What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 267!

Hello!  WOYWW - What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday is explained and there's a 'how to' in the links shown across the top of this page. Other ideas with ridiculous acronyms are probably available.
This taken at twilight on Tuesday.  I'm working on the last of some 'Summer Grunge' cards for a workshop.  I aim to deliver the samples today, so I hope this last one comes together as I see it in my mind's eye!  Glasses abandoned where I can guarantee to find them (!), card with glitter glue on it drying in the open stable doorway, part of my Distress Stain collection standing to attention waiting to serve.  See the weaklings that fainted in the heat!  Two pairs of tweezers at bottom right, and neither of them much good..it's a tool I can't work without but I really need to stop putting up with these and find a really good replacement.  There's double sided tape on my 'stickys drawer'..because the ATG has run out; I guess because of my inattention over the last few weeks I haven't seen the end coming in time to order more...but that's OK, it's not exactly heart breaking or life threatening. The main thing is that in a slow and ponderous way...I'm back at my desk.  If only ideas would transfer from head to card much, much quicker!

Inspire us do, please show us what you're up to this week by photographing your work surface, brag a little about it on your blog and link here so that we can visit.  No blatant advertising please - this is about you and your desk, not about your business, multiple links to products or guest appearances.  Thank you!

  1. Good to see you back at your desk, even if the blog title looks as if you forgot to scroll back and check the issue - week 26?!! lol! Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine (too hot for me, though)

  2. Good desk :) That script embossing folder is one of my favourites. It works for lots of purposes. I've got a very, very fine pair of tweezers, industrial variety. Very useful. Hope you show the grunge cards when finished. Have a good week,

  4. What I don't like about the double sided tape is you have to buy it, and it seems to run out so quickly- tho it is quick.
I break for wet glue!( must make number sticker!

  6. I order my ATG tapes in a box of 12. I still run out way too often :). Funny how hard it is to go back to peeling off backings on tape. Ah well, at least it sticks, mostly. It's been so long since I had to resort to tape, that some of the reels were a little dry and unstcky. :). And you seem to have come around to the whole grunge thing....i like grunge and i like what i see. Bet the workshop folk will too Have a great day

  10. Hope you're having a great week Julia! I hate it when my tape runners run out...

This week, you all get to see my craft room in full glory as it's on tour! All those places I normally keep under wraps - peek to your heart's content!

Have a great and wonderful WOYWW of a week! :-)

  11. It's wonderful to see you up and crafting again, Julia! I do think we all experience a bit of a transference problem in the summertime. If the heat doesn't squelch good intentions, the pull of being outside does! Then once you take a break, voluntary or not, it is a bit of push to get into it again with Gusto (being the first cousin of Mojo on the mother's side).

Have a wonderful week and thank you, as ever!! Hugs, Darnell #17

  13. Good to see you're back in the crafting saddle :-) I don't normally equate summer with grunge so it'll be interesting to see what you come up with!

  14. Hello Julia. Good to see that you are feeling better than you were - getting back to your desk and making. Those ATG's do seem to run out all too quickly!! Still love mine though . I boughty tweezers at a sugarcraft show - ends are fine. Have others and rarely use em. Have a great day. Anne # 20

  17. Good to see you back at your desk and crafting. You seem to have the same problem as me this week, which I mention in my post this week, getting something from your head to paper, I wasted hours this week trying to make a Christmas card! It should did not come together on paper like it was in my head. What's worse is I'm not the sort of person who just gives up...... So five hours later I binned it! Five wasted hours, and crafting time was precious last week!!!!! Oh well it's not life or death!

  19. Nice busy desk, Julia, and lol at the Distress Stains fainting in the heat!! If I left anything to dry in an open doorway like that, I would have creative input all over it from the kitties...

  21. Morning Julia, I like that page, will make a really super background for a man card.
I like your selection of dabbers on the left back, and I know what you mean about tweezers, really good ones are important but getting them and other good basic tools is not always easy. Shops seems to sell either very cheap ones or very expensive ones, but nothing in between.
Hope you can get your skills back soon.
    Bless you.

