
Put WOYWW in your post title and link here. easy. Sooner or later, visiting will occur.
Aaah, it feels good to be back! I have missed you and all the lovely deskers but was otherwise entertained for most of the time with boxes and kitchen fitters. :(
ReplyDeleteLots of cool stuff on your desk today Julia! Hope you are having an awesome week!
ReplyDeleteRamona #5
I thought for once I was going to be no 1 ... but no, as ever beaten to it, lol! Simple things please me, see! Put me down for the crop please. Didn't add a comment to the crop tab as they all related to last year...
ReplyDeleteLove the desk, but I do hope you find that "missing" powder or you may have a very sparkly desk!
Oh I love the skates card! DD is all about her ice show this time of year. And thank goodness it's number verification on yours LOL! I never really wrapped my head around paper piecing, although I've seen some lovely examples, I just don't have the patience. I guess you know your audience, and I am so curious to see the alternative. Fingers crossed the god powder is where you expect it to be :)
ReplyDeletehappy WOYWW !
MA
Welcome back Voodoo Vixen, I've missed her, I move into the state she lives in and she moves out LOL. I love the view of your desk when you show the window, dont ask me why. I love seeing the rubbish bin and what ever Mr Dunnit leaves for us to show its his domain LOL

Good morning, Julia. No chance my desk will show up yours... Love the ice skating card, and glad to know you still have scissors in the scissor pot..
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.
Margaret #11
Morning, Julia - oh, how I'd love to join in at the crop, but impossible. Maybe something to look forward to, when life allows. In the meantime, do show your finished Christmas cards, won't you? A lovely, busy desk as usual. Happy WOYWW, Chris # 7
ReplyDeleteXmas cards are next on my list and I will be scoring a number of woyww desks like yours for inspiration. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteSandra de @21(i wish)
Your desk is getting very festive I see, with lots going on and I saw the post before this that was a lot of drilling going on wow, and you still have time to craft wtg :) hugs Nikki 20
ReplyDeleteThat ice skating card is gorgeous. I hope that embossing powder is under the paper. These things move on their own, I'm sure of it. I should buy twenty pairs of scissors as I can never find mine. Have a great week,
ReplyDeleteVon #23
A lovely "Julia" type desk.
ReplyDeleteThe ice skate card looks beautiful.
Toni xx
Always enjoy searching for your scissors on your desk; rather like a "Where's Waldo".I do like the dimension of that ice skating card. Hope the missing embossing powder is where you say it is otherwise everything will become sparkly for quite awhile!
ReplyDeleteHope you find the gold embossing powder! All I can think is at least you stand a chance of finding it on your desk...... Not sure I would this week on mine I have shown close up of the layers on my desk!
ReplyDeleteJackie 19
Love the card with the skates on today. Looks like you've had a busy time on your desk this week.
ReplyDeleteHoping to join you on the crop this year but will say for certain when I've consulted the family :-)
Hugs,
Annie x
Morning Mrs ... It's all looking good the red and gold is creeping in everywhere.... Even my desk... Finally.
ReplyDeleteNow it's turned chilly I can think about C a bit more
Have a great week
Lots 0f crafty stuff there today Julia - looks like you are having fun too! x Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Julia! Sorry I missed last week, but I am back. Yes, I see two pair of scissors on your desk. I have several, and sometimes, I can't find any of them! I wish I could come to the WOYWW crop, but it is far away. As to getting together over here for one, I think I am far from everyone over here too. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your desk, because it is busy. As a mixed media artist, my desk is never tidy. I love that skater card, beautiful colour!!
ReplyDeleteA happy WOYWW to you, dear Julia
Hugs
Gabriele 30
Looking very busy today, Julia. I love the skaters card. Sorting out stuff for workshops takes a lot of work doesn't it. Had to laugh at your scissors, think I have the same problem with glue pots!!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW
Hugs Lisax #33
The skates card is lovely.
ReplyDeleteI do love scanning your desk for all the various stash:)
Happy WOYWW
Sue #34
What a beautiful card with the ice skates! I love that die and wish I had it in my stash! Happy WOYWW!
ReplyDeleteGlenda #37
Tis the season indeed! I love those skates, very pretty. And I am so with you with regard to the embossing paper - although mine is hardly ever safe in a nice tray, just dumped on a piece of paper that I pile on top of. I have a little pair of scissors with a purple strip on the handle - they are so thin at the tip they are my besties for fine work but on both my pairs the handle is wearing away. Keep looking for replacements but no luck so far. Busy busy desk, and I'm sure I have that paper somewhere.... Happy WOYWW Cindy,xx Oh yes, May 16th 2015 is in diary.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could come to the crop. Who knows, we might be in the UK in our campervan in May.... you never know.... (I'll drop some hints to hubby)
ReplyDeleteNice busy desk you got there and the skates are great! I'd never seen those.
Lisca#28
Hi Julia...seems there are quite a few of us with numerous pairs of scissors, which you need of course when you're in the creating zone, mine always wander from where I put them. Just love the skates card too. Have a great week RobynO#39
ReplyDeleteI love the Christmas paper - and also the ice-skates card, I might invest in the the die as you've made it look really gorgeous! Have a great week,
ReplyDeleteDiana #40
Looks like you've been a bit busy Lol! Love the skates card, I have a similar die must get it out to use with my Christmas Masterboards.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week and happy crafting. Off now to take mummy shopping but will be back soon to finish my visits, Angela x
Sorry Julia, Angela x 40
ReplyDeleteI'll have to show you my collection of scissors one day - I do have 2 favourite scissors that I use ALL the time - can you believe I've had them for over 15 years and they're just as good as they were when I first bought them?
ReplyDeleteCan't ever say my desk is tidy or ever looks it. Anita #42
Well, Julia, I'm another one who loves the skates card! It's really cool. Your desk has a healthy, lived in, worked in look about it that is sure to encourage any newcomers to WOYWW to dive right in!!
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW,
Shoshi 40
How can you lose gold powder? The mind boggles...
ReplyDeleteThe ice skating card is very pretty :-)
LLJ 25 xx
Hi Julia, my space may be productive, and that's open to question, but it's definitely not organised ... I wish! I thought for a moment there that you were going to say you had no gold embossing powder left! By the way, the EM was much impressed with the 985 holes you drilled :) Hugs, Elizabeth xx
ReplyDeleteMorning Julia, just how many pairs of scissors should you have in the scissor pot, sounds like a brilliant idea. Love the skaters card, very pretty.
ReplyDeleteWould love to come to the crop, but think again it is very unlikely that I can get there unless we do get down to Kennet and Avon canal next year.
Chris #27
I have some similar ice skates in a couple of crafts on my desk. :) Isn't it interesting how a project seems to require all of the scissors in the craft room??? Does anyone actually only have ONE pair of scissors in total?? ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, love that ice skates card, you may just have enabled me to buy the die! And we are most definitely in for the crop, all being well I will be completely out the other end of this thing by then. Now I just have to speak very nicely to our favourite hotelier, rofl! Have a great week, hugs, Shaz xxx
ReplyDeleteOh Julia you make me feel so normal. And your's is tidy in comparison. I love that Ice skate card, brings back memories of things I can't do anymore. Fun clear stamps you are cutting apart? The season's approaching, don't know if I'll make any more progress than I did for Halloween, but I'm gonna try. Enjoy your week.
ReplyDeleteIt warms the cockles of my little heart to see you working on Christmas projects! I like the ice skates die very much, I think dies are among my most favourite crafting tools available.WOYWW crop already! SO you can be organised sometimes then!!

