What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 248

Here's some real news.  Stuff I never imagined I'd be writing about.  It's WOYWW's fifth anniversary at the end of May.  28th May to be precise.  Easier, it's week 260. I can hardly believe it.  Suffice to say, if you need notice...here it is. We're going to mark the anniversary. With a list chain ATC swap, just as we did last year.  It will sound familiar to many of you, and I hope not boring. I will, as time trots towards week 260, set up a page with how and how and how and how.  You get to send an ATC to one person, or make a bunch of them to send to erm, a bunch of people.  So yesterday's post suddenly seems really apposite, huh.  See, this blog isn't just thrown together you know.  *cough*

Meanwhile, and without further ado..here's my desk, that's what you're here for.
It's displaying my best skill...the push back technique.  My ipad is hiding behind the 'Old Chap' and other cards.  I'm listening to Pride and Prejudice whilst I play with my new stamps. I have a handful of new stamps and will be boring you with them very shortly. For a long time.
Join me do - show me and inspire me - you know you can.

  3. I am still pinching myself, too. I was sure I wouldn't be doing this dance for FIVE years, but here I am, still plugging away. I've seen some come, and some go, but YOU, dear friend are always here each Wednesday.

BTW, you can drink your wine, I'll have my coffee (grin). That almost reminds me of some song lyrics.

  10. Face itJulia of Many Names you are a star.

Great idea and so far your head is still on your neck and you are not wearing a crown. Girl this is a great diversion you created. Better go. I hurt my Latissimus something muscle that holds my reconstructed boob in place and may have silicone leaking into my system. Over dramatic at worst boob has moved and heading to armpit hide out.

  15. Well, I'm back this week, strong with withdrawals!!

An other anniversary? already? Loved playing along last year, so will be looking forward to it again this year.

Nice stash of new stamps, love the "old chap" one.

Oh dear! my pillow is now calling my name, and I haven't even made my T-day rounds yet. G-ma duty interrupted that. So must do that tonight so I can desk hop with a cuppa coffee in the morning.

  16. I'm going to bed Julia it is almost 11:30 pm here in the USA and way past my bedtime- but before I do, I had to tell you how obsessed I am with those clear stamps on your mighty desk that have some of my favorite words like "coffee" and "bacon" and "bling." I might dream about that. Hugs!

  17. Oh my, isn't it amazing how fast time goes!? i still have some ATCs that I was making for last year's anniversary! and yes, the push back technique is also my best skill!

  19. Amazing to think it will soon be the 5th anniversary- wow! I'll be there with my atc's. Nothing wrong with the push back method when you have something at the back to stop it all falling off the edge!

    ReplyDelete
  20. The push back technique (or in my case to the side or it falls off!) wasn't working for me any more. It all had to come off. Now mostly in a large heap on the floor. Don't tell anyone.

  21. Morning Julia- rofl at the coaster I can see at the back, under the blending tool! Loving that leafy stamp too. White inkpads too- do tell, are they any good? Doesn't seem like a year since we were 4, does it? Have a great week, Hugs Shaz xxx

  22. Ah yes, the push-back. I often do a variation of that entitled the push-aside. Too funny Julia. As I was getting ready to post I noticed it was 248 - so close to 250. Amazing....thanks again for keeping this going. And great birthday card you have on your desk! Happy week ahead!

I wonder where I will be in May? Me thinks I'd best get my a** into gear and make a few ATCs before the house move. :-)

  27. Hi Julia, busy desk I see....if you have the 'push back' technique I must have 'pile it on the floor'. This is my first year but will be looking forward to the ATC 'pass it on' - to celebrate your 5 years..well done. Cheers RobynO#30

  28. I like the push back method. That way, you don't have to get up too look for anything, it's always there. Not always visible, but there! I had to tidy my area up because a friend was coming to play. So all my push back was put away. Amazing how easy it was to put my kits together. Hmmmm I may have to work on the put away method. Note I said "may".

  40. New stamps ahoy! Look forward to seeing those in action. I did have to laugh at your "old chap" comment - I knew what you meant but knowing some people use this phrase for a man's nether regions did make me chuckle!

  41. Great stamps Julia and I love the ood chap card or even old chap - have you noticed the upsurge in weird typos now that lots of us are using tablets? My favourite typo is to use 3 instead of e - I do it all the time - except just then 'cos I was trying very hard. Going now... MMx #52ish

  42. How fun those stamps are! Love the "old chap" sentiment! Oh, I spot a bunch of chalks there too! It reminds me that I have used mine in awhile! You are good just to "listen" to Pride and Prejudice as Mr. Darcy is too distracting to have on for me not to watch him. My Jane Austen group (there are 8 of us) watch it quite a bit. Enjoy the day! 44. Oh my, the push back method! I'm well acquainted with that! Sometimes I push back so far it falls behind my desk. And at my age if I don't go down on hands and knees and retrieve it, it might lie there for months! My memory is definitely going!

  66. As promised very early this morning, I am back for a proper look and comment. I have come unstuck this week with my push back method, as a lot of stuff has to be moved so that the carpet and some of the floor boards can come up to, hopefully, get at the water leak below in the kitchen. So no crafting either until it is sorted. I am going to join Elizabeth at my outdoor desk, the two greenhouses and the raised beds I can reach from the paved areas. I still cannot get on with my large pink thing, so I think I will be bringing that down to Burbage to pass on to someone who can use it better. I will stick to my small ones that fit comfortably in my hands. Just got a pile of new goodies, arrived too late to show today, so I will photo them and show them next week. have a good week. xx Maggie #2
