What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 257

Really. 257.  So that's only 3 weeks from the big 5th anniversary on 260.  How ridiculous.  How hilarious! If you're tempted or planning to come to the WOYWW Crop (and why wouldn't you be - it's a gas!), please leave a message to say so - unless you have already of course - there's a page at the top of this blog about the Crop, and about the Anniversary ATC RAK...click to explore.  Thank you!

In the meantime, there's yet more multiples type work at my desk.  I'm making invitations. And I'm not really sure how or what look; I'm genuinely going with the flow.  And trying to use nothing but existing stash.  Hmmm, I will report in, if they end up looking anything like the elements that are gathered thus far it will be a miracle. Things are relatively tidy.  It's really rather calming.  Considering that calm is not at all how I'm feeling about getting these done.  Nothing like a deadline, huh! See that treble clef die at left on my notebook. Bought especially for the invites.  Unused so far.  More Hmmmmmm.

Now please, share and tell will ya, it's all about seeing the surface and drooling over what you've got and what you're doing.  I know the arrival of light mornings in the UK has meant that I am now posting after 6am BST, but really, you abroad types get the scheduled version all winter! Join in then - put WOYWW in your post title, link here and put the kettle on. Thanks!

  4. Your desk looks very tidy indeed and the cleft note thingy (see I am not very musical, can't you) looks great so I am now wondering what sort of invite would require one... :)

  5. Always so busy... Bet you're glad to do something other than ATCs!!

  7. It's that odd time of the morning that keeps us all on our toes. I can understand 6 am, but 6:11? Where did that come from (grin).

You look nearly as young as that previous photo of you and Mr. D. Of course, you could say it's the reflection that did it, but I think it's a great image.

  10. I've been up since 4:30 and slightly. Loopy so nearly forgot I am once again able to comment, love that die, and the butterfly. I am starting the day with my desk in a state but with luck by the end of the day mine will rival yours for neatness :). I can only hope....

  15. A very organised desk, Julia. I'm into "using only existing stash" at the moment too! I've got so much stuff I've bought and never yet used! There's always something to tempt one, isn't there. The treble clef die looks interesting, and I'd love to see what the invites look like. Those embossed tags are gorgeous.

I still haven't decided whether I'm going to be able to take part in the ATC swap. I'd like to but I've got a lot on at the moment and limited time when I'm energetic enough to do anything!!

    Thanks for hosting us again.

    Happy WOYWW,

  18. Good morning, Julia. Seems your to-do list is even longer than mine - I trust you manage it all. I like that treble clef die. Being a musician that appeals.
Thanks for so faithfully staggering through this each Wednesday.

  20. A deadline can certainly help with the production of invites. As for buying craft things for a particular purpose and not using it.... oh yes I have a cupboard full!!

  24. Morning Julia.
Your invitations look as if they will be good if you get them done. How many do you have to make? That butterfly die cutter is nice, works well, I have it and use it a lot. Like the treble clef, must see if I can get that.
    Bless you

  27. Great desk AS USUAL!!!! Am about to put my head in the oven over the WOYWW ATC's ... Maggie C is trying to keep me calm but have never made one before so ... well, you can imagine the jitters!
I love the way you have a notebook on your desk & I assume you write down everything you use for any particular project? I really must get into the habit of doing that as I can never remember what I used and sometimes someone will ask! Happy WOYWW'ing Julia! Love Debbie #46 xXx

  34. Going with the flow when making cards is usually my modus operandi - LOL! You have some great elements there, but if you operate anything like me, you may end up with something completely different. That's the wonder of the creative process. Whatever you do with the invitations, I'm sure they will be marvelous. Blessings!

  36. I like the beginning of your creative tags. Some dies...are hard to work with, good luck with that. I wish I could come to a crop, I could use a break in creative fun. Hoping for rain so I can finish up my ATC's. And I like the long legged birdie stamp. Enjoy, thanks for hosting.

  39. Would invites with a treble clef on them have anything to do with the woywwer at No2 this week??! Love the tidy desk and the ipad reflection, looks nice and sunny, it's thundering and pouring down here this morning. Three weeks today I'll be boarding a plane somewhere in the Caribbean heading back to the US! I think that's a good way to celebrate woyww, don't you?!

  40. Good morning/afternoon, Julia! Good luck with the invitations. Something will click and then you'll be off to the races. I, too have an adrenaline project or two going on -- Mother's Day cards not made and cupcakes not frosted because I didn't have enough confectioner's sugar. Ah, well. 44. I'll have to try making the components first next time I try making multiples. I usually get distracted and then go with a "well the cards are sort-of themed" rationale lol. Lovely die, looking forward to seeing it in action. I also love that long-legged bird :D. It's good to be back.

Oh, how I would love to come to the crop but not this year. I need to put it on my Bucket List!

Your desk looks quite tidy, little piles of tags. By the way, I love how the tags are looking. I can see the embossing and it looks great. Good luck with making the invites - what's your deadline?

  54. Julia, I do believe that is the first time I've ever seen your actual desk surface! I suspect that while it's calming it's also challenging for you to create that way lol! You seem to thrive with the chaos which I adore btw! Happy Wednesday!

  63. I did not manage to post this week. Went to take photos and all the camera batteries are flat and the chargers are AWOL. My desk is even more of a wreck with stencil and stamp sorting still in progress and ATC's now added to the mix. Your desk, by contrast is remarkably tidy. I am really looking forward to the Crop and meeting everyone. xx Maggie

  65. First time to this party although Robyn's posts tempt me most weeks. Nice way to spend hump day. I am not a fan of doing multiples of anything so can't imagine, but you seem to be very good at it with the embossing folder action and maybe there's a Zen-like state you get after a bit? Anyways, thanks for the invitation. - Charmaine #94

  66. Julia - a response for you - embossing paste is awesome - but pricey. I bought mine on sale - hence why it is blue! On my card course, they use it in white through a stencil, let it dry, then mist it - DROOL. Cx #72
