What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 266

Use the links in the bar across the top if you'd like more information or a bit of a 'how to' - although it's very easy to join in and we're not dangerous!

Well looksee everybody - she's actually doing something at her desk!  Yep..this was taken on Tuesday afternoon at about 4pm.  By 6pm it was such a mess that I was happy to back off and leave it. Honestly, I may want to be stamping and playing, but the inspiration part of my brain doesn't want me to be! You can see my trusty iPad, playing some comedy which I love.  Alcohol inks dripped onto vellum is the blobby mess you see - I like it actually, and will probably show the card off at some point after the workshop.  The stamps are cast-asides that I've picked off the shelf to use and either used and erm, cast them aside, or not even bothered to use them.  The Copics are for an entirely diferent workshop that was postponed whilst I was poorly, and the rest is frankly, just rubbish!

I'm getting there, and there's no doubt that your desks are more interesting than mine, so   join in and inspire - purleeeease!

  13. Morning Julia, good to see you up and at 'em! Very inspiring artistic collection on your desk- see, that was nicely put, wasn't it? I spy an Artiste Palette inkpad- I got a few of those a while ago, not really used them yet. I'll be truthful- I'd actually completely forgotten about them till I saw that one. The Alcohol inks looks good on vellum- I tried it on mirror card this week, you will love how it looks, you need to try it. Keep looking after yourself, Hugs, Shaz xxx

  36. Oh Julia

being off myself and not well so not been joining in the world of social media (apart from yesterday), I hadn't realised you'd been poorly. I'm so sorry to hear that. You're like one of the people that I don't expect to ever get ill - you're a rock you see!!! I really hope that you are on the better side of getting better!!! So, in that case, it really is nice to see you back at your desk...

Lovin' the blobs of ink - bet it will make an interesting background piece for a card or other project!

Wishing you better and better as the days pass - big hugs

  38. Hi Julia, or may be that should be bye Julia! As you will see, my web site is closing down. I've had real fun with WOYWW until my health has deteriorated and I can no longer do my Pyrography, so haven't joined in with WOYWW for months.

Thanks to all the WOYWWers who have been praying for me and I wish you all well for the future. Margaret (glitterandglue) will keep me up to date with all your goings on.

    Kind regards,
    John W.

  40. I love, just simply love, that blue on the vellum. It's gorgeous! Makes me want to break out my AI's again - must say I have not used them in ages. So many things I want to do, just wish I was 20 and where I am now in my thinking (and not having to go to work as I did at that age).
Glad you are beginning to feel much better Julia, it will all come back, nature has a way of protecting us from overdoing things when we have been ill. Take advantage of the sunshine and get some rest and vitamin D from it (if I have the right vitamin LOL)

  47. Thanks for your visit and your encouraging remarks about my diet - I know it will start to show eventually! Meantime the scales don't lie and they are the best encouragement of all! Lol at your remark re my dirty kitchen paper - I had you in mind as I created the background and hoped you'd get to see what I eventually did with it! I keep all my rubbish these days and the more I do so, the more my imagination is trained to fly, and it's a really fun adventure.

    Have a great week,

  49. Welcome back to creating a lovely blue blob on your desk. I have tried AI on everything but vellum.. will have to try this soon. AI work wonderfully on raw wood (don't tell your DH he would be horrified) I stained the little shelf on my desk to match my cedar table. My DH was amazed and he is rarely amazed at my craft:(

  70. Hi, Julia, it's nice to see you back at your desk. Is it rare for you not to have mojo? I will say that I've never thought of using alcohol inks on vellum before -- so that seems pretty creative. :) Hope you're having a good WOYWW!

  78. Hi Julia,
Thanks for your kind offer to ask around about the cassette punch handle. I've probably had it for more than 10 years so am not hopeful about getting a replacement. It was a case of plastic stress failure so any others of that vintage are possibly about to suffer the same fate.
Eliza said she thinks there is a newer version which the old punch cassettes will fit, so I'm hoping to hear back from her. Meanwhile I will keep googling :)

  79. I am late visiting your desk, but glad to see that you are at least trying to get back in the swing of things. Of course, who can blame you if you want to take a few days off to extend your birthday celebration.

Sorry I haven't played along for a couple of weeks. I just can't seem to get my act together long enough to blog hop. And I don't believe in linking in if I can't (or don't) participate.

  80. Love the alcohol ink on vellum! Can't wait to see what you've made of it! I usually find mojo when I've done a bit of tidying up and stumble across something and then need to make something with it... which is why my desk is never fully cleared off... and now I've grown a bit superstitious about it lol.
