What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 255

Join in do.  You aren't too late.
At the top of this page is a selection of links that will tell you about WOYWW.

You find me, gentle desker, in the middle of making ATCs.  For the WOYWW fifth anniversary link give-away thingy. There's a page about that up there at the top too.
No standing on chairs or danger involved..just average arm's length, promise! Usual suspects of course, and featuring the empty mug - this time it was a packet soup thing with bits of pasta.  See, I'm getting to my desk in short sharp bursts, so lunch was deliberately desk-friendly.  Even if it was 4 o,clock!

You can't see in the pic above, but this small pic shows the next step in my ATC stamping.  I'm winging it, obviously. And mostly because my original plan was scuppered when I did the last thing I should have done to them, first.  Naturally.
Ah well. And you can see the theme; it's to echo all the words I produce that you read. Blah blah blah!

Some will be for trading at the WOYWW Crop which is the weekend prior to WOYWW 5, which is number 260. If you're planning to come to the Crop and have't told us yet, would you mind letting either me or Lunch Lady Jan know.  No pressure, yet!
Meanwhile, share what's on your work surface will you?  Particularly if you're working in the wrong order and making a horlicks of everything..I shall feel extremely very especially and particularly at home!

  2. Well Missy, your desk is busy as always. I wish I could take part this year in the ATC exchange, but I'm up to my eye balls in...well you know! I'm helping a friend move and I'd forgotten how much work that is. I do look forward to seeing what everyone has created. Until next time...Hugs from Northern California

  5. G'day Julia...oooohhh I love the stamp. Your ATC's will be amazing I am sure. Yes I do things back to front all time...I painted some water wrong in my second landscape paiting attempt and now I have no idea how to fix it...I shall have to take it to the studio/gallery drop in session and ask a teacher for help me thinks. Julia the pink card in posts below for your card marathon is just beautiful!

  6. I feel like I'm working in the wrong order, too. I checked every 15 minutes until about 5:30 your time. Then I went to the basement to find an envelope. Couldn't find it, so now I'm late getting here. OH well. Like your blah blah blah stamp. But of course, I'm starting to panic, since mine will take so much longer to arrive than many in (your) country.

  7. Oooh I love that bla bla stamp. I could do a whole canvas of that, crazy cool. Pretty much everything I do is in the wrong order. I might do a post of how I did my birds face, now there was lots of wrong order there!
    Have a great week,

  16. Hi Julia...well you are nicely organised - getting along with your ATCs, the weeks sure are flying by and I think I might be winging it a bit this week to see what I can come up with. I understand too about the 4 o'clock lunch, time does fly when you are busy and enjoying yourself. Cheers and have a wonderful week RobynO#18

  21. OMG. Did you change something?? I can see that it once again allows me to comment with my wordpress blog. How long has that been in effect? I used to check occasionally but sort of gave up....

I love the Blah Blah Blah idea - and how funny cause I actually carved a word stamp with that on it as well.

Happy WOYWW m'dear and looking forward to the crop.

Mary Anne (who's email is down across the pond and with stupid internet issues this side of the water - why oh why is it never smooth sailing?)

  22. Morning Julia, Love that bright orangey yellow for the ATCs.
It is encouraging to find that I am not the only one who has trouble with getting ATC's finished. All looking good until I did what was supposed to be finsishing touches, and then they are in the bin and it is back to the craft mat to start again.

  26. Lots of my work is done backwards Julia so you'd feel very at home here :-) I often have to take garments apart carefully backwards to do repairs so that I have a few clues as to how they go back together afterwards....trust me when I say I don't always know what I'm doing hehehehe

  29. I so love that stamp how apt... also what's with doing things in order, it should be total chaos equivalent. Love all the embossed and stamped works on your desk, you really are into text this week. Sorry I have been awol but trying to make a very big effort this week. Was going to post on the Friday but that was a tad late I think. Thanks for hosting the WOYWW.

  36. Good Morning Julia, how very good of you to be doing your ATCs. So organised short blasts or not. Planning a long day of crafting with short blasts at the pc visiting desks. There certainly worse ways to spend a Wednesday! Happy WOYWW Cindyx (Love the blah blah stamp - I can see how that appealed!)

  38. I love that you say you are making a "horlicks of everything" what a super expression.
Well Julia you are a lot further on than I am with the atc's - I must get my act together and shut myself away in the craft room. Do you ever think that the word "act" is a muddled version of "atc"? I must get my act together for my atc. Mmm, forget it, I have only just woke up. It's me that is in a muddle.
    Happy WOYWW week.

  51. Good morning, Julia! (Um, afternoon, too, as I try to think what time it might be in the UK. :) ) The blah, blah, blah stamp is funny. I'm not sure if I've done the last step first recently, but I'm really good at cutting a sheet of paper in exactly the opposite way I need to do -- thank goodness I usually have more than one sheet! Happy WOYWW!!!

I feel like my ears have been assaulted this past weekend between my visiting mother and my visiting nephew (which makes me realize just now why my brother is in jail--the only way he could think of to get away from them two!!!). I think make it up as you go is how some of the best ATCs and cards get made. Happy day to you!

  66. Oh, Julia, I so need that blah blah stamp for a card for a friend of mine. I am now starting to panic about the ATC's. The idea is in place, just the space and time to do them that is lacking. This afternoon was set apart to start, but I sat down after lunch and..... fell asleep (and I had not even had a Horlicks). Just realised it is only five weeks till the crop - panic! xx Maggie #10

  75. Thank you for your visits this week, Julia. The towing is not a problem and has never worried me. I just need to remember that it is on the back of the motor. I just need to start packing earlier and spread the load a bit. I am very stiff this week, having done too much really in too short a time. But it is a big achievement for me. It is lovely to know how much Geoff was valued by everyone and to see his tree doing so well. xx Maggie #10

That stamp is perfect (for so many of us)! I didn't participate this week as I wouldn't have been able to get around to visiting like I should.

I will be participating in the ATC swap though, so need to come up with something!
