What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday 247

Well, considering what I plan to do and what I had planned, my desk is disturbingly untouched since last Thursday.  Events, as they say, have overtaken me.  Still, at least there's something to see that isn't just a mess!

See, last Wednesday afternoon was spent in the company of craft friends, and in the pursuit of craft shops.  No problem, straight to Snazzy's at Swindon.  On the basis that I have cards to make for the Marathon, I managed to score the two Hero Arts sets you see on my desk.  Love 'em.  Not sure if they'll appear in the Marathon though, but it was a very convincing excuse! My phone and ipad are in view, together they make look like an Apple jerk. My glasses are on my head, as a hair band, naturally.  So the case is empty; I'm in the habit of using it because it makes me happy. You can clearly see Brilliance ink pads.  Using them feels a bit like a blast from the past, but I love them, and the water colour thing I've been doing with them is, if I say so myself, very pretty!
And the elephant on the desk is the Diet Doodle Book.  A really fab gift from Laura who knows that I've been on a diet for the last six centuries, and knows too that I need to write stuff down to stay focused.  This doodly approach is fab, I might share some of it - kinda like journaling without having to make your own pages!
There's a recent post about joining in this WOYWW lark that elicited a lot of response and so gentle reader, please would you cast your eye over it too, at some stage...just to brush up on the housekeeping of all these desks.  Thank you!
Meanwhile, link away so that we may visit....

  1. "The elephant on the desk" indeed. and it looks like several of us had your housekeeping post in mind when we created our posts this week.

I don't care for clear stamps, but what's not to love about coffee, chocolate, and even wine?

Hello Julia. Your desk looks like it's waiting for you. I noticed the elephant in the room and I thought it was great! I think I might look for it on Amazon. I'm trying to let my hair grow out so I know how to use my glasses as a headband; doesn't that work out well! happy WOYWW

  8. Well all I can say is, a diet doodle diary is a revolutionary idea! I eat in doodles...it would be perfect! A diet journal now sounds far too serious. And I love that coffee thing. You always give me a new idea every week Julia. As far as dieting though...let's just do like the French, and eat a croissant! Hugs dearest!

  9. Oh dear, please don't say those Brilliance ink pads are out of fashion. I love them but I don't have those colours so am tempted to go buy them straight away! That's the power of your desk! :)
I read the housekeeping post too. I liked (and agreed with) everything you had to say :)

  10. Is that the ink you used to make the card with the red ink and the little stamp. I can't remember exactly what you called it. I really like the card.
And I can totally relate to the diet - I've been on one since I was in middle school. April #21

It amazes me that people don't all leave a comment! ..... On a brighter note yea !! It's getting lighter out there in the mornings and still light at tea time is spring on the way!

  19. Hiya Julia, coffee stamps- yummy- what more could a girl want? (Just had to retype this, I had my caps lock on, lol). I've got quite a few Brilliance pads- like you say, a bit of a blast from the past, I bought loads when I first started, hardly use them at all now. I'll be interested to see what you are doing with them, might make me use mine more. Have a smashing week, Hugs, Shaz xx

Fab fun and helps too. I'm on a diet/healthy eating thing too. Lost half a stone. I've put one 2 stone due to meds and decrease in activity so got to watch what I eat but don't worry I still have a treat now and again! Take care lovely. Zo xx

  45. I had to laugh when I saw your Hero Arts stamp set, as I JUST got that one in myself!!! I've used it for three cards already, which naturally, I've forgotten to photograph and they've been shipped off already, lol! But still, it's sort of a thrill to see someone else with the same stuff. Why is that, I wonder??

I hope you enjoy them all too, and have a lovely week! :)

  48. How nice to have a little outing and shop for craft supplies! I did that yesterday and was so intent on getting out the door I forgot to do my post for a blog hop. I got a call right in the middle of Hobby Lobby and was told my link was not working. Well....that's because I didn't do my post. So I came home like a good girl and did the post. Just 4 hours late...oh my; I had to apologize! Love your desk by the way!

  60. I am one that has hung onto my Brilliance ink pad too, love'em!

So you've only been dieting for six centuries? Why your still new at it....LOL Doodle Diary looks interesting, hope you share some of the pages, even if they are empty.

Not linking this week, as this morning I am going to meet with a very good friend and go stash shopping (grin) she is not a "crafty" person, but wants a hobby. She did a crewel picture for me years ago ( yes crewel dates me LOL) and I think that is where her talents may still be. I think any kind of needle work falls into the "crafty" category.

So I'm off now to check out a few more desk while finishing my coffee, then let the day begin!

Great stamps you snagged. I have a similar set and they make the best magnets to give to friends.

Have a super fantastic week Oh Queen of WOYWW!

  75. Thanks for your visit, Julia, and sorry I am so late returning, but life took over yesterday with loads of phone calls and having to visit umpteen different places to get a couple of things I needed. Your desk is so tidy this week, not like mine. I rather suspect my desk will now remain untouched for the next week as I need to knit a scarf and a shawl for my littlest granddaughter in nine days - oooh eck! 80. It’s nice to see that in my absence things star the same and that your desk is still as cluttered creative as ever.
Loving the idea of the Diet Doodle Diary. It must be much more fun focusing in doodling than the actual food. Maybe something like that might help me on my quest to lose weight because quite frankly, I think I’ve lost the plot when it comes to sticking to my diet.

Thanks for stopping by this week and …………….