I love the ice skates card! Takes me way back to my childhood. Your desk is definitely busy and has oodles of fun stuff on it! (And I can only see 2 pair of scissors..hmmm.) Happy WOYWW and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteCarol N #50
Love the desk! FYI I have a scissors stand - I think it was meant to hold cups. I also have a box of fancy edged scissors but not a pot.
ReplyDeletePut us down for the crop - it was so lovely last year even DH wants to come again!!! Might give him some beading to do.......
Bishopsmate #56
That piece of paper right in the middle, that looks as if there are scratches on, is quite intriguing Julia! I love how your worksurface is covered in stuff! Next year's woyww-meeting? Oh, how I wish... we'll see! Have a great week dear, hug from Holland. Marit #55
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW. A lovely busy desk as always. I have been away from mine for 2 days and missing it. Don't sneeze, or you will lose the gold embossing powder for ever! Added a comment to the Crop page-thingy. Put me down and then I can persuade hubby to drive me up the M4. Ali x #58 (I think)
ReplyDeleteCor! You really are getting on with Christmas! All this looks very interesting, love the doilies! Crop next year? The man from Manchester - he say yes!!! Didn't comment on post for crop - looks a bit strange - are you singing the Time Warp?? We'll try for a B and B a bit closer this time!!! Chris 57
ReplyDeleteI have that exact same blue tray. It would be so fun if I could just walk down the street to your house and we could have a play day. I always love your desk because it is unstaged, as it should be, and thus I know what you've been up to! Hugs! Sandy Leigh
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to have more than one pair of scissors in a dedicated basket! Why haven't I thought of that before? I can never find mine! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #42
ReplyDeleteHooked on WOYWW? Most of us are hook, line and sinker....LOL
ReplyDeleteAs for your desk this week.....we can tell you've been a busy little lady! Can't even see the top of Betsy this week either, but isn't that the way it is supposed to be?
Have a great week Julia.
Krisha #24

ReplyDeleteMine is neither organised or productive now, but cleared for dinner! Looks like Christmas crafting is in full swing here.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a lot of fun goodies this week. Would love a better look at that card with the ice skates.
ReplyDeleteno embossing powder is ever safe on my desk.
ReplyDeleteIts a constant vigilance of will, prayer and glitter!
Goodness but I'd love to join the crop. However, the cross Atlantic flight fare might be a bit much.
ReplyDeleteI see not only are you into doilies lately, but you've even got doily paper.
Happy creating and happy Woyww,
Sandy #26

ReplyDeleteMade it on Wednesday!! WOW your desk really looks busy this week! Vickie #68
ReplyDeleteOh ... you are starting up that "Christmas Feeling" in my belly! Grin... Thanks for the inspiration... and GREAT skate card!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, safe and secure in a tray that can be knocked asunder any second now! Oh my, I'm going to lose sleep over that tidy tray of embossing powder now!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow - I don't even see the desk top. Must mean there are lots of creative things going on. :-)
ReplyDeleteApril