  22. My glasses are constantly on top of my head it's the only way I know where they are. I've got loads of ready specs all over the house but how come they all end up in one room.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, it is good to see your glasses there, and a card drying in the "open stable doorway". It means it is back to business as usual for you. Have a gay old time! :)

  28. Good to see you back in action, even if it is slow action!
I use an old pair of tweezerman tweezers... you know proper tweezers instead of craft ones. I've never found a craft pair that I liked!

  29. Hi Julia, I hope you will excuse me for showing this tool thing on my post. I am not trying to sell them or anything though Anne did say I should be on commission LOL! but so many people have asked about it that it seemed like a good idea to show everyone just what you get.
Pleased you are feeling well enough to start crafting again.
    Have a great week, Angela x # 42

  37. Am sitting here melting - I am in envy of your stable door - my little shed is like an oven during the day.

Have been having a booger of a job getting head to transfer to paper lately. Hope yours turn out the way you want.

Julia - I have linked to an artist in my post today because what I'm working on is in her style and I linked to where I'm doing the class (though I believe it might be closed to sign ups now) I just clocked the last bit of your post - Just didn't want to claim credit or whatever but let me know if I should un-link?

  42. "Fainted in the heat" lol! We're freezing this week due to that typhoon in Asia shifting our weather patterns, at least 15F below normal this morning, I had the heater on in the car! Love the desk, wonderfully busy and represents a return to form. Good to have you back.

  43. Hi Julia, linking after I've been to sleep today! You really are getting back into the swing of it, aren't you? I have some first aid style pointy tweezers, for my choice. Love how the script folders come out, I don't use mine often enough. Have a smashing week, Hugs, Shaz XxX

  44. Ah, the site of your desk does the heart good!! Love the sound of "Summer Grunge" Can't wait to see the finished cards. Yes, a love hate battle with tweezers; A nurse friend gave me a forceps type-thingy once; it worked great!! Someone else thought so too, as it vanished at a workshop. Have a great week.

  46. Hi Julia,

So good to see you back in the swing of things, I was getting worried when I saw the bottles collapsed from the heat. You keep on creating and have fun, this is what life is about having fun along the journey we travel.

I have some favorite tweezers but I hate those ones you have to squeeze to hold open, just give me normal ones any day.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

We're all so happy to see you feeling better and getting back into it. :-)

  50. Oh dear, stains passing out from the heat (or fatigue?). Lots of nice things to explore on your desk. Right there is why we all *need* multiple adhesives... what if one of them runs out in the heat of battle??!!! We need back ups.

  51. The best thing about this desk is that you are back working. So thrilled to see you feeling up to playing again. A little at a time.

I bought a set of varying styles of tweezers at a $1 store several years ago. Best ones I've ever owned. Crazy.

  52. Hi Julia, sadly not joining in today - so much to do I can't guarantee commenting and that would not be fair to my fellow desk snoopers. However, just had to pop in and say how nice it is to see you crafting, albeit in a 'slow and ponderous' way, and to see the stable door open again too. Take care. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

  59. Funny, isn't it? Shaker cards never really appealed to me. I think the ones I'd seen seemed a bit cutesy or too fussy. Not yours, I'm sure. One of my ladies wanted to learn how to do one, so I needed to find a way to make one in my own style and it didn't seem to fit me. I got there in the end! Have you made a "Card in a Box" yet? I think I may be addicted to them!

  61. Hi Julia,
I'm finally visiting and leaving comments today.

I accidently bought some of the daubers, thinking they were spray bottles. Haven't used them yet but I figure they'll be fine. Can you use them on stamps?

  62. Hello, Julia, it was so funny, my main concern when there was no electricity and no internet was I wouldn't be able to post for WOYWW on time!

I have tweezers from my hubby (who is a surgeon) but I don't use them that much. You've reminded me to look for them and try them out again.
Happy WOYWW! Thank you for dropping by!
